My friend recommended me this place because there was a Groupon so we both checked it out. A girl named Erica did my lashes. This was my first time ever getting eyelash extensions so I didn't know what to expect. She showed me the different types of lashes. I picked silk. She asked if I wore glasses and I did. So she recommended 10. Because this was my first time, I just followed her best judgement. The process took about an hour. When it was done, she asked me if I felt any burning sensation or if anything bothered me. Everything was great. I looked in the mirror and I was pleased. I'm a broke college student so I can't constantly come back every two or three weeks for a refill but if you take care of the lashes, they'll last for a pretty long time. Before I go on and say why I rated this place two stars I do want to point out some positives. First and foremost the location was very convenient and the price was as well. I got a couple of "mink" lashes for the price of $50 through Groupon. The ladies were very attentive and kept asking me how I felt. Now, As I was laying down getting my lashes done I can smell the heavy glue that was applied to my lashes. Literally smells like crazy glue. My lashes looked pretty decent afterwards but they felt so rough and crunchy. It was a bit uncomfortable closing my eyes. Mind you, this wasn't my first time getting my lashes done, I had got them done at another place twice before. Ive had my lashes on for about a week and they feel so patchy and rough, edges poke my eye at times. I'm afraid that will be my first and last time going to this location, if I continue to go I fear that I will not have any real lashes of my own left. Get ready to stay still like a mummy for about an hour. Just in case u feel like moving for some reason, expect the person who is doing ur eyelashes get very very very annoyed (u can feel the bad energies going towards u lol)... Overall my only complain is customer service, they are rude... They super strict with appointment so dont be more than 15 minutes late or they will reschedule no matter where u coming from.. What I like about this place is that they have brown eyelashes, Im on the lighter side so black eyelashes look too fake.. so brown iz perfect, look super natural... My natural eyelashes size is 10 and 11 so I ask for 11 and 12.... last time I did 13 and I felt I had an umbrella on each eye. My name is Michelle and I am an eyelash extension-holic. *phew* now that we've gotten that out of the way, here's my review. I've been getting eyelash extensions for about two years now. I used to get them in the city and went back every two weeks for refills. I absolutely loved them but the two hour commute to and from just for an eyelash appointment was kind of bothersome not to mention the steep prices they charged. Fast forward to a few months ago. One day while getting my car from the parking garage (located at the same address) I noticed a new sign for eyelash extensions. Could it be? An eyelash extension place in Flushing? I copied down the phone number and made an appointment. I've been going to Sunny for my eyelash extensions for a couple of months now. It's not as nice of a place as where I used to go for my eyelash extensions but then again you're laying on a bed with your eyes closed the entire time you're there. Sunny did a really good job and was patient in applying each lash individually. So why the 3 stars? Sunny now has an assistant and she splits up her clients now. She would apply half of the lashes and her assistant would apply the other half. The first time I went, my lashes were applied too closely to my eyelid and it hurt my eye everytime I gently touched my eyelashes. It got so painful that I had to remove them. I went back for a refill one week later and Sunny's assistant did my eyelash extensions again. The extensions have been falling out like crazy the past few days. It's been two days and half of the eyelashes from my right eye are missing to the point where it is very noticeable. I enjoyed going to Sunny Eyelash extension more so over places that do lash extensions in the city because: 1. This place is clean and Sunny (the owner and technician) doesnt have a bunch of untrained technicians doing lashes, just her and her assistant. 2. Moderately priced.. other places in Manhattan can range from $120 and up for the same quality of work. 3. Its small but cozy so you have privacy to do your lashes (very low key spot) and its not women laying all around piled on top of each other like some sort of eyelash farm. Plus this make for less rushing and more attentiveness. 4. The parking lot directly downstairs has fair prices as do the others around the area. 5. Sunny is very friendly, which always makes for good service. 