I strongly suggest that if you need work done, go elsewhere. Bill has no respect for his work crew - refers to them as Polacks, which was my first clue that we should not have used Sunset.
Sunset removed our light fixtures and placed them in trees, not in boxes or bags for safe keeping out of the elements. One light fixture was broken- Sunset replaced our 3 candelabra light fixture with one that looked as if it belonged in a prison yard, complete with wire cage around the bulb. We were never told what had happened until we complained and asked where our front porch light was. They had no right to select and install the light fixture without our approval.
Sunset removed an outside outlet - never taped live wires or protected the outlet in any way. It shorted out in the rain, leaving us to come home late one evening to no power in three quarters of our house. The circuit breaker that outlet was on would not reset. We were without power until the next morning. Again - no call from Sunset that they had caused our power to go out.
When Bill called to see how we liked the completed job, we informed him that it was not complete. The front door trim was still bare wood, caulking had not been completed, the gutter slanted toward our front door, not the downspout, along with a few other problems. A good businessman would have checked the job completion before making that call.
Sunset did a very poor job with window wraps - many gaps with ill fitted and uneven corners. When Arthur came to check - his comments were - "every roll is different - what do you want me to do? Put nails in them?" We just wanted a decent job without openings for ants and bugs.
Bill assured us that the crew would clean up every day before leaving. Every evening, we had to sweep our driveway to remove nails or screws before pulling into our garage. One day there was no cleanup at all, piles of sawdust, Tyvek paper scraps, nails, and general debris was left on our patio. After several requests, it still took a full week to have the pallet removed from our front yard. "A special truck had to pick it up."
When it came time for the bill- the amount we paid as a deposit was listed as less, and replaced wood was calculated at a higher rate than stated on our contract. The figures in his column didn't even add up.
