Walked in early afternoon on a cool late summer Saturday and didn't have to wait. My friendly, efficent nail tech gave me the longest foot massage with my pedicure. She noticed one of my heels was a little cut up and asked me a couple time to let her know if she was hurting me at all during the pedi. Excellent experience! This place is not fancy. So set your expectations accordingly. With that said, the prices are reasonable for the area and the service is great. I get pedicures so the people working there will rub my feet. For a $25, the woman spent an hour on my feet, most of it on the moisturizing and massaging while I sat back in the massage chair reading my book. I was in and out with little hassle and a decent mani--though not the best I've ever had, I also didn't pay much for it either. I'm surprised by the positive reviews here. After visiting the salon for a mani-pedi when the weather turned nice, I definitely will not go back. First there was no Barbicide or cleaner for any of the tools except for one jar in the back. I should have walked out. When I asked for the tools to be cleaned, the nail tech took them to the sink briefly. I can't believe I stayed. I was really desperate for some R&R. Also was underwhelmed by their selection of polish. If you decide to go, take your own bottle. And take your own tools. That's the only way the place would be a bargain. read more

i can walk to this place from my home but i'd rather go to porter square. This rating is for the eyebrow waxing service. I've gotten by eyebrows done there numerous times. Each time is was alright. the reason i'm rating it so poorly is because over the past year the woman who does eyebrows either doesn't like me (i'm polite and quiet so that can't be it) or is in a foul mood when disturbed from eating her food, watching a show or just doesn't feel like getting up. i know what its like to have your eyebrows waxed by someone with an attitude. Not fun at all. Also they generally don't like walk ins so get their early. i got a pedi there and it was fine. but the service from the woman who does eyebrows is so bad that i had to rate it this low. read more

Easily the worst manicure I've gotten in my life. You could tell the nail tech just wanted you out of there ASAP. Nothing was done with care or consideration. My nails are all different lengths and shapes, and the polish application is splotchy, uneven, and all over my fingers. There are air bubbles and they didn't even let me sit there long enough for the polish to completely cure. My nails look like they were done by a 7 year old. Wasted $25 as I'm gonna have to get my nails fixed and redone somewhere else. Save your money and take your business elsewhere. read more

ASK for LIN, he gives a 20 minutes massage when you get a pedicure, I have to think it was the best I've ever had in 10 years. Although they are not a spa, the price is great and the location is very easy for me as I work in Central Square. The place is clean and they have a good nail polish collection. I absolutely love the massage chairs (the best I've ever sat in) and Vicky did such an amazing job on my foot and leg massage - it was not wimpy and fragile like most pedicure massages. She took about 10 minutes and really provided a deep massage. As a ballroom dancer and office worker, between all the blood pooling and my feet and the soreness, it is exactly what I needed. I loved the quiet atmosphere and the fact that I booked and appointment and for once did not have to wait! They took me right away. I will be coming here from now on and always asking for Vicky! I don't care about what the salon looks like - I care about the quality of the service! My nails looked amazing and she was gentle with the cuticle and ingrown removal part which is essential! My wife had come here for a manicure and pedicure, and one week later she developed a fungus causing all of her fingernails and toenails fell off. Very painful process and the salon brushed it off claiming it must've happened from somewhere else. My recommendation is to avoid this place as their unsanitary practices are not worth the risk. read more

