Greg B.

I really struggle with Sunshine Breakfast Bar and here's why. The food is always top notch and amazing. What often ruins my experience (like today) is all of the secret up charges. It's not always the wait staff's fault because these are defaults programmed into their POS system when your order is keyed in. Today I was offered to add cheese, onions and peppers to my house potatoes. Take a look at the attached receipt...$3 in total up-charges for a very meager sprinkle of onions and peppers (I wish I had taken a picture of that)! At no time did the waitress disclose the up charge for those items. Same thing with my latte...up charge for making it a vanilla latte. I purposely don't come here as often as I would like to because 80% of time I feel leaving more fleeced by up-charges versus satisfied by the meal. It's really a short term business philosophy if you ask me: short term profits over long term sustainability from happy, loyal, repeat customers returning on a more frequent basis. However, that's the broader theme in our society today...how much $$ can we squeeze (fleece) out of someone. There are so many other good breakfast places that don't employ up-charges to this degree. This place has a local family run feel until you get the bill...then it feels like you're on the opposite side of some shark in a suit working for a private equity firm. As much as I love the food, I'm done punishing myself. Won't be going back.

Saturday morning visit, first visit. Party of two, no wait outside, but there was a wait inside. The inside was stuffy so we sat outside. The misters made outside seating manageable in August heat. The service was good. The food was ok. The potatoes were lacking flavor. The cheese ratio on the croissant sandwich was overpowering. The middle of the chicken fried steak was overly chewy. It's not a bad option if you're North Phoenix.

I love the Sunshine breakfast Bar! The service is always top notch, everyone smiles, makes eye contact, and speaks. The food is always fresh with beautiful plating. These photo I posted are unedited because the natural light just spills into the restaurant so perfectly. 10/10

My mom and I enjoyed a nice breakfast at Sunshine Breakfast Bar. They have quite an extensive menu with all the breakfast items and spirits! I had a mimosa flight. There are so many options for flavors. I got the prickly pear, the blueberry, the mango and the strawberry rose. My favs were blueberry and prickly pear. It is kind of pricey at $20 but it was worth it especially the presentation. Both my mom and I got sweet breakfast. My mom got the pancakes and I got the waffles with strawberries and cream. They do have real maple syrup for an extra $2 and it is not a good amount so that was annoying. The pancakes were average, on the sweet side. The waffle was good and fluffy. The service was also great too and parking was easy. We sat on the patio since it wasn't too hot and they have electric shades if needed to block out the sun. Overall it was pretty good.

Given the reviews I was expecting some amazing food and service but to be honest everything was meh. While everything looks beautiful, the flavors were lacking. The French toast was super dry even with all the fruit and whipped cream. The fruit was good and fresh. The coffee tasted burnt and the white chocolate mocha tasted like warm milk. The restrooms were clean and staff was ok. Our waitress just seemed annoyed to be there. With so many other options, I don't think I will return. The burger had little flavor but could use seasoning.

Susie was our server on Sunday and she was so very kind and efficient. The wait to be seated was long but totally worth it! The food was incredible and didn't take long at all to get our order. The hostesses were very kind as well. The restaurant was clean and the vibe was good. Really appreciated the service environment and good food.

Happened to stumble across this place well out. Very lively place!! Started with the Lemon Ricotta pancakes, looked super tasty, but the flavor and texture of pancake wasn't for me. Ordered the Huevos Rancheros without chorizo. This was so hearty!! I loved it!!

Went for breakfast with family member. Service was very good. Got coffee right away. We decided to each get a dish and share. I got the chicken fried steak breakfast. 2 eggs, toast, potatoes, the chicken fried steak tho slightly over cooked was huge and delicious. Loved the sausage gravy on top. Just a huge, too much food. Thank goodness I was giving half up to my sister. She had pancakes. Very large buttermilk pancakes. They too were tasty. A great place for breakfast.

