They dug from back downspot to street, laid new piping, added stone by street and backfilled the dirt. Excellent. The cement side was a different issue. I dealt with Ed R. The cement work is subed. When the crew came to dig up the sidewalk I saw on ring camera that they did not remove one of the contracted pads (they were supposed to do 4 pads but only did 3). I contacted Ed R. while they were still at my house. Later that day the three pads were cemented in. That part of sidewalk was well done (even if not all pads were done). A month later a new crew came to dig up the fourth pad, they did mine and the neighbors. Horrible job. They stomped all over my new grass, The new pad near my other ones was too high so they leveled it down the last three inches but you can notice that it's not level, the pads by the grass are sloped down (maybe they didn't pour enough cement), not very smooth surface, and when they cleaned up they did it by my decorative curb (leaving stains on it). He told me it was not up to code and he said that's why it wasn't working. He worked for about an hour and a half installing a vent for our pump toilet system. I never saw him do anything but install the vent. He never looked at the pump system at all. And obviously that was the problem. But he said it was fixed and I paid well over $600. Being a basement toilet, it wasn't used much, so several days later I discovered it still was not working. I called and they sent the same guy to fix it properly. He couldn't have complained more about actually having to finishing the job this time. He actually said to me, "are you on some kind of medication or something?" blaming me for the job he never fixed the first time. He said that I was to blame for the pipes being clogged. When I asked him, are you saying that I, using it at most three times since you were here, am responsible for clogging the pipes? He paused for about 5 seconds and then said "yes". I know he never really checked things properly the first time, because I was checking on what he was doing. I called and left a message with the owner and of course he couldn't bother to respond to me, a customer... and on top of all else, the plumber started raising his voice at me. He obviously was caught lying regarding even looking for any other reason than the vent issue as to why it wasn't working. When I spoke to the plumbing manager, he told me that they have been in business 100 years? How did that help me?? The guy that was in my house, should not be anywhere near the home owner. My wife and I tried whatever we could do to unclog it, and just couldn't figure out why. We ended up calling around and trying to get general estimates. Depending on the task at hand, Bruce gave us the most reasonable quote and we decided to go with him. He was very responsive online and available the same day. Some of the plumbers had given us dates that were well into the following week, and almost twice the price. When Bruce arrived, he made sure he kept the work area clean, worked on our sink, and after we found out that the job needed was worse than we had initially thought, he encouraged me to look around in case I didn't want to go with him. The new project included sawing off the existing galvanized pipe to the laundry sink, which was severely clogged with corrosion and sediments, and having it replaced with PVC pipe she is replacement. Before I called Jeffrey Plumbing I did a lot of research on what my plumbing issue actually was. I…read morecalled the Town of Amherst Sewer Dept and had them put a camera down the main line and see if they could see what the problem was where my tap came into the main line. It ended up being there was major tree roots imbedded in the clay sewer lines that were originally used when my house was built. Why they would use clay pipes back then is beyond me...they are easily breakable, porous, and almost anything can infiltrate through the joints or breaks in these pipes like tree roots! Thank goodness PVC is used now. Needless to say I got a few estimates and ended up going with Jeffrey Plumbing to do the entire sewer line replacement from the house to the main line which is near the street. They came over and gave me a thorough explanation of what needed to be done in great detail, they inserted a camera in my line to show me the roots and cracks (basically there was a pen diameter size space of flow that's how many roots were in there), and answered all of my questions (and I ask alot of questions lol). I was highly impressed by the professionalism and honesty of Jeffrey Plumbing from the start. The job was then performed and it was completed in one day! They did a fantastic job! This is a family business and Jeffrey and his sons perform all the work.
