Bought some Shrimp and Chicken Teriyaki along with an order of General Tso Chicken from this small teriyaki restaurant in Ballard. The Teriyaki over rice was tasty; shrimp was a bit salty. Teriyaki sauce was served on the side but needed a bit more for the rice. General Tso chicken was a bit dry and over fried resulting in some pieces being hard to chew. So there's this little joint I love to go to In algona/Auburn area that make me feel like the little kid in ratatouille. I am happy to announce that I have found an equal in Seattle on Aurora nevertheless. I've lived in the neighborhood for five years and never wanted to try Sunny Teryaki because I didn't think it would be good. I was happily very wrong! The teriyaki is perfectly cooked without being too sweet. I love the char on it and the portion sizes are perfect(ly large)! We've been back three times in the last couple weeks. I have been calling to this place for over 2 years, just take out since I live less than 500 feet's from this establishment. One of the grossest things about this place is the girl with the glasses (Grace is her name, I believe) who answers the phone and take orders. So rude!!! At this point, after many years, she don't remember my name, my voice, not even my usual order which is a Chicken Yakisoba, and always said that "we are not in Shoreline", when few blocks down there's a clear and big sign that said "City of Shoreline", even when is in Seattle... She's also passive-aggressive, barely smile and no phone ethic at all. They definitely loose a costumer due his rudeness in the phone ONE MORE TIME. I don't know how this rat hole still exist in a corner close home. Don't waste your money here. There's few Asians restaurants around with good costumer service and better prices. read more

I assume they are under new ownership, since chatty-man was no longer working there, and there was a sign hanging above the door that said "grand opening". Umm, the quality of the food has DEFINATELY gone up. I ordered spicy chicken teri with no rice and salad. No charge for substitution. Awesome portion of food. Chicken was grilled perfect- had char on it from being grilled, and not dry at all. The sauce. Oh, the hot spicy sauce they used on the chicken was excellent, almost too sweet but just on the verge of acceptable for my tastes, and spicy enough to wake up my mouth but not kill my tastebuds. The dressing was fresh and made from scratch- a little sweet sesame concoction that was good on the fresh not overly watery salad. So, i'd say come by and try them- the food's gotten a lot better since the first time I visited. read more

Slowest take out I've ever had. Ordered the almond chicken and had to wait ten minutes before the cashier came to take my order. Then waited another 45 minutes for my order to be cooked. It wasn't just my order, there was one guy passed out with his head in his hands at one of the tables and another couple chatting about how long the food was taking too. The pricing here is very reasonable though and the almond chicken wasn't bad. I will also say that it looked like they stayed open an extra couple minutes for me, but if I'm gonna spend 45 minutes waiting for my meal to be cooked I expect to be told before ordering or at least an apology when the food is finally handed to me. Classic Seattle hole-in-the-wall teriyaki place. Not too sweet and grilled with a little char which I love. Good value

Just a typical cheap fastfood hole-in-the-wall stripmall teriyaki joint. Except slower. More expensive. And really awful. Ordered two chicken teriyaki at the same time. The first one came out 25 minutes later, the second one took five minutes longer, despite the place being EMPTY and both orders being put in at the same time. The chicken was BURNT. I mean well past, "char broiled" and on to "this is really burnt on the outside" Amusingly they sell their "home made" sauces in 16oz take-home containers. I doubt they do much of a brisk trade in them though. Their hot-sauce isn't hot and tastes a lot like sriracha diluted in white vinegar. Their teriyaki sauce seems like it is made from soy, msg, sugar, and a thickening agent. And I swear to god, the salad dressing is exactly like I imagine crisco would be if you thinned it up with something and added a bunch of sugar. But they advertise that they sell this crap. I really have no idea how they stay in business - it can't be off repeat customers though. read more

Went here for yakisoba as it my favorite dish. The customer service here is not the best they don't really say much or ever try but that was fine as j was hoping the food would be good . The food was okay the I got chicken and spicy but the hardly put chicken and didn't really taste the spice. Probably will go again just cause it close to home. read more

Good teriyaki but holy crap they are slow. Even if you call ahead it seems like they don't start the order until you arrive. Annoying.

This must be the worst teriyaki place ever. If you live in the area and need a place to eat do not go here. I got sick off the food. So i went back to talk to the owner and he said that's your problem. I asked him how old the chicken was that he used and he said it was over a week old. I dont know why he told me this but he has issues. Best teriyaki joint in town! Food does take longer then usual to cook. But for the price you can't beat it to go box stacked with chicken.

I went there earlier tonight and ordered two chicken breast teriyaki bowls to go, one original flavor and the other spicy. When I got home and looked at each of them, they did not look appetizing. Both meats tasted really bland, like they were cooked with no spices. The spicy one tasted like the spices where added after the meat was done cooking rather then during so that the flavor could be infused in it. My fiance could not finish eating his spicy one because it tasted nasty. I tried mine and couldn't finish it either, it was so bland and had no teriyaki flavor on it that I could taste or see. The meat tasted like a really low grade of chicken and/or really old chicken. I am very disappointed and will not be returning back. Also parking was terrible. read more

Hey, for teriyaki this is pretty good. It's more expensive than what I got used to in college (circa 2000), but comparable to current (2012) prices. That means $7-8 or so. For a small family owned business this place is good. Decor isn't fancy, but they have what they need and it serves it purpose. Dishes I've tried and enjoyed is their short rib lunch special, hot spicy pork and their beef, chicken and pork teriyaki. My son loves their fried dumplings it's all he ever wants from this place. I'm not one to explore everything on the menu. However, I can always rely on the taste to be consistent and delicious. Their house salad dressing one of my favorite sauces. I love their teriyaki sauce so much that when I make spam musubi I use it for flavoring. Very polite staff and also stayed opened for my family and I while we finished up our dinner pass closing time. read more