Came back Sunday on our way home and again completely happy with everything

Visiting our son, searches for a restaurant that would satisfy everybody's pallet and nutritional needs. From the moment we were sat down, and reviewed the menu, we felt at home. We have our health, nuts, meat, and potatoes, eaters, and just all around different pallets. This place did not disappoint! From the oatmeal to the brioche French toast, to the chorizo breakfast burrito, and their bacon and egg platter!. Portions were perfect, they did not skimp on the fruits for the oatmeal, orange juice freshly squeezed. Service was great! They were busy we had to join the waitlist, but we're seated without any issues within the time window that the waitlist provided. We loved it so much. We're going back today Sunday before we actually drive back home! Great job to the owners and the staff Kelly was our waitress yesterday and we'll see who we get today. Thank you guys for making our visit a memorable one Im a breakfast guy although my family is not yet we all were happy with choice and quality of food Lastly the place was nice decorated, both inside and outside. Misters on to keep you cool in the patio as-well.

My wife and I joined our friends for brunch today, and they suggested the Sunshine Breakfast Bar as a new option. We were able to go onto Yelp to place ourselves on the waitlist in advance, and then we headed out there a bit later with a minimal wait. After checking in with the host stand upon arrival, we found ourselves on the covered patio a few minutes later. The parking, however, was a bit more challenging to find, but the further back we drove in the complex, the more open spaces were there. The Sunshine Breakfast Bar has a nice breakfast/brunch menu and a menu also for those wanting lunch. They are open daily from 7 AM to 2 PM. The restaurant is also now open (or so I think) at a new location in Tempe on Baseline. When signing up for the reward club, we were asked for our birthday; I assume there will be some sort of birthday freebie or deal when the time comes. You can also sign in on their website to learn about offers and see your profile. When I first logged in last night, it said I was a member since 2018, so I'm assuming that this restaurant got its member list from another restaurant at one point since today was my first visit there. The other highlights for our meal today were that we received fast service, the food was very tasty, and they have a dog-friendly patio. I ordered the Classic Pancake which consisted of two sweet cream pancakes topped with butter, syrup on the side, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. My wife ordered a Create Your Own Omelette, which provided us three eggs and a choice of 1 cheese item plus any 3 veggie or meat options. She chose cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and onions. Her meal also came with homestyle potatoes and bakery style sour dough toast. We split both meals in half so that we both could try two dishes. We loved both meals! You can go to https://www.sunshinebreakfastbar.com and enter your e-mail address or phone number on the "Become a VIP" pop-up window. You can also sign up with your Facebook or Google account. Signing up will give you updates on exclusive events, secret menus, special offers/discounts, loyalty rewards & more. Also on the website, you can find their menu, order items online, catering options, another place to join their waitlist, and more. We may just be hooked, so we'll plan on going back again soon!

Been multiple times. Got food. Coffee and drinks are amazing. They have indoor and outdoor seating with misters/fans. The servers are friendly, check back on you and prompt. Hard to beat that. The inside is a bright color. Booth or 1/2 booths with chairs.

Nancy W.

It's been year and we came back again for breakfast. We're on the way back to CA. Vanilla Lattes. Kids breakfasts and I had the really good biscuits and gravy, and Anber had the eggs Benedict. She liked it but she likes bacon and sliced tomato on hers. And it was not on the menu. We like this restaurant and will be back again in 2026. Parking is limited. It's a small strip mall. Also something in the restaurant by the kitchen smells of sewer as you Walk to the restrooms now and that's kinda gross., idk why.

Charlie L.

A couple of years on, this is still my favorite breakfast place. I've settled in a rotation of my favorites. Someone suggests we meet for breakfast, I say let's go to Sunshine. There are a couple of servers here who are phenomenal and I'm willing to wait a little longer to be seated in their sections. Most recent visit was a birthday breakfast and I got a free cinnamon roll which was huge and delicious. It's a bit noisy inside and always bustling so keep that in mind. The decor is cheerful and bright. This place is hoppin' on weekend mornings so plan accordingly.

