I came for this place's one year anniversary party and that's how I obtained photos of the interior to post on Yelp. Normally, customers are not allowed to bring electronics and devices past a certain point because the whole concept of the bathhouse is to unwind and step away from the busyness of everyday life. It it absolutely necessary to do so at times and this place truly helps to relax and reset. Urban baths Folsom is the first franchise offshoot from the popular Asha Urban Baths in Sacramento (which is also a great place but that's for another review). Guests check in and go into a coed changing area to lock up their belongings and change into something comfortable (swimsuit or another water outfit). Shoes are provided, towels can be rented for a nominal price. Once changed, with all electronics squared away, one may then enter the bathhouse. The main room is wheelchair accessible and contains both a massive warming pool and a smaller pool to the side that's much colder. The idea is to repeat a process that is proven to be very beneficial for the body--soak in the warming pool, sweat in either the steam room (pictured while it is off, but this room gets VERY steamy) or the sauna (smells so good in there!), and then cold plunge in the cold pool. Guests can repeat the process as many times as they would like. There are showers for rinsing off sweat before going back into the pools so if a cold plunge isn't your thing, you can turn the shower water a bit cooler and rinse off that way too. There are also lounge chairs and big bean bag chairs for people to sit in and converse in library-appropriate voices. The bathhouse isn't the only activity. There is also a sound immersion or a salt lounge experience. I've done the salt lounge and it's a very relaxing 45 minute session with two hour access to the bathhouse after. There's also a massage experience one can book--again, the bathhouse is there for once the session is over. I personally love this place. The staff are so friendly and the aesthetic really does make a person feel they have stepped away from the world for a time. I like being disconnected from my phone. The water temp is always perfect for me. The scents and the music and the ambience are just what I need to get away. It's great knowing such a nice, female-owned gem is only just down the road for me to visit whenever I feel life becoming too overbearing. read more

Remember when you were a kid and if you didn't have a pool at home, there were those public pools at the park? I don't think I ever went to those as a kid so Idk why it came to mind but I guess this is the adult version but without a pool, diving board, park and ofc no kids. Far stretch? lol! Instead you get to pay $45 for 2 hours to soak in a hot tub, cold plunge, sweat in the sauna and steam rooms. Then you get to take a shower (BYO shampoo/conditioner) with your bathing suit on out in the open. You get to share locker rooms and bathrooms with everyone, don't worry you can still get butt naked and change into clothes in the privacy of locked stalls. I have no inhibitions so it was fine for me but I'm sure others might not be super comfy, I could name a few ... Anyway, facility was clean, everyone was quiet and respectful of others. I can't complain about the things I wish it had bc it is what it is and a full service posh spa is NOT what it is. I had my makeup bag, hoping to get prettied up after but there was no room for that there, just basic sink, no vanity area. The light in the sink area was so dim, I didn't even bother. Just blow dried my hair, threw on my shades and left. It was an experience I was somewhat prepared for, I just wasn't sure about the lack of vanity area. Now I know. I rather get my massages and facials in a full service spa with all the bells and whistles, where I can soak and sweat as well, while prancing around in my robe/slippers with a drink in hand. I dont know what took me so long to make my first visit, but it was much longer than it should have been. My gym is in the same parking lot and I always wondered if the things I had been hearing about how great this place is made it worth going. Spoiler alert, they are. Show up 10-15min early if it's your first time to full out their paperwork. My friend rented towels for $5, I did not, you definitely need 2. Traded our ID'S for a locker key and off we went. Nervous first timers we were super happy to have the place to ourselves for a while. The showers are so nice, the different settings make it easy to do a cold misting after the sauna or steam. The warm soak was so lovely. The water was clear and felt so nice on our aching joints. The sauna. Oh my, the cedar sauna. Hot, but do not miss it. We were partial to the steam, but either way, it felt like we were new people when we walked out. Everything was super clean. The locker room/changing room was nice. I was a little skeptical about a "co-ed" changing room, but there are private spaces with a lock on the door to change your clothes. Very much appreciated. All in all, my friend and I had an incredibly enjoyable experience, and we're even talking about making this a regular thing for us. $45 for a 2 hour soak and sauna wasnt too shabby. read more

