Had a terrible couples massage experience. First off, we arrived early, there wasn't a receptionist, and our 90 minute massage started late and finished on time. During the massage a worker came in and interrupted our services to talk to our masseuses, which was very professional. Also during the massage, my masseuse left the room. I added on foot reflexology, and she wore gloves, which was incredibly loud and uncomfortable. I have never had a massage where gloves were worn! I would understand if someone had disgusting feet, but my feet are pedicured and beautifully groomed. Not only was that a very uncomfortable way to end a 90 minute massage, the massage itself was terrible. She used no pressure, felt rushed through, and mostly used her forearm to rub my body. Lastly, the checkout experience was also uncomfortable. She told me the amount to leave for tip!! I will never come back here, and I'm very upset to have wasted money here for a massage that I was truly looking forward to after working 12hr shifts at the hospital. read more

Let me start by saying that overall, we had a good experience. I came here with my family for a girls' spa day. Between us, we booked three massages, one facial, and one head spa, and we added cupping, a facial massage, and a neck and shoulder massage to some of the services. We arrived about 20 minutes early, but there was no one at the front desk initially, and it took about five minutes before someone came to greet us. My first impression was that the space looked clean and had a nice, relaxing vibe. After checking in, we were seated in the waiting area, where we waited another 10 minutes before our services began. One thing that felt a bit uncomfortable was that my sister-in-law's scalp analysis was done in front of everyone in the waiting area. I'm not sure if that's standard practice, but it did feel a little awkward. After that, she was taken back, followed by my mom for her facial, while the rest of us waited for our massages. Two of us were placed in a couples room, which we didn't mind, but it might be something to mention or confirm with guests ahead of time. The massage itself was okay, though different from what I've experienced before. At one point, the masseuse moved the table while I was on it, and during the session, the other masseuse left the room and left the door open, which made it easy to hear noise from outside. That took away from the relaxation a bit. I also tried cupping for the first time, and that part was actually a highlight--I really enjoyed it. Overall, the services were decent for the price. However, the checkout experience was a bit uncomfortable. We paid on one card, and it felt like the receptionist was watching closely to see if I would leave a tip. Then we were each asked individually about tipping, which felt a bit pressured. I'm all for tipping, but it should feel optional and based on individual experience. Unfortunately, my last experience here wasn't the best. During my massage, the therapist repeatedly burped throughout the session, which made it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the treatment. It was distracting and took away from what should have been a calming experience. Over $140 for what seemed like a very long shampoo only was not worth it. Barely any massage in the head and neck, nothing at all in the shoulders. The employees seemed very inexperienced. She just pressed my arms and legs briefly and called that a massage. Paid an extra $40 to add that and there was no massage. Pressing down on arms and legs over a blanket, no lotion or oil, and extremely light pressure is NOT A MASSAGE. So disappointing. They also charge an additional 4% if you pay by credit card or debit card: such a disappointing experience. read more

I thought I purchased a Groupon for a full body massage, but I had inadvertently purchased one for the half hour hot stone foot massage. That's OK, I went in to take advantage of it. Overall, it was OK. The place is clean and the gentleman at the front desk was friendly. I go back to my room, and my massage person, Jerry, comes in, and the massage started with a hot foot soak, which I liked a lot. I lay down on my back on the table, and he starts in on the foot massage. The problem is, he's massaging way too hard, and it was uncomfortable. Twice, I asked him to go softer, and he either didn't speak English, or he was wearing earbuds and couldn't hear me, I couldn't tell for sure. Finally, I got his attention, and he did go softer on the foot massage. From there, the massage was great. He massaged both feet, he even popped my toes. I liked it. At the end of the massage, he said, that's it, but I had not yet gotten my hot stones. I mentioned that, and he goes oh, hot stones.... He brings them out, and I do get the hot stone foot massage, and that made my feet feel even more relaxed. The last time I had a hot stone foot massage was part of a pedicure, and that time I didn't like it. This time, I liked it a lot. I'm not sure what the difference was. As I check out at the front desk, I was also supposed to be getting a $20 gift card for a return visit as part of the Groupon. I forgot to ask for it, and they never gave it to me. That's OK, even if I got it, I wouldn't be using it. Overall, the massage was good, I just didn't care for the lack of attention to detail. A girl was having a badddddd day. It was a Friday and saw this place had Groupons. They do not accept groupons on Fridays. Only Monday through Thursday. Swerve the groupon away and asked for 1hr massage, 1 hr facial, and 1 hr headspa. I definitely left relaxed. The massage was amazing! It was a little intense near the shoulders for me but amazing past that. I left without shoulder pain! (had a bruise next day) The facial left me pampered and moisturized. The head spa was relaxing and I left with silky hair. There were some weird parts here and there but overall I had a good spa experience. read more