Amazing. The bacon and eggs were the best I've ever had. The unique waffles and pancakes were the best breakfast I've ever had. Very sweet, more like dessert. We will definitely go back. There are a dozen more things I'd like to try. Expensive though. We spent $40 for two people, waffle dish, pancake dish, two eggs and two pieces of bacon, no drinks. The staff is super friendly. read more

Terrific on all the things! The latte with the sugar free vanilla was amazing. I enjoyed the eggs Florentine, and my companion enjoyed the American breakfast. The place is energetic and on the noisier side but the waitresses are friendly. The only think I didn't live was the bacon, but then I am a bacon snob this was too chewey for me. The location is not anything to write about but with how busy they were I guess it doesn't matter. read more

One of the cutest breakfast spots I've been to in a while! Their menu is fun and they do cool mimosa flights. Kinda like Hash Kitchen but less aggressive. They definitely were BUSY. I recommend snagging spots at the bar because it was empty while the restaurant was on a wait.. (also it's faster service). They have a large selection of super random flavored liquors which I found fun. I'm new to this area and will absolutely be back read more

Unique twists on breakfast & lunch dishes in a bright, clean environment with nice ambiance and terrific service. My Eggs Benedict was delicious, as was my husband's Denver omelet, both served with tasty home-style potatoes. The wait staff all took turns checking on us frequently, bringing is anything we wanted; including extra Hollandaise sauce. Will definitely go back, want to try several of their interesting menu items, like the lemon-ricotta pancakes and steak Benedict. An added bonus is supporting a small family-run business. Waited 30 mins over quoted time to be seated. Then it took an hour to get our food for 2 people. Iced coffee is great. Chicken n waffles has zero flavor. I've never had such bland chicken before, adding syrup didn't help. Bacon was floppy. The food is always hit or miss here. I'd rather wait at Hash or Butter and have amazing food. Our bill was $60 for 2 people which is on the higher side for subpar food. I don't think we'll be back. read more

I woke up with a rumblin in my tumblin and asked Siri how to stop it. A search on google came up with Yolk Cafe. The moment they opened I placed my breakfast order online for pickup, which was very easy and user friendly. I jumped in the whip and picked up my order. The restaurant is really nice with a full bar. My food was very good! I got the Denver omelet and side of biscuits and gravy. I am a traditional hash brown guy, but the potatoes are really good, sliced thin and pan fried. Would definitely get them again. The food reminds me of a good ole Midwestern breakfast. I will have to dine in and try a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. Eating at the Yolk Cafe will not be a disappointment. read more

Hearty, flavorful, and exactly the kind of home-cooked meal I was craving. I also picked up the chicken noodle soup, which featured tender chicken and fresh herbs. It was light but incredibly comforting and tasted like something made from scratch with care. Of course, I couldn't stop there and also grabbed two bureks, one cheese and one spinach. Both were generous portions, flavorful, and delicious. They made for the perfect savory additions to the meal. But the desserts were the real standouts! I tried two different desserts, and both were unbelievably fresh, creamy, and utterly craveable. They were the kind of desserts where you take one bite and immediately want another. Title: A Breakfast Gem with Friendly Staff and Heavenly Chai Lattes! 5 out of 5 stars If you're searching for a delightful breakfast spot with outstanding service, look no further! The Breakfast Bar has captured my heart with their warm hospitality and scrumptious offerings. From the moment I stepped in, the staff greeted me with genuine smiles and made me feel right at home. Their attentiveness and friendliness truly set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food. Oh boy, their Eggs Benedict were out of this world! The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and velvety. I couldn't help but savor every bite. It's evident that the kitchen takes great pride in preparing top-notch dishes. But the real star of the show was their Chai Latte. I consider myself a chai enthusiast, and their version is a dream come true. The balance of spices was spot-on, and the steamed milk added a lovely creaminess. It was so good that I couldn't resist ordering a second cup! The cozy ambiance and charming decor added to the overall charm of this gem. It's a place where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a peaceful morning. Whether you're a local looking for a regular breakfast spot or a traveler passing through town, I highly recommend The Breakfast Bar. Their friendly staff, great Egg Benedict, and amazing Chai Latte make it a must-visit destination for breakfast lovers. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable menu. Bon appétit! read more

