What an amazing spot for Sunday brunch! When we arrived, the staff were super friendly. They were busy, but got a table cleaned and seated us quickly and easily accommodated my father who uses a wheelchair. Crystal was a delight to work with!! She was so friendly and attentive but not overwhelming; she checked on us at just tad the coffee was running low. The menu has a very wide variety to make all bellies happy! The food was prepared quickly and delivered to the table with a smile. We will definitely return for more wonderful service and food! read more

Made reservations, yet when we showed up, because our name was not hand written in the notebook, they could not seat us. what more can you do besides make a reservation. we had the email showing the reservation, and never received anything saying there was an issue. POOR management!! read more

Excellent spot for my daughter who has dairy, egg, & peanut allergies. We ordered her the vegan breakfast and we all enjoyed it because there was no cross contamination and rashes on her skin after she ate most of the safe food plate. I totally appreciate establishments that listen to their customers regarding food allergies and ensure safe cooking practices to prevent cross contamination of allergens. This place has great food. I had the fried grits with peach compote.... Oh my goodness...it was so delicious. Wife got the breakfast bowl and daughter had the French toast, all fantastic. I'm guessing on a Sunday after church timeframe this place has to have a huge wait list, but we went here on a Saturday around 1pm and got sat right away. You gotta try this place. read more

They know what they doing at this gem. Everything was awesome. I had the egg Benedict and it can with onion ring instead of ham. Did not miss it at all. Probably healthier. Love the sauce. I've had SunnySide Cafe booked marked for quite awhile, and finally got the opportunity to dine there. I took my great niece out for breakfast for her birthday. It was a nice sunny Sunday morning drive from Easley to Patrick Square in Clemson. I arrived there at 7:00am. It was nice and cool this morning, so it was ok to sit outside and wait for the door to open. The door was unlocked and opened at exactly 7:30am. My niece and I were seated, the waitress told us to take our time looking at the menu, if we had any questions just ask and she would answer them. My niece decided on the SunnySide Breakfast and I decided to build my own omelette. There's was a little of every thing to put in an omelette on the menu. I had my omelette with cheddar cheese, applewood bacon, tomatoes, green bell peppers and onions. An omelette order comes with a bowl of local cheese grits and a bread choice, my choice was a biscuit with apple butter. From the Hatch a plan on the menu, y'all I had the try the fried grits cake. That thing was so delicious and a must try if you haven't tried it. My niece's breakfast came with two eggs cooked your way, applewood bacon cheese grits and a biscuit. We both enjoyed our breakfast. They were not skimpy on the fillings in the omelette. It was full of bacon and it was good. I do plan on visiting the SunnySide cafe again real soon! read more

Went both days in a row that we were staying at Patrick Square Inn. Yummy breakfast and Mimosas!

Great breakfast! I can only review early morning food LOL.....good selection of items not found on other menus. Must try the fried grit patties with peach compote....had those 2 out of 3 visits...hard for me to order anything else...my 3 friends also enjoyed their meals. Four stars only because it's very bright in the restaurant (Sunnyside lol) and the seating feels cafeteria-like. BUT good coffee!!! read more

Delicious fresh Local farm food. Grandma loved the biscuits with the dark brown color on the top . DON'T DRINK THE TAP WATER!! . Pure Vermont maple syrup perfect compliment to the meal. The Applewood bacon was probably the best thing on the menu. We ordered The Werks (GF) omelette and ala carte pancakes and bacon. As small as Clemson is, it was the only place with a wait. However the staff was really good about cleaning the tables to expedite seating. Kudos to customer service! read more

I had been referred by friends for a great breakfast. I thought I would take my finance for Fathers Day. We arrived with a few people waiting for a table in front of us. Hostess seated a party of 6 then a party of 2. We were then addressed, we requested to have a table outdoors. We could see two tables that were available. The hostess went out to view availability and asked if we would like to wait for the table to be cleaned. We agreed; not to know we would be waiting over a good 10 minutes for the table to be cleaned and prepared. When finally, after 10 minutes we're escorted to a table that clearly was not prepared to be used(no condiment holder, no silverware) that was around the side of the building. Again we waited; had to ask if someone was going to wait on us as well I asked if we could have the empty table in front. I was told it was promised to someone already and she couldn't give it away. As I sat observing more people came, were seated, while we still didn't have a server. Okay so the waitress came we ordered drinks and we asked for a sweet tea and we were served unsweetened tea. At this point I was clearly upset. Again I mentioned the table I wanted which was still empty. The server said she would have to check with the hostess. I decided before I lost my patience to let her know if she returned by the time we were walking away, I didn't appreciate the lack of service and we were going to just leave. This was a the worst experience at Sunny Side Cafe! read more

Went out on a limb and tried the pad thai chicken and waffles and was pretty disappointed. Not only did it look extreamly bland but the "pad thai" was just a peanut sauce over the otherwise bland chicken and waffle. I like the idea but the execution left something to be desired. Such an amazing hidden gem in Clemson, SC. Many people don't know about it because it is off of Issaqueens trail in Patrick square but their breakfast and brunch is amazing. Everything I've gotten there so far has not disappointed and I will for sure keep coming back. read more

I'm visiting South Carolina, what I found odd was two minutes after I got my breakfast the waitress was there with the bill on both occasions. It was if they were rushing you to finish and get out. Normally up north we're encouraged to stay longer and enjoy what's offered. I hope that practice might be reconsidered in the future. However I will visit again. read more

Can't say enough about the food, everything we had was good from the pancakes to the gravy to the B52 bomber burrito. Was excited to finally try this café. We decided on a late lunch on Saturday with our boys and I expected simple but delicious comfort food, nothing fancy but good. So disappointed. My salad was overloaded with almost frozen veggies and too little meat (was a Chef salad). The vinaigrette dressing was thick and gluey and tasted like mustard. The boys' food was overcooked and dried out, the bacon was like shredded wood and the sausage was barely warm and obviously straight out of a package, maybe microwaved. My husband's roast beef was good because it was Boar's Head but the cheese was obviously cheap and the whole thing looked tired and pre-prepared. My husband is a chef and we have lived in many places but good simple food is something we really enjoy. This does not fit the bill in any way. Worst 50$ I ever spent. read more

This place is fantastic! It's a little hidden gem! Our party of 6 loved all of our food. We had biscuits, French toast, eggs, bacon, and omelets. No complaints! My dad absolutely loved the coffee. As a disabled US Vet with a service dog, I was treated so rudely by 3 staff members! I traveled from so far just to check them out. We were so humiliated by the actions of the staff and not allowing me to even to speak to management. Hopefully, owners see my review. The Place Great location in Patrick Square. Spacious dining area and good support staff. Bench and chair seating. Great natural and room lighting... seems like a true sunny side cafe. Welcoming, clean and inviting atmosphere. The Menu The breakfast menu has many good offerings. Traditional breakfast offering and many with a taste of Sunnyside flair. There are vegetarian, gluten free and vegan offerings as well. Cheesy grits seem to find their way as sides on the breakfast and the lunch menu... why because they are good. Lunch has wraps, hot ham and cheese, philly steak, portabella burger, chicken salad and many salads choices. The Experience/Value/Service Scheduled our Newcomers of the Foothills group here for lunch. I was a little concerned because with a group size of 40+ service can be slow... We were pleasantly surprised as the kitchen and server staff rose to the occasion. Our food was all good and served very timely. Overall our group had a great experience.