I booked four of us for a head spa with a woman at the front desk who stated our service would include a neck and shoulder massage for an additional $40 for a 90 minute session. Total cost per person with tax and gratuity was about $145! This was basically just a shampoo with barely any massage. They didn't even clean our scalps well. After the supposed scalp treatment and hair wash, it was weird that they had my sister and I sit face to face on stools in the same room where they shampooed our hair, They then draped wet towels on our shoulders which they used to dry our.hair while they blow dried it. The stools were very uncomfortable with no back support and the room became really warm. We all came out with damp hair looking like we just got out of the shower. During the hair wash, they made so much noise moving things around near the uncomfortable massage tables and their hair wash contraption was making a clanking noise the entire time. So distressing instead of relaxing. They were nice enough but this was not at all worth the over $600 total dollars we spent. Sad about this poor experience. I really needed a good experience today but sadly it was the opposite of one. read more

There's so much to say. I don't understand a massage with no oil or lotion. I booked a prenatal massage and received a pregnancy pillow along with the massage. It was so disappointing I didn't get any oil or lotion applied to my body just a sheet over me and she wasn't applying any pressure whatsoever to my body. It felt equivalent to a 4 year old attempting to massage me. I did not get a massage, it felt more so like rubbing up against my skin through the sheet. I was so confused and actually wanted to cry at how disappointing it was (pregnancy hormones). Imagine getting rubbed (not massaged) for 60 minutes, no lotion or oil and 25 minutes on each side of your body, no shoulder rub either. The last 4 minutes she rubbed oil on my feet which was the only time oil was applied and it was lousy as well, again no pressure and felt like a 4 year old was rubbing me. She was taking deep sighs as well like as if she didn't want to do it either. I was a bit upset that I had to pay for this but just wanted to leave and decided I will NEVER come back and I do not recommend anyone to this place. This was my first experience ever getting a massage and it was horrible. I even think I tipped on accident, to add more pain to my experience. Anyways, so I made an appointment so I can use the Groupon, and my experienced was not good. The masseuse was rude and she was wearing gloves. I want to give this place 4 stars but I can't. Mostly due to the fact that you can't really relax! The cons... If you can... you want one of the rooms further back. Otherwise you hear people talking the whole time. Not only the front desk but the people in the waiting room as well. The pros... The place really nice on the inside! Very clean and the service was good. (Except for all the talking but not by the masseuses.) This place is pricy but reasonable through their Groupons. Not sure I would go back again. I have been to other places with more reasonable prices. Plus, the massages are usually longer and more thorough. It was good for what it was. We came here as a family for a special celebration, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. We paid around $500 for our session, but the service was nowhere near that value. Out of the 90 minutes promised, the massage therapists spent about half the time just standing around doing nothing. To make matters worse, they had the nerve to insistently ask for tips afterward. Asking for a tip after such a lazy and unprofessional performance is bold, to say the least. I've already paid a premium price for a service I didn't fully receive. This was honestly the worst massage I've ever had. I specifically asked for a deep tissue massage, but it felt like they were just lightly rubbing oil on my body. If I wanted that, I could've done it myself at home. I also paid extra for cupping, and it was completely inconsistent. There was strong pressure in some