Surprised my gf for her bday since she sent a tiktok of this spot a while ago, and the things we both enjoyed were the staff, ambience, cleanliness, the respect for no phones and low noise from the other attendees. Overall great. The cons: I got her a 50 min massage, & she was really looking forward to quietness and getting a relaxing massage. But the massage therapist talked the whole 50 minutes. My gf wasn't too happy about that considering how long of a week she had dealing with patients in the medical field all week. We both really enjoyed the bath house portion but as a suggestion, maybe for the services, there could be a minimal talking option in the future ? The baths are clean, you do have to sign a health waiver. As an older adult the only thing I truly enjoyed was the hot tub. The saunas were too hot for me and the cold plunge, I could only sit on side and put my legs in. I went with my family on a girls day out. That's why it was fun. The massage was decent and luckily they had availability on short notice! You can experience the baths on their own (I believe it is $45 for two hours). This includes access to the sauna, steam room, spa, and cold plunge pool. For additional cost, they offer sound baths, salt soaks, and massages which also include 2 hours in the bath house. They offer packages, as well. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We were really able to relax and unwind! We will definitely be back! Really enjoy this place and the crew is extremely polite and helpful. It's very easy to book an appt or walk in. The spa has a salt lounge, sound bath, and massages. Apts for those are separate from the bath house which has a warm pool, cold plunge pool, dry and eucalyptus saunas. I've gone several times but the most recent we did a massage, salt lounge and then the baths. It was extremely relaxing. This is Asha Urban Baths newest location. This is actually my first time going to Urban Baths. My wife went to the original location. She said that this one is smaller but also has much less people. My wife and I had an appointment for a massage at 7 PM. Starting from the reception, the receptionist was very nice and informative. When we entered the waiting room for the massage, there is a short questionnaire you fill out to describe what you would like in a massage and what areas to be aware of. The masseuses we got were awesome. I'm horrible with names, but they were very professional and constantly checked in on us. After the massage, we proceeded to the bath house. We got changed in the shared locker rooms and then rinsed ourselves off. This was the first time I've ever done a cold plunge. I thought my could take it, but it felt like needles on my feet. The other customers were very quiet and it was serene. I would definitely go back, but it is pricey to the point where I can probably only do this once or twice a year. read more

I had never heard of this location (it's in the old Scott's Seafood building, for anyone wondering) until my husband surprised me with a "Retreat Yourself" package for my birthday. He insisted I book it for the actual day, so I called the spa assuming there was no way they could fit me in. To my surprise, they had two openings, and I grabbed the 3 PM slot. The package was $190 and included: * 50-minute massage (Maureen was my therapist--she was fantastic!) * 45-minute salt therapy or sound immersion (I was signed up for sound; I don't recall being asked, so maybe salt wasn't available?) * Two-hour bathhouse access, which came with a mini facial kit to use while enjoying the spa amenities (hot tub, cold plunge, showers, steam room, and sauna). I arrived late--Costco the week before Thanksgiving is chaos!--about 10 minutes past my massage start time. Maureen was so kind and got me settled quickly. Her massage was excellent. As a former massage therapist, I rarely relax on the table, but I truly let go this time. No post-massage soreness or headache--just an overall sense of well-being. Next was sound immersion. Honestly, most people would probably love it, but the shifting tones and vibrations spiked my anxiety (I'm clearly sound-sensitive). I might try salt therapy next time. I also struggle to relax in calm environments--I'm the person who fidgets during yoga shavasana--so this wasn't a huge surprise. Finally, the bathhouse. Loved the spa--perfect temperature! The cold plunge? My nemesis. I don't understand how anyone sits in freezing water (and ice baths? Forget it!). I did try, inch by inch, but wow... COLD. That's the point, right? I just couldn't power through, but I gave it a shot. The entire facility was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Scheduled the sound immersion and bath house experiences. The sound immersion was a great way to start: you are assigned individual beds equipped with weighted blankets, a warming