That never happened. They insisted my ductwork was too small and came and put bigger ductwork in. It did not solve the problem as the temperature went up outside. The temperature went up in the house. The air-conditioning was running all day long never shut off. After seven years, the air-conditioning blew the oil i'll cover which I was told by a reputable company because it was too small. That's why that happened. I fought with them. They refused to put a bigger one in. I would never hire them ever again. They do what they wanna do and want you to pay for it. Air conditioner lasted 7 years and I had a 5-year warranty and I paid good money for it and I received junk. They need to listen to the customer and give the customer what they're paying for and what they want and stop arguing with the customer

Of course, we considered some different options, but thankfully, we didn't look any further and decided to stick with Horbett's. After the first experience our feedback was very positive, so why not? The day we called, the person handling our case put us on a waiting list. It sounded serious, but she called us back the next day, and within 30 minutes, a repairman was at our door to take care of the problem. They do a great job with scheduling, so the technicians don't waste their time. The repairman explained everything thoroughly that he was doing, including showing test results etc. during the whole process. Definitely, it was an honest and professional approach to customers. He really checked everything to be sure what the exact issue is with the air conditioning unit. After about an hour, he left. Our house started to feel like a happy place again. "Happy wife, happy life," right? ;) Another heatwave is coming this weekend. Horbett Heating & Cooling did a great job, and thanks for that.

Edit: To respond to the reply from the business owner (because I'm will come with receipts), we called because it was 52 degrees and dropping in our house where we have animals. The furnace was running but not working. The guy came and told us to take up the carpet the seller placed over a vent that was causing our furnace to overheat and it started heating up immediately. And as for the state of our house, we did have numerous piles of boxes as we had just moved in a few days previous. Insinuating we're messy or something was extremely unprofessional and rude. Also I attached a picture of the time he offered us that was 4-6pm, he makes it sound like they came out at 8pm to fix it. I already messaged him privately telling him if he had come to me and told me he thought three stars was more fair I would have changed it but after that response he earned a one star. Edit 2: I did want to point out one last thing, even if we hadn't just moved in and we were just box hoarders or something it's a really awful mindset to have that we don't deserve y'all to come out and fix our heating when it's close to or in the negatives outside. My old Rheem furnace was going to be 29 years old in February. It had done its job and heated my 3000 ft.² 108 year-old home sufficiently, over the years, save for four years ago I had a scare in the middle of February when the temperature went into the single digits here for a week. It just died. I called one of the radio HVAC cos. Big mistake. They did not try to restart my furnace. They said I had to replace it. I called someone else and had it restarted and it lasted four years. I decided to replace it this winter before it broke again. I reached out through the Yelp search tool, and had six different well-known local HVAC companies contact me. I didn't select any of them, and instead I requested an estimate from a company who had done Plumbing work for me, that year. They came out and took photos of my furnace, and gave me a very thorough estimate and suggested that I get a heat pump to replace the air-conditioning unit outside, because a heat pump is more efficient, and the unit was getting near the end of its life cycle outside, and there were rebates offered by both national fuel and the federal government they were going to expire at the end of 2025. I inquired about replacing the humidifier and he said the 15-year-old one I had was fine. They spec'd a Carrier system. I also reached out to a company that emphasized its 25 five star reviews on Yelp. They came out took pictures of the old furnace too. They told me that they really don't do heat pumps and I should just replace my unit outside with a standard air-conditioning unit. The owner informed me via writing that I could either get a Heil or a Tempstar furnace. They are the same unit, and they slap whatever plastic name tags are available??? I did discover that this was partly true. I then somehow found JP Heating & Cooling and decided to call them and they were very easy to schedule an estimate. Jim, the owner came out. He asked me about the air in the house and did I feel that it was clean and that the humidifier was working. And I told him no. And he told me what size furnace I should get and I definitely need a heat pump outside to replace the HVAC unit. He also said I needed a new humidifier and he also said based upon the size of my house the 8 inch ductwork downstairs was not sufficient and that I needed to get 12 inch ductwork around the furnace to make the unit work more efficiently. I asked him why he didn't photograph the furnace and he said because "I measured down here, and I don't need to see what you had, to know what size furnace you are going to need! So of the three estimates that I received, JP Heating & Cooling was the highest by 20%! However, I knew they were going to do a lot more work than the other people, and I trusted them to do it right. He spec'd all Trane equipment. He ended up putting a 5 inch filter in. They ended up upgrading the circuit breakers in my one year-old 200 amp panel. He rewired everything. Jim's dad even came in one day to do work! It took approximately four days straight to complete the installation. BTW, We were never without heat very long! They probably worked an average of 8 hours a day. The equipment is impressive and well-made. The heat pump outside is substantial. More so than the Carrier Heat Pump. I am very happy that I hired JP Heating & Cooling. I would never hire anyone else to do Heating work ever again. I probably used a half a dozen different HVAC people here over 35 years. If you need your system upgraded, you've got to call Jim. They will do it right. I am going to hopefully get over $5000 back and rebates and tax credits so it helps minimize the impact. He has been back to my house a couple times to adjust the humidifier. He even suggested that I may need to get a steam unit and he would give me a credit towards the old unit and adjust the bill if I chose to move forward. But he thinks the house is so large that it's doing the best they can and I agree with him. How many contractors would give you a credit towards a three week old humidifier? Hire them.

On Sunday the carbon monoxide detectors went off and National Fuel shut down our gas. Levels from the furnace were over 10k, plus we had gas leaks. We were told to call our furnace company and a plumber. Superior refused to come out... they don't do pipes. Plumber and National Fuel couldn't turn heat back on until furnace was fixed. We called again.....6 times. No return call or text. Nothing. Not even to say, sorry we're too busy. 36 hours of no heat in December! So much for 24 hour service! A call would've made all the difference.