spots and barely any in others--especially in the middle of my back, which was just all over the place. I wouldn't recommend cupping here at all; it honestly seems like they don't know what they're doing. My fiancé's massage was also supposed to be deep tissue, but it felt super light, and it left no effect at all--no marks, no pressure, nothing. We both walked out disappointed. As an xmas present my daughter gifted me x2 groupons for this location, the manager would not honor it on a Sunday when nowhere in the fineprint does it state this. After a hassle and higher cost, my husband used his previously purchased gift card. The massages were OK with requested pressure, too much oil and the towels were piping hot. Oh my gosh. I hate giving bad reviews but my massage here was atrocious. First world problem, I know. I don't even know where to begin but this was almost sitcom-level comical it was so horrible. Throughout the entire massage I was wondering if they just found my masseuse (if that's the right term) in some random nearby neighborhood just wandering around - with zero background or even a modicum of expertise. Technically we had bought the 90-minute upgrade facial/scalp massage. I swear my masseuse has never massaged someone before, and the majority of the massage could be best described as just...pushing, I guess? And randomly rubbing lotion on areas without any muscle groups, totally non-sensical, driving his elbow into the areas of my back way too hard. For the "facial massage" he randomly slapped lotion/oil on my face and, like, yanked my cheeks and forehead around. Scalp was equally weird, just random finger tip pressing. Throughout the entire time my hair was wrapped in a towel, and he would lean his other arm on the towel, effectively pulling my hair. I could go on and on. I thought about leaving halfway through, but my husband (we got a couples massage), was also present (he said his was subpar too, although didn't sound quite as bad as mine) and I didn't want to disrupt his. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Waste of $100 and 90 minutes (just under; they didn't go the full 90) of my life. Wow, really surprised that people had such a different experience than I did today. I usually read reviews before I go places and I guess I just didn't care today because I really need the service and they delivered! I booked last minute and usually if you can book easily it's not a good sign but again threw caution to the wind went with it anyway. I'm so glad I did and I felt bad because my gps sent me the wrong way so I was at least 10 minutes late but I called to confirm that I was still coming so it was no problem. Everything was pleasant, it's very neat and clean in appearance too. The booking online was easy, the man taking calls was very polite, and welcoming when I arrived accepting my apologies for being late by saying it wasn't a problem I'd get my full hour. I booked the head spa service and I've had this service at two other places before so I knew what to expect (in general) they always show you your scalp under a magnified screen then highlight areas of concern or anything in general. They did a brief scalp analysis which is typical, they don't usually last more than a few minutes anywhere I've been previously. The service it self was very relaxing. I really enjoyed it, there was one thing they did differently than other places and it was they do a lot of manual scrubbing on your scalp. Some places use special scalp massagers and scalp brushes, I think I prefer that method because using just fingers can feel a little too scratchy at times. But overall it was really exactly what I needed. I love the face massaging, the neck too, and the steam they use during the conditioning, it's a nice touch towards the end. For the price it's definitely worth a try, I highly recommend it especially if you've never had a scalp treatment. If you're not into anything scratching on your head probably not going to be your thing. But it is so good for stimulating hair growth so it's a regular thing for me. Love it ! read more