eye mask, and an over-ear, wired head phones. I believe I was so comfortable I fell asleep. Then spent the next couple hours enjoying the decompression of time and space by cycling through cleansing shower, relaxing in a heated pool, steam/dry sauna, and cold plunge. Each are an incredible experience of their own, and equally wonderful in full cycle. Reserve on-line; pay at facility. There's a lot of potential here to be great but customer service needs work. We booked a reservation for seven of us but one person was not going to be able to make it after all. We called to ask if we needed to do to cancel just that one person or how it should be handled with plenty of notice. The instructions we were given were that instead of canceling the whole reservation they would just remove that seventh person and we would pay for the other six of us when we came in. We followed the verbal instructions given within the 24 hour timeframe and when we arrived, we were not treated with respect by the gal at the front counter. She was not listening to what was told to us verbally. She just wanted to keep telling us we had to pay for that person. At the end it worked out but a business like this that is supposed to bring peace and calming made a birthday celebration really stressful to start with. And the lack of being heard is not a good feeling as a customer going into an experience that is supposed to take away stress. Overall, the venue is a wonderful place but be very weary about making a group reservation and if changes must occur, get any instructions about them in writing. read more

I love this place. I've come twice now and it's just a great way to unwind. I love that it's not really crowded. You can still whisper which is great, because I've been places where they don't allow any talking and I think that's just impossible. Just be respectful. It's clean and staff is friendly. The entire staff was very friendly, but the atmosphere was very disappointing. The temperature was a chilling 65° (guessing) and they were using small space heaters in a failed attempt to warm up the massage rooms. My masseuse was a real sweetheart, but the massage felt more like a body rub than a massage. As we were lead to the massage area, we walked through a hallway that stored all the cleaning supplies that were exposed on shelves that had no doors. I heard good things about this place in Sacramento but hadn't tried it yet. When a friend told me they opened a second location in Folsom, I jumped at the chance. Minimalist vibe, warm pool and cold plunge with dry and steam sauna options. All-gender changing area with lockers and bathroom with private stalls. Bring your own towels or they offer 2 for $5 upcharge. Some light snacks available at front desk. Upcharge for DIY facial kit (3 out of 5 stars). I was not offered sandals. They do not offer robes. Bathing suits required. They have shower gel available but very few other amenities so bring your own. I booked a 50-min massage with Star and she worked through some adhesions in my shoulder. Access to the pools/sauna comes with massage. Pricing is reasonable ($45) for the basic pool/sauna service . Massage and salt room are additional. I'd like to come back and try the sound bath (additional fee) when they offer that again. It was not too crowded on a Friday evening, mostly couples. Not sure what capacity limit they allow. The pools are not very big, 3.5 ft deep with benches surrounding the rectangular shape on all sides. Newly opened, they are still working through some service issues. I have been to the original Asha location many times. I was excited for this location to open as it is closer to home and I was not disappointed! I went in the evening on the day after opening and enjoyed a peaceful night with few patrons. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything is brand new and clean. There is one plunge pool, warm pool, sauna, and steam room. This location is smaller but each amenity is larger. The plunge pool is huge as is the sauna. I was able to swim around and stretch out as I pleased. There are 4 showers with EO brand products for use. There are several chairs and bean bags to read or relax on. There isn't an outdoor area. Staff states massages and other additional treatments will be available in the next few weeks. There is a water fountain and water bottle fill station but there are no cups so make sure to bring your own water bottle. Towels, shoes, and lockers are available for rent. If you've never been to a bathhouse this is a must. If you enjoyed the other Asha location this one is absolutely worth the visit. I will definitely be back ! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had a voucher for the bath house but because I also did the salt room she would not let me use the voucher and made me pay for the entire thing. I had no idea and when I called originally, one of the workers told me I could do this then when I told the manager that all she had to say was "we will work on training our team better".