Sometimes it absolutely amazes me what people will complain about. Some girl that posted was offended and felt she was being profiled as a bilingual hispanic, and persecuted because she was overcharged on a minimum party gratuity because one person didn't show? Jesus, are you kidding me. This person that posted the review, who's name begins with an "A", compliments the food as excellent, but the service was bad ? Seriously stop, just stop ! You have no idea what you are talking about, not a clue. Every single server that works there is outstanding, and nobody attends that restaurant more than I do, so yes, I have the right to say what is not an opinion, but a fact, period. Jodie, Nathan, Key, Tonya, Ava, Bree, Raya, Julie, Lexie, Arlo, and several more work their tails off to please every single person that walks in to eat. These are not servers, they are family, so do me a favor ? Don't say anything to criticize this group of extraordinary people. If you were really in the service industry, you should understand how hard waiting tables on people who complain over nothing is, or others that try to play the race card when it is not applicable. The best thing to be done here is to take that post down, it is absolutely erroneous and an unfair judgement of people who work so hard and do nothing but show others kindness, and sometimes to others that dont even deserve it. The food and service is outstanding, end of story! Please be kind, dont be cruel or fabricate to fit your feelings, thank you, J read more

Overall rating: 4/5 Wait: 4.5/5 Arrival time: Saturday 8:30am rsvp Food: 4/5 Order: caramel latte, orange juice, banana pecan pancakes, breakfast croissant Service: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Worth it, would come back I recently visited Sunshine Breakfast Bar on a Saturday morning at 8:30am with a reservation, and overall I had a good experience. The wait time was not bad, considering the busy weekend rush, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I would give the wait time a 4.5 out of 5. As for the food, I tried the caramel latte and orange juice which were both delicious and refreshing. However, the banana pecan pancakes were not quite to my taste, so I would suggest trying the French toast instead. The croissant was good and definitely worth a try. The service was efficient and friendly, though at times it felt a bit rushed. The prices were reasonable and fair, given the quality and variety of food and drinks offered. Overall, I would rate my experience at Sunshine Breakfast Bar as 4 out of 5. I would recommend giving it a try and would definitely come back for more. read more

I recently visited Sunshine Breakfast Bar and had a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly service. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so inviting and cozy, it felt like I was dining in a friend's kitchen. I ordered a coffee and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The barista really knew their stuff and made the perfect cup of joe. The food was equally as impressive. I ordered the avocado toast and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Sunshine Breakfast Bar. We were seated fairly quickly ( less than 15 min) on a weekday morning and sat outside to avoid the cacophony of indoor conversations. Beverages: Decent. Kids got the fresh squeezed orange juice (lot of pulp), and a strawberry banana smoothie that didn't taste like real fruit though the menu stated it, and had a weird texture that coats the throat. Breakfast: Kids had the scrambled eggs which were reminiscent of the ones found at a hotel continental breakfast; wet and unnatural tasting. Apple Cinnamon Pancakes looked unappealing and tasted just as disappointing - regular pancakes with what looked like a can of apple pie filling dumped unceremoniously on top. Banana Cream Pancakes had decent banana slices but the "cream" was an odd glaze that had a chalky aftertaste. New Mexico Skillet with over easy eggs: Eggs were drenched in oil yet, remarkably, the best part of this dish. The hash browns were sliced rounds of undercooked, unseasoned potatoes. They were topped with onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes, all unseasoned and dismally soft. It was sprinkled with cheese, and a pile of chorizo just dumped in one spot on the plate. Certainly seemed cooked separately as nothing meshed on the plate. Oh, and a few sad pieces of underripe avocado. This American cuisine was devoid of character and taste. We took a few bites of each item, looked at each other in disappointment, and gladly left the remainder on the table. Avoid if you have taste buds accustomed to good food.