First they made faces that they have to do extra work but then they fixed it. but they asked for charges for fixing. I was like i have already paid so much for the extension. The foot scrub was especially well done. I'm not sure how the other manicurists are, but I will definitely be back to see Vicky. I usually go there all the time and have no issue and I usually am satisfied for the price ... but recently, I had a person that I have never seen before and he was AWFUL! VERY RUDE! He barely did any of the work... he didn't clean my nails, shape them properly, or EVEN PUT THE CORRECT NAIL POLISH ON and had such a nasty attitude. I am so disappointed with the way my nails look. I came here out if desperation instead of waiting to go to my fave place. Never again!! If I were to describe this place in one word, I would either say shotty or careless. They did the minimum in order to accomplish the task of a manicure. They were rushed and rushed me out in the end. When it came time for the lotion and massage, the lady used barely any lotion and used the remnant from one hand on the other. This place is trash. It took them 3 hours to do a powder dip nail. The person on the phone on the phone was rude. The nail tech literally had to take off my previous gel dip instead of doing a fill. And GLUED MY FINGERS TOGETHER while applying it. When I left my card declined because of their machine. And they threatened to call the cops on me and locked the door. After all was said and done I paid $50. For a shitty nail job. With no apology about their machine messing up. They blamed he was hole thing on me. I absolutely don't recommend this place to anyone. I got a mani/pedi at my first visit to Sunny Nails. There were literally no other customers when I went in on a Tuesday afternoon. I was looking forward to a relaxing pedicure experience, and it was- until 5 minutes into the pedicure, another worker came up to the chair and started the process of a manicure. I was asked (in minimal English) to balance the bowl of soapy water on my lap as the manicurist started working away on my nails (while the pedicurist was working on my toes...) Not the most comfortable situation. However, the pedicure was GREAT! Without the manicure distraction, it would have been 5 stars. The massage was amazing and very long compared to others I have experienced. The polish on my toes lasted a good 3 weeks. However, I got a french-tip manicure on my fingers and that polish literally started to chip the next day. It was half off 3 days later and I had to redo my nails. Overall, the staff was nice, the prices were fair, and I have decided to go back for pedicures and not manicures. read more

Very tiny place! They were okay. Kind of a last minute decision after another salon was booked for the day. They saw me and two friends relatively quickly for pedis. We all got done about the same time which was nice to not have to wait forever. The only gripe I do have is that the water for my pedi was cold. I mentioned it to the nail tech and it didn't seem like he cared because it remained cold for the duration. I would go again in a pinch. read more

Overall, I was very satisfied by my experience here. The appearance of the place is very lacking, however the service I received and the quality of the mani/pedi is actually outstanding. My expectations were far exceeded. I came here 2 weeks ago with hopes of just getting a quick, cheap mani/pedi since I live right down the road. It actually took about 1 1/2 hours for both (way longer than I expected, but I wasn't in a hurry), only cost 35 for both (10 for mani, 25 for pedi) and my mani lasted a week and a half! Not a single chip after about 10 days...I was amazed. That is the longest a normal (i.e. non-shellac) manicure has ever lasted for me. It's been almost 2 weeks now and my pedi is still in great shape. I guess the reason I give Sunny Nails 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the un-spa-like feel to it, and the fact that it stinks of acryllic nail chemicals. Oh, and the lights have a very slight flicker to them, which gave me a headache after being in there for so long. But if you're looking for a good bang for your buck, this is the place to go. read more

Yikes! I will never go back to Sunny Nails again! I have tried to "forgive and forget" many times with this salon and am left broken-hearted every time. They have cut me each and every time I've been there (5 or 6 times over the past 3 years). Whether it's while doing my cuticles or by filing the hell out of my feet and tearing my callous open - I always leave with wounds. I like this place. It's a no frills kinda place and that's what I'm looking for. I've been coming here regularly for the last 6 months and I've seen 2 technicians. The prices are fair for the area and the shop is clean. My gel manicures last about 2 weeks but when it starts going down hill it looks awful!!! I enjoy the basic nail care, the guy I see is a magician with my cuticles and is great with pedicures (10 minute massage for each leg!) I don't think this place is enough for 4 stars but if I could I would do 3.5 stars. It's really basic and you get what you pay for. read more

Sony shop was definitely amazing from the beginning we were treated with respect and dignity not only did she fix a problem that another nail shop did bad but she did not charge me in the process of it and to top it all off they did a beautiful amazing job and their pricing was too good to be true because it is. Not a bad experience, but also nothing to be noted for. The place is in a bad place, without the parking. You have to park from far and walk to it. I have given this salon 3 chances to get it right...and I have been unhappy every time. I won't be going again. It was so close to my house I really wanted it to be good, but every time I have had the same issues. I have had 3 pedicures done...each by a different person...and each was poorly executed, caused me pain by over trimming cuticles and cut my nails too short and crooked. There is no attention to detail. Several days later my toe varnish has started to chip. The salon is sooo dated and horrible inside. If I were rating only on my nails I would give 4 stars. In terms of overall experience the salon is small, antiquated, and not very clean. More importantly, when I went in they had a cigarette burning (like incense) and the whole salon reeked of cigarette smoke. For these reasons I won't be going back. read more
