His explanations were clear and not pressured, like many of the sales people were. And he was very responsive. And the others, whose names I would have to search deeper in my memory banks to get, were equally great. But I am adding to my review because of the efforts of Christi, the office manager, who went above and beyond in getting us a rebate from PG&E. We kept on putting it off and she persisted. And we got a tidy sum from her efforts. So, many thanks Valley Solar.

Valley Solar has been a great company to work with on my solar installation. When December came around, they were on time and were able to install the support frame and panels in one day. They were quick and efficient and met their installation date. It has now been ~3 years and the panels are working well and producing just as advertised. There have been a couple of minor issues that have come up, but Brad and his team are very kind and have a great customer service department. I would highly recommend Valley Solar to do your project if you're looking for a solar installer.

The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

My wife and I had a very concerning experience with United Solar Electric regarding their business…read moreethics and refund policies. We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.

Then, I found ROI Solar. I spoke directly to the owner. He was extremely transparent, knowledgeable, and personable. I can say that about everyone who I have dealt with in this company. They came out and have been working with me and the manufacturer (my hardware is still under warranty) to address the issue. I would recommend ROI for solar, batteries and service. Thank you ROI!

Our mutual client contracted an installation of a solar and battery project with a Tesla Powerwall 3 in April 2025. Shortly after installation, the installer informed the customer that the battery was inoperable, and a request was underway with Tesla to replace the unit. Tesla refused repeatedly over 4 months to replace the battery, citing false claims voided the warranty such as acts of nature which caused the damage. (In Fremont CA install location there has been no rain, earthquakes, domestic terrorism or lightening in the past 6 months, typical warranty-voiding conditions) Sean detailed his numerous follow-ups in writing with numerous Tesla representatives, leveraging ROI's installer relationship purchasing dozens if not hundreds of batteries from Tesla. As of this writing there;s still with no resolution from the manufacturer. The owner Sean Matthews personally visited the install site several times and kept the customer informed of status and progress. By early September, with still no resolution from Tesla, ROI agreed to incur out of pocket cost to replace the Tesla PW3 at installer expense. This experience is a testimony of both above and beyond the call of duty customer service from ROI and abysmal support from Tesla. May this review serve those considering ROI and Tesla in their solar plans.

My parents purchased solar from a HORRIBLE company that sounds a lot like 'SunFun'. After they passed away, and the house was sold...we were STILL making the monthly payments for over a year!!! That SunFun organization REFUSED to transfer the solar to the new homeowner, and eventually stopped taking or acknowledging our calls. It wasn't until we had to threaten the new homeowner with a lawsuit that SunFun finally transferred ownership. Due to this, we could not trust any of these solar companies...that is, until Kevin Bedard came to our home, and explained everything in great detail to my husband and I. He took the time to hear about our concerns, and he showed us how he truly cared. That same week, we spoke to two other families who shared their positive experiences about Ambrose Solar that made us feel that we would be in great hands. We had FINALLY FOUND A PEACE about getting solar on our home; KNOWING we would be in good hands, and we were ALL IN. It's been six months now, and we are beyond pleased with our solar panels, and the two Tesla batteries we have purchased. We are true fans, who have NOTHING but RAVE REVIEWS for this company. If you don't have solar, or if you need to add solar, Kevin Bedard is your man! and Ambrose is your company. Every employee has been amazing and helpful. In a world where customer service has taken a dump, this company has remained a class act. So again...if you are considering solar, call Ambrose, and tell them Albert and Rhonda sent you.

Sadly after they were turned back on. I still had no power. I was told that I needed to contact an electrician. After reaching out to about 5 different electricians and then they wanted an arm and a leg. I gave my last phone call to A&A electric and I had explained to Paul the same exact thing that I had been telling every other company. Paul who I assume is the owner of A&A electric. Explained to me that since I live in a complex that I would need to go outside to the meters and there would be a breaker that needs to be flipped back on. Everyone that I spoke to didn't bother to tell me this. They wanted me to make an appointment for them to come out to look and see what the problem was. And then charge me an arm and a leg! Along with quotes for same day service call costing me over $400 dollars! I can't tell you how much it meant to me to have someone like Paul there to help me out and not just wanting to make a buck! Old school concern and care. It was over 90 degrees and I hadn't had any power since 8am so I was almost in tears by this time. So I can assure you that if I ever ever need an electrician it will be A&A that I call! Honest and down to earth but most importantly Paul but honesty in front of making a quick buck off me! I can't say enough good things about Carlos Gomez from Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions…read more I've been working on a non-standard solar setup using an EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra X and EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 3, and finding a contractor who truly understood this type of system was incredibly difficult. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. Given everything: His technical expertise The level of detail and care The ability to integrate with my existing system The fast turnaround And the much better pricing Choosing Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was a complete no-brainer. Carlos is knowledgeable, meticulous, honest, and genuinely passionate about doing things the right way. After meeting him, I completely understand why this company has such strong Yelp reviews. If you're in the Bay Area and need electrical or solar work done the right way, especially for a non-standard or custom system, I highly recommend Carlos and the team at Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions.
