Black Russian Bagel with Cream Cheese, Lox, Tomato, & Onion
Allie G.

I've literally been coming to Sunrise Bagels since I could eat solid foods (26 YEARS), and it hasn't changed a bit. The bagels are consistently good and the service is fine for a bagel shop in New Jersey - not overly warm, but definitely NOT unfriendly. I stopped in today for a Black Russian Bagel with cream cheese, lox, tomato, and onion (just as good as always). At 8AM on a Saturday, there was basically no line and we were out of there in 10 minutes. This place will forever be my go-to in the area! Side note: the bagels in California are horrendous, so my mom once flew with Sunrise Bagels to visit me - just as delicious after a 6 hour flight!

Cajun Chicken Wrap

Wow. That's all I can say I ordered the Cajun chicken wrap which was spicy but very tasty with honey mustard; also got the Manhattan which had so much mozzarella which was hot and melted when I bit into it extremely delicious! I shared with my friends we both had half of each sandwich and it was so delicious we had sauce dripping down our faces, so glad we ordered ahead and picked it up because the line was out the door on a Tuesday and I can see why! We will be back to try the rest of this menu.

My sister and I stopped in this morning for some breakfast. Having fasted I was hungry so the choice of the Meat Lovers Omelete platter was a no brainer! The platter came with home fries and a bagel Of choice with butter. When my platter was delivered to our table I was like "WOW"! The omelette was huge-contained a loaded heap of crispy bacon, ham slices, two sausage patties and Taylor Ham slices. The home fries were served in foil on a separate plate and had nicely cooked green peppers and fried onions-tasty! My everything bagel was nice and chewy. However they missed the butter , no biggie had to butter myself. I honestly could not finish my platter My sis got the Western omelette platter same big loaded omelette loaded with ham , green peppers and onions, she didn't even miss her usual add on of cheese. She opted for toast instead of a bagel and it was also missing the butter which they gave us a container of which was plenty. The store was very clean and had indoor and outdoor seating. I would definitely come again!

Western Omelet with Cheddar Cheese

Found this little gem by accident. Stopped in to get a bagel but after looking at the menu, I decided to get the Western Omelet Platter. It came with a bagel or toast and home fries. The Western Omelet is made with 3 eggs and includes your choice of cheese, which I chose cheddar. Served with a bagel or toast and these absolutely delicious home fries. My only complaint was that the toast was not buttered. The omelet is so big, that I couldn't finish it. It's truly enough for 2 people. The potatoes are so good, but again, large portion, couldn't finish it. Best part, it was less than $8! Unheard of! So delicious, reasonable, huge portion...what more could you ask for? I highly recommend you to try this place! You will not be sorry! Covid info: Employees wore masks. Customers are not required to wear masks. Open for dine in, delivery and take out. Social distancing is followed.

They just slapped 4 slices of American on the sandwich and just didn't melt it. Just lazy.

I got a Taylor ham egg and cheese here 4 times now, and every time the cheese is not melted.

Sun Rise Bagels is by for the best bagel shop I've ever been to in my whole. Not only is the food quality and delicious but the place is so clean you can eat off the floors. As a former chef "Sunrise Bagels " one of few places we're I would eat ! Delicious, quality, customer service, great prices and CLEAN! Try the Pine lakes with capers !

NO ACCOUNTABILITY for their mistakes! DO NOT eat here. Placed an order on-line via Uber Eats. Ordered western omelette platter, Taylor ham and egg bagel WITHOUT cheese and one with cheese. What I received was 2 taylor ham and eggs sandwiches WITH cheese. My daughter has a dairy allergy and could not eat. Upon calling sunrise, I was told they could not help me and I had to call Uber Eats. Seriously? The $1.10 it costs to make the sandwich they couldn't tell me they'd could make the correct one and I could just pick it up? While Uber Eats delivered my food, it sure as heck did not make it. And Sunrise, who did, did not accept accountability for their mistake. I will never order from them again.

Bagel with cream cheese

What you see here is an over priced and under delivered bagel purchase. This bagel is a mini bagel with what was supposed to be extra extra extra cream cheese. Ok first of all, this bagel was $4.50... they charged me $2.50 for me requesting extra cream cheese. This bagel is not filled with $2.50 extra amount of cream cheese. I'm writing a review because this is the second time they charged me an astronomical rate for a MINI bagel with extra cream cheese. Only go here if you want your day to be ruined by an over priced under delivered bagel.

Sort of shocked by the 2.5 overall rating. Food and service are as good as any of the local bagel shops.

This place is trash. Workers are rude, unorganized, openly fighting with each other and the bagels are trash.

