You made my morning. Lots of parking, huge lot. The hosting front staff were VERY polite and clear with every name called. There was a long line, but a short wait. There was VERY nice music in the background that I hardly noticed
I liked my seat and my wife liked hers. I really liked the reclaimed pine beetle white pine with the silvery blue stain left from the beetles. I think it was worth the extra investment. The decor was bright, unique and 'breakfasty', cozy but still easy to see.
Our waitress was an adorable personality named Moira, credit to the people that raised her. The whole staff was full and buzzing. They were all kind of unique personalities that seemed hand chosen for a bright nature and maybe lots of previous experience. Each person was not in uniform but in a kind of 'personal' uniform of style expression. I liked it and them. They moved with purpose and some kind of silent speed. Hmmmm.
The menu was maybe 4-6 pages total but great choices from simple eggs to omelets(all whites avail); some veggie options, some meat choices, strangely GREAT coffee, what's up with that? Sandwich choices, and a few more pancake or Benedict options. More that I can't recall.
I got the SURPRISINGLY fresh Colorado trout with two SURPRISINGLY perfect medium poached eggs. I asked for extra crispy hash browns because that's the way I like them and guess what, THAT'S HOW THEY CAME, perfect! What's going on, you're treating me like you know I'm a sneaky critic somehow like family but more respectful. EXAMPLE, a gal in a monochromatic dress and a great long sweater quietly asks if she 'may refill my coffee', what the heck? You respect me enough to not just sneak up and pour? You actually asked me, protecting the entire operation from my pet peeve, the change in coffee to milk to sweetening agent ratio(stevia, equal, sugar, maybe a different thing/color and I'm sure honey if you ask, I use stevia in my coffee when possible, so), and did I mention strangely GREAT coffee? I had two cups! They respected MY mix!
My wife had the Benedict, it was close to perfect. She had 2-3 refills on her tea?? Her hash browns were crispy and perfect like mine.
No dessert for me today but I tipped Moira twice, on my card and some cash.
As I was walking out I asked to speak to the owner, turns out it was the demure beauty in the monochromatic dress with the great sweater and the smile....
We'll be back.