I arrived about 15 min early and was shown the restroom and waiting area. The rooms and decor look very nice and they have relaxing music playing however in the lobby the ladies were talking loudly non stop and I started to wonder if they forgot about me since it was now 10 min past my appt time. I had read reviews about this so I gave myself an extra hour to be to my next appt. At 15 min past I went back out to the lobby to find the ladies who now we're no longer in sight and talking more quietly in the back room. So I got their attention and she then confirmed my phone number and asked me what I was there for. I told her and she showed me to my room. I asked if she could tell the girl I wanted my face massaged as well since it was a free add-on and she says oh it's a he we don't have a female masseuse. This was odd to me because all I saw was ladies walking around, but I had my heart set on a massage so I said that was fine but it would've been nice to know ahead of time. After the massage started everything from there went well. It was a good massage. I felt like the front desk was basically just winging it and I didn't have that upscale vibe. Perhaps it was because I was there on a Thursday midday and didn't see any other customers that the structure wasn't there. I did get a voucher for $20off to return to use on a manicure or pedicure so if I'm out this way, I will give them another try. read more

I want to start off by stating my positive experience. It was very easy to book a head spa for me and my girlfriend. When we arrived we noticed nice decor, and a clean space. The receptionist was very nice and our appointment started on time. The receptionist encouraged me to upgrade to the 90 min package with included a facial massage so I took it. $129 each. The 2 ladies that did our service were so sweet! Ok on to the next part. I'm hoping the second part of this acts more as constructive criticism rather than a bashing. This place has so much potential but is in need of some major changes to its head spa experience. They started with the facial part. My spa tech lightly washed my face and massaged it. It was so light I barely felt it. The brochure said acupressure was involved. There was no pressure. I was scared about the mask they were going to put on I have very sensitive skin. My tech was great about making sure it felt ok and I didn't break out in hives on my face so that was a win. The facial portion was disappointing and not worth the upgrade in my opinion. The lighting in the room was so bright it was hard to relax even with my eyes closed the whole time. There was also a mildew smell. Next was the head spa, she washed my hair 2 times with a shampoo that smelled so bad. Aroma is key to any spa experience. While washing my hair she attempted to massage my head. It was quite possible the worst head massage I've ever had. The shampoo started to make my head tingle, that later turned into hives around my hair line. The smell was the worst part. She added conditioner last which also smelled bad. There was a light body massage to finish and that part was relaxing. Last they put my friend and I face to face with our knees 5 inches apart on chairs and began to blow dry our hair. The shampoo they used had a horrible reaction with my color treated hair and she couldn't even comb out my hair. It was barely dry and the experience was over. My hair looked and felt so bad. I asked her for the brush and it took me 5 min to get the knots out. This has never happened to my hair ever. It's certainly not what I would expect either from a head spa experience. Even if I had to leave with wet hair I would expect it to be soft and hydrated. Instead it was frizzy and brittle feeling. The experience has so much potential. My suggested changes would be the following: Darken the rooms lighting. Use high-end shampoo and conditioner that smells good. Maybe have a hypoallergenic option as well. Put scented oil defusers in the rooms. There was a faint smell of mildew probably from the amount of water that falls on the carpet. I know because I stepped in it after our session. Facial massage should include acupressure to relieve sinuses and you should be able to feel the massage. Don't tell people theres a blow dry. If you can't do a full blow dry there's no point. I wouldn't have minded leaving with wet hair. If you can't make changes I would charge less I spent $350 for my friend and I and it was just not worth it. I hope this was helpful and if the changes were made I would definitely try it again! read more

Do not go by yourself to this place. When we told the lady at the front counter that we were using Groupon, we were told that they do not accept Groupons on Sundays and only Monday- Thursday. Very disappointing as it was not in the fine print or posted anywhere, just told it is their policy. But we were already there and got sucked in to getting massages done there regardless. We paid full price as we were unable to use Groupon. Additionally, the lady at the front counter made us pay before the massage. The massages were good and have been going to this place since they opened. The customer service has completely degraded over the year. The lady at front counter is belittling. After reading previous reviews, glad my wife did not go there alone. This lady at front counter is out of control! Unfortunate, as the massages that we have gotten there have been good. This place is conveniently located in a nice spot in Folsom. The rooms are nice and pretty peaceful. I have been here twice and I think I gave this place a good enough chance to give it a fair rating. The first time I came I did the message and scalp treatment. The scalp treatment was very relaxing, however, the next day and next few days after I noticed that my hair felt gummy and damaged. I don't know if it was the product used or the water temperature but it was something that severely changed the texture of my hair. I had to go get it cut because it felt so awful and looked burnt. For the message I got that day and the one I got yesterday I have some constructive criticism. I have a lump (Dowager's Hump) on the back of my neck. The amount of time spent on this lump is kinda insane. I don't know if they are acting like it's a knot or something but because they are constantly messaging it and putting focus on it, it makes it painful by the end of the experience. I also requested a soft level massage and I am literally sore and can't move the middle of back from how painful the massage still was. I was very relaxed during the massage (except for the lump massaging) but the aftermath is not worth it at all. read more

Body massage was fantastic and I would have given this place a 5/5 if I was reviewing just that. However I tried their zen signature head spa (90min) which says blow dry is included...but they just dried my hair since the lady ran out of time and in the end my hair was rough and dry...Also I had breakouts after the facial mask as the products did not suit my skin....I feel they should discuss what products they are using beforehand just to ensure there is no reaction or allergies...... read more

The lady at the front desk who "welcomed" us in was not very nice. She tried to upsell us to the 90 min but we went in for the 60 min. She was upset we didn't take the package that was more money. The head spa was great! When we were checking out, again with the front desk girl... she was upset I only charged 20% lol. She was rude. But the ladies who gave us the actual service were great!