6. If you live in Queens, you arent going to get better than this. My experience here was pleasant... my first appointment, I had a hard time finding this place, I had to get out of my car and read the addresses one-by-one and I called to be clear I was in the right spot. This also made me about 20 mins late but Sunny didn't seem bothered by that at all. I also had to figure out how this place was set-up because the building is shared by other businesses inside and you will be doing a lot turning down halls and door opening before you arrive. This place is also by appointment only, so make sure you arent trying to get last minute lashes. She might be booked. Overall my lashes were really nice and dramatic but not too crazy where I didn't recognize myself. After 3 weeks and my eyes being irritated (from severe allergies) it was very noticeable that I needed a touch-up. Other than that, my first and second week, I may have saw about 5 to 7 lashes lost over time. I was able to wash my face and rinse in the shower without a significant loss to my lashes. They didn't hurt or bruise my eyelids from glue being all over the place. I would recommend but here and there, after all.... Sunny may be Queens best kept secret! Also bring cash! No credit here! And some headphones perhaps because its very quiet in here and you may find yourself falling asleep during the process!! I had done eye lashes extensions in many places. So I gave this place a try since it's closer to me. I had never had any problems when I had my lashes done in other salons before. So I was going to a 5 days trip and I wanted to look prettier. I went to sunny lashes on 7/20. It took them about an hour for the whole application, which is average. The first night I had pain on my lids every time I blink. So I was like ok, maybe I will feel better the next day morning. But it didn't happened. It's still hurting me when I blink. On 7/22, I called them and informed them. They offered me to go back and fix it with no charge. So they removed the ones that's was glued too close to my skin, and re-apply new ones. After they fixed it for me, it doesn't bother me anymore. So I went on my 5days trip on 24th feeling good and pretty. Unfortunately the lashes extensions fell off much earlier than I expected! On the 26th, I have no more extensions left!! NONE! NOOOOONNNNNEEEEEE!! It only lashes for 6 days!! Which is unacceptable for me. Let me start off by saying that I am addicted to the convenience that comes along with eyelash extensions. As an Asian woman, I naturally have straight eyelashes. I can't complain about the length or volume, but they are certainly not as long/thick as I'd like them to be. Eyelash extensions save me upwards of 20 minutes in the morning by eliminating the tedious task of having to curl and coat my lashes to my desired length and volume. I've been to countless eyelash extension salons throughout Manhattan, and I have to say that Sunny Eyelash is among my top 5. I purchased a Groupon and had no issues making an appointment for the following weekend. The salon is a 5 minute walk from the 7-Main St subway stop. If you're driving, there is a garage connected to the building (that you have to pay for). Inside, the salon is neat and tidy and all technicians are extremely friendly. I explained to my technician the look I wanted (cat eye) and she gave me exactly what I asked for. Other salons I've been to have technicians who lean heavily on your nose or forehead causing a bit of discomfort after an hour or so - this wasn't the case at Sunny. I was comfortable the whole time and the full set was finished in an hour. It's been about 2 weeks and 80% of my lashes are still intact. I'm surprised that people are rating anything but 5 stars - as someone who's pretty much had lashes nonstop since 2014, my real lashes are intact and in good condition. I had a woman named Ashley, and she was great! When you go in you have to knock (there's a sign) and when you go in it is very zen. The two ladies I saw getting their work done had changed into their attire but I wasn't given the option..strange but I don't mind. Pros: -it took me 40 minutes -she was able to give me two different lengths to achieve a more natural look which I really really appreciated Cons: -I don't recall seeing her changing equipment but I'm going by my hearing as I was already lying down -they count how many lashes they put on each eye where as doing one for each lash which I am very disappointed by -she rested the material as well as her hand on my forehead. Not a fan since her hands weren't washed either I have a lot of cons, but I gave them 4 stars because I loved the aftermath. I came here with a Groupon last month, the lady who did my eyelashes were very kind, service was great, but it took forever. I've been doing my eyelashes for quite a while now and never has it taken more than 1 hour...I don't have much eyelashes as to why it usually takes 50 minutes, however this time it took 1 hour and 30 minutes... Not only that but I had to hear someone's child running around the whole store crying and laughing and touching my bed out of no where....for at least 40 minutes.. it was so irritating and really hard to maintain being calm while getting your eyelashes done.. this is suppose to be a peaceful setting, not somewhere you bring your child to play. I understand that this was just a kid but if there are other customers in the store, either the parent should control their kid or the store owner would request them to take care of their child. I didn't want to blame the woman who did my eyelashes because she was very kind and kept on apologizing to me, so I tipped her $18..remind you that the Groupon was only $45 and even for the full price of eyelashes it was a very good tip amount. Here are my thoughts after 3 appointments.... 1. Price. Mink prices, $100 for first appointment, $50 fill after 2 weeks, $80 fill after 3 weeks. I went 16 days from my first appointment and they still charged me $80. 2. Professionalism/Service. The girls