I do want to give an update to our last visit with Geri's Garden Spa…read more This has been on hold a bit for my update because I broke a bone for the first time in my life and have been a little immobile which has pushed back reviews in general, but, not to digress.... Obviously, one of my experiences was with an MT that gave the worst massage of my life. BUT, we as a family have been visiting this spa for a very long time and still wanted to support and try again. Much to our joy, the business has opened up an extension space that offers a side by side couples massage experience and that's what we indulged in. My wife was scheduled with Amanda, and I had..... I believe her name was Rani? not sure of the spelling. Rani was attentive, QUIET, asked how pressure and comfort was, and largely just focused on the Swedish massage, instead of talking the entire time like my last visit here with a different therapist. So, for this time around, I appreciate that Rani gave a pleasant massage. Amanda is a rockstar and my wife loves getting massages with her. In fact, I get jealous because I wish I could have a massage from Amanda as well, which I could, but she can't clone herself for two side by side if we do the couples suite. This is a very cute spa and we love to support local business. I do see us returning in the future for self care treatments. My only concern is that when calling or texting to schedule for massages, I expect........ that whomever is discussed as a name within that conversation, that will be the massage therapist or therapists (couples) that are present day of. I do not want one name communicated, and I show up to someone else on the schedule. Thank you for reading!

One of the better massages I've had. The spa is very clean and beautiful. They offer drinks, alcohol and nonalcoholic, before and after service. I was gifted a massage here and was really excited to get to have some time to myself to relax…read more Upon entering, the spa was relaxing with calm music and fountains in the background. The receptionist was kind and had me fill out a massage intake form so it would be personalized to me. I chose to get a deep tissue thermal massage. They have women's and men's locker rooms to change into a robe and sandals. One thing that I didn't love was how small the women's locker room was. When there are three or more people in there changing, it's a little bit too close if you don't know the other people there. After changing, they have a relaxation room where you can calm down and wait for your masseuse. I was a little bit uncomfortable waiting, as when I entered the room, there was a man who was fully dressed and on his phone while sitting there. As a woman in nothing but a robe, it made me uncomfortable that he was on his phone just sitting there. I'm sure he meant no harm, but I would have liked it more if phones weren't allowed. It would be more relaxing. The massage itself was wonderful. I had Mira, and she did a great job releasing some of my tension in my shoulders and neck. She did some nice stretches during it too. I especially enjoyed the heated packs she put on my back and neck throughout. After finishing the massage, you are offered water, champagne, or a mimosa, and can go back to relax in the relaxation room. Overall, I really enjoyed my massage and think it will help my body feel better. Just wish the relaxation room was phone free for peace of mind.

Normally, customers are not allowed to bring electronics and devices past a certain point because the whole concept of the bathhouse is to unwind and step away from the busyness of everyday life. It it absolutely necessary to do so at times and this place truly helps to relax and reset. Urban baths Folsom is the first franchise offshoot from the popular Asha Urban Baths in Sacramento (which is also a great place but that's for another review). Guests check in and go into a coed changing area to lock up their belongings and change into something comfortable (swimsuit or another water outfit). Shoes are provided, towels can be rented for a nominal price. Once changed, with all electronics squared away, one may then enter the bathhouse. The main room is wheelchair accessible and contains both a massive warming pool and a smaller pool to the side that's much colder. The idea is to repeat a process that is proven to be very beneficial for the body--soak in the warming pool, sweat in either the steam room (pictured while it is off, but this room gets VERY steamy) or the sauna (smells so good in there!), and then cold plunge in the cold pool. Guests can repeat the process as many times as they would like. There are showers for rinsing off sweat before going back into the pools so if a cold plunge isn't your thing, you can turn the shower water a bit cooler and rinse off that way too. There are also lounge chairs and big bean bag chairs for people to sit in and converse in library-appropriate voices. The bathhouse isn't the only activity. There is also a sound immersion or a salt lounge experience. I've done the salt lounge and it's a very relaxing 45 minute session with two hour access to the bathhouse after. There's also a massage experience one can book--again, the bathhouse is there for once the session is over. I personally love this place. The staff are so friendly and the aesthetic really does make a person feel they have stepped away from the world for a time. I like being disconnected from my phone. The water temp is always perfect for me. The scents and the music and the ambience are just what I need to get away. It's great knowing such a nice, female-owned gem is only just down the road for me to visit whenever I feel life becoming too overbearing.

6/6/2025 Thank you…read moreElena and Jennifer for reaching out to my husband. We greatly appreciate the explanation with the appointment system and the willingness to get my hubs back on the schedule for the massage he signed up for. My hubs was hesitant to come back after his last session and especially after my review (he didn't know I was writing) but Elena & Jennifer helped him feel at ease of coming back and making it extremely flexible to rebook an appointment to come back in. Hubs went back to get the much needed deep pressure massage from Jennifer at The Spa Simply Skin. Both Elena and Jennifer were present to greet him. The ambiance of the room was serene as it was before. He keeps telling me about the nice Buddha in the massage room. Jennifer asked if the headrest area was ok was comfortable this time before proceeding. This time she asked about the massage pressure and if it was firm enough. She worked on getting his knots out which was greatly needed. She used a tool on his hands up/down his forearm that he said made him feel really good. He does repetitive work with his hands (handy electrician) and this helped relieve tension. I appreciate and want to thank both Elena and Jennifer for ensuring my husband was comfortable and ensuring he was content with the massage service that you offer. I'm looking forward to booking my session! :)

Elena is awesome and you should definitely give her a try.
