Classic Seattle hole-in-the-wall teriyaki place. Not too sweet and grilled with a little char which I love. Good value

Good teriyaki but holy crap they are slow. Even if you call ahead it seems like they don't start the order until you arrive. Annoying.

Best teriyaki joint in town! Food does take longer then usual to cook. But for the price you can't beat it to go box stacked with chicken.

Really good quality for meat for an ayce. Love the marbling of the wagyu…read more Service is great! We did come at an off time so there's that but I see that it can get busy at times. Servers were always checking up on us and refilling our drinks. Restaurant is inside the Asian Grocery market but the restaurant itself looks very modern. I gave it a 4 stars because I wish the appetizers and hot/ cold food bar is better. The selections are nice but tastes mid. If they can make it taste better then would rate it 5 stars.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Niku this time…read more The restaurant wasn't overwhelmingly busy, but two servers were very disrespectful to our table - and on top of that, we were even overcharged by about $60. One of them walked over and very casually threw out a "last call," without explaining how many minutes were left or checking whether we wanted to order anything else. Everyone at our table was caught off guard. It felt like we were being rushed to finish and pushed out, which made things really awkward and gave us a sense of being treated differently from other guests. If the goal was to manage the floor or control timing, the very least they could've done was explain it clearly: something like "You have X minutes left for last orders" or "We close at X time," instead of dropping one vague line and walking away, leaving guests to guess what's going on. When guests feel respected and in a good mood, we naturally order more and tip better. But when the attitude is poor and we feel rushed, it doesn't matter that the extra money isn't going directly into those servers' pockets - it just makes people not want to come back at all.

My favorite pho in Seattle, and really, anywhere!…read more This place is amazing! They treat their guests like regulars, and they treat their regulars like family. I have not had a bad meal here, and neither has my friends. This is honestly my favorite place for pho, and in my humble opinion, the best pho I've ever had. It tastes like your Vietnamese aunties are cooking in the kitchen, because they are! I crave this place, and usually eat here once a week if I can. My regular order is a large pho tai chin nam bo vien, (no white onions), which is rare steak, brisket, flank, and beef meatballs. Their pho broth is clear, yet rich and beefy and filled with authentic spices - you can really taste the bones being lovingly simmered for hours. Their Bun Bo Hue is also very good, with outstanding homemade pork meatballs. I tried my friend's Bun Rieu and it was seafoody and delicious as well. Also, don't miss out on their Goi Cuon (spring rolls). It's not on the menu but they do offer a shrimp & pork spring roll. They are absolutely delicious and very fresh. As I said, not a bad meal to be had here! Pro tip: For extra rich, beefy tasting pho, order some nuoc beo, (pronounced "nook bay-o") to add to your broth. You can thank me later. I cannot recommend this place enough!

The seating was open for selection by the customer after checking in with the hostess. We were immediately provided glasses of water and menus by our waiter. The food and tea were cooked and prepared in a faster than expected time, since the restaurant had been more half full at the time. Broth and flavors were spot on and delicious.
