No one waited on us and couldn't even take a drink order and after 20 minutes of waiting we had to go! They did try to make it right by offering me free coffee and said, we can't take your order yet as there are 3 before you. So we would have had to stay there 30 minutes before an order could be taken !! I was shocked !!There wasn't even a waiting line..so I believe they are just short staffed Or short on cooks! Even though I haven't ate here, YET... I had to share my experience. Voting day, 2024 my husband and I drove by and was going to have breakfast here, after entering the restaurant, a gentleman said sit wherever you'd like to. It was so warm inside and being on oxygen I cannot handle the heat well.... So my husband said, it's okay... let's just go honey. As we were leaving, that gentleman (I believe was the owner) came outside and asked if anything was wrong. If he cared enough about two people leaving his restaurant, I can only imagine him caring even more that you had a pleasant experience with your meal! We checked out this little restaurant for lunch, but ordered off the breakfast menu. The service was very friendly. Our granddaughter had the choco-chip pancake. It filled the whole plate, and she really liked it. I had the French toast with cinnamon apples, and hubby had eggs, ham, hash browns and a biscuit. It pairs very well with their delicious fresh cut French fries. Breakfast is also fantastic! The owner/Chef Tony cooks the PERFECT over medium egg, which seldom arrives edible anywhere else! He also loves to provide fresh baked goodies daily, with delicious gluten free options as well. With over 25 years of cooking experience, it is obvious that this Chef loves what he does and the offerings here are sure to please even the toughest of critics, like my 4 year old Grandson who wants nothing but their craveable mashed potatoes and gravy! Sunnyside has quickly become our favorite family gathering spot! The wait staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. My daughter and I are new to the area and stumbled across Sunnyside Cafe Sunday on our way to Silver Lake Park. it's a charming little spot with some of the nicest waitresses I have encountered. The service was not only friendly, but also efficient. By the time we ordered, we decided that, as long as the food was at least edible, we would want to come back for the ambience and people alone. Needless to say, the food was excellent and the portions generous. My omelette had pot roast that was succulent, tender and made in-house fresh. The Staff were ALL friendly and helpful! So far we've only had breakfast there but it is delicious exactly like I wanted it over easy eggs crispy hashbrowns and crispy bacon I definitely recommend this place! We will be back to try the lunch menu !!!! read more