We usually come when the owner is present, and the experience is always fantastic. Unfortunately, our visit this past Tuesday (which honestly should be Taco Tuesday) missed the mark. Our waitress was new and struggled to explain several menu items, which led to some confusion. We ordered tacos, queso with beans, nachos, and chips with guacamole. The order came out incorrect, and the queso was a major disappointment--it arrived as a bowl of grease, completely separated and inedible. The tacos were very small, light on filling, and lacked the bold seasoning and heartiness we've come to expect here. Honestly, it wasn't the usual Guacamole quality. What made it more frustrating was that the wait staff didn't seem very helpful in correcting the issues or explaining what went wrong. While we noticed the owner wasn't in that day and chalk some of this up to her absence, a restaurant still needs to run smoothly when the owner takes time off--burnout is real, and strong staff support is key. We truly don't want to hurt this business. We drive a distance to come here and still consider it one of our favorite spots. That said, $90 for two meals, one appetizer, and a side of queso and beans, with this experience, felt disappointing. I'm leaving four stars because we know how great Guacamole can be, even though this visit was closer to a two-star experience. I hope management sees this as constructive feedback and uses it to help train newer staff--this place is too good not to get back to its usual standard.

I called-in my order for 1 Spinachio's Pizza - what their known for, which "features fresh spinach marinated in garlic and extra virgin olive oil, combined with our secret Spinachio mix, pecorino romano cheese, and mozzarella for a rich, flavorful bite. " The woman told me to pick it up in 20-min., and I arrived at the 20-minute-mark, I saw my pizza being taken out of the oven! What a sight! The inside of the restaurant is charming and unassuming, yet welcoming. The two ladies (owners?) were very kind in showing me the pie, and then with payment afterwards. Taste? Amazing. If you're a fan of hot spinach dips for appetizers, then this is not too far off --- in pizza-form, dare I saw, the superior form! I can see why they are recommended and highly rated. Of course, we ended with their fluffy golden Zeppoles! Major shout out to the lovely ladies that own and operate Spinachio. Proving that women can run great pizzerias too! Do you ever have an experience at a place so bad that it ruins the trajectory of your whole day?…read moreThat was my morning at Jackie Smalls. I don't give out one-stars on principle unless the food is inedible or something egregious happens but I feel in this case it is warranted. This is my third time at Jackie Smalls. My first, I thought the avo toast was great. Second time I got a very bland breakfast burrito. My third, today, I brought my infant son and decided to dine in. I asked for a high chair and once seated was told by my "waiter" that he could not take my order but I had to order at the front. First issue was this high chair. Nobody knew how to adjust the straps including me, and it was some minimal little aesthetic thing that looked like he could easily topple out of. This is important later. Anyways no big deal with the ordering, front guy was accommodating and let me order from my seat. I ordered the Smalls Scramble for me and French toast for my son with the syrup and raspberries on the side, no pistachios or whip. Food takes a good bit to come out, which is no biggie either. When it arrives, they set down the French toast plate with a knife (a knife knife not a butter knife) on it in front of my son. Ok not great but I hand them the knife back. Then I try the food. Honestly, I'm not sure what to say about the food but...yikes. The eggs were certainly not soft scrambled, and the toast did not look buttered, and the weak potatoes were somewhat like a thick flaccid potato chip drenched in truffle oil and, by the way, not more than a speck of salt on anything. It looked pretty but that was about it. The French toast was deep fried or air fried and it was just not good. Sorry, no other way to say it. So I go to ask for two things: salt, and to inquire as to whether the multi-grain toast has nuts since I have an allergy and it looked concerning. I keep having to go up to these counters and leave my baby unattended in his unstable high chair because nobody will come to me and keep making me get up. I had to ask like five people about the bread until someone pulled out a binder and started looking for allergens. Everyone was just pointing me to the next person and many seemed to simply not understand my question due to a language barrier. I get my salt, and this is some COARSE salt. So I couldn't even fix the seasoning. Not flaky, but like coarse and pebbly for pickling or seasoning steaks, not for food. While I'm up and bouncing from person to person I keep gesturing at my son and nobody will come to my table. In the meantime, he smushed the raspberries and spilled the syrup and I'm back and forth between my conversation and keeping my son in his chair. At the end, I just didn't trust these people's knowledge of anything and could not eat any of my food but brought it home for my husband. It's one thing to serve food that needs a bit of work, but you need to at least offer normal table salt for folks to fix it. It's another thing to have the majority of your staff not know about allergens or how to navigate your high chairs. Also that food needed more than a little bit of work. I will say though those pancakes did look good. I will not be posting pictures for this review because I don't want to mislead with the pretty plating.
