The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. But, I can say that over a period of several months, I had excellent communication with many helpful people. Skyler in customer service was my primary contact and that made all the difference. We were later charged $500 with no prior breakdown or explanation of the fee. I clearly communicated that I would be the one paying this charge. Despite that, the service department reached out directly to the buyer and asked who would be paying. This unnecessary contact created confusion and complications during the escrow process that could have easily been avoided. The lack of transparency on the warranty transfer fee and the poor internal communication caused more stress than necessary. Businesses handling real estate-related services should be more careful with both contract clarity and how they communicate with parties involved in a transaction.

Keith suggested that because it was an old Solar City system installed before hardly anyone ever needed removal and reinstall, my contract probably showed TESLA would be obligated to remove and replace the 20 panels for only $500 total. I proceeded to check my original contract and sure enough, it absolutely showed 499 rather than $6000. Apparently, this changed shortly after Tesla bought SolarCity. I texted him back thanking him for his honesty which I've never doubted and as I've worked with Keith before and can vouch for his complete honesty--sometimes brutally so. If only all solar contractors were this trustworthy. Tesla won't be doing it anywhere near as promptly, but I can put a tarp over the panels for a couple months to save a net $5,500. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He was extremely knowledgeable about solar and made the process of designing our system straightforward and easy. Because I had travel plans, we couldn't start immediately, but the Syndy team scheduled our installation for Jul 27 - 28. Everything went exactly as planned. The materials arrived on Jul 24, and Martin and his crew, showed up right on time at 7:45 AM on Jul 27. They worked incredibly hard, efficiently completing most of the installation that day and returning the next day to finish the remaining panels and cleanup. That evening, seeing our panels generating solar energy for the first time was an amazing feeling! PG&E installed the Tesla Backup Switch a few days later, and everything seemed to be moving perfectly - until our Livermore city inspection on Aug 7. Unfortunately, we failed because an approved heat detector had not been installed. I was extremely disappointed. It felt like having an amazing present sitting right in front of me but not being able to open it! There were a few additional hiccups, but Jason stepped in, took ownership of the heat detector issues, and worked to get everything resolved. Very Disappointed With the Service and How This Was Handled…read more I purchased a new A/C and furnace system from Honey's Air & Solar around 2022-2023, expecting that buying a new system would mean reliable equipment and good customer service. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience. About a year after the installation, in 2024, the system started leaking from a flare. Honey's came out, repaired the flare, and added Freon. Since then, I've had a friend who owns a local HVAC company replace my air filter every six months and check the system, so I have continued to maintain it. Around July of this year, I noticed water coming through the sheetrock around the furnace. I removed the filter and found that it was wet. I also noticed condensation on the copper lines, with water dripping onto the filter. The bottom of the filter housing had filled with water, causing damage to my drywall and the surrounding area. I called Honey's Air & Solar to explain what was happening, and instead of feeling like they were interested in helping me figure out why a relatively new system was leaking again, I was accused of neglecting the system and essentially told it was my fault. They eventually sent out a technician, Chris. He couldn't find an obvious leak at the time, but told me the system appeared to be leaking again and that he needed to add Freon and dye so they could hopefully locate the leak later. I was told the service call would be $89 plus the Freon, which came out to around $122. I was also told they would need to return to locate the leak. Then on 8/1/26, I received a message from Marina saying that my $12.99 service plan payment had failed. I was confused because I had never knowingly signed up for a service plan. When I questioned it, I was told, essentially, "You signed for it, so you did." The way this was communicated came across as very condescending and rude. If I had been properly informed about the service plan and what I was agreeing to, I may have considered keeping it, but after that interaction, I told them I didn't want it. Now I'm being told that just coming back to locate the leak will cost $725. And if they determine that it's a new leak, I'm being told the repair could cost more than $2,000. This is what I find extremely frustrating: this is supposed to be a new system. It has already had a leak in the past, has been maintained, and is now leaking again and causing water damage inside my home. I will give Anthony, the service manager, credit for offering to cut the leak-search charge in half. I appreciate that gesture, but I'm still left wondering why I'm facing hundreds or potentially thousands of dollars in costs on a relatively new system that has already had problems. My biggest issue isn't simply the money. It's the way this situation has been handled and the feeling that the responsibility is being pushed onto the homeowner rather than Honey's standing behind the system they sold and installed. If you're considering purchasing a new HVAC system, I strongly recommend asking very detailed questions about the warranty, service plan, leak repairs, and exactly what costs you could be responsible for if something goes wrong after the first year. At this point, I expected much better from a company that sold me a new HVAC system.

I even reinstalled my previous router with no luck. Short story, I called Semper Solaris and they schedule me a technician for a whopping $500 service fee upfront without even diagnosing the problem. Not covered by warranty and per their management about waving the fee or reducing the fee, "Sorry, nothing they could do." I cancelled the technician.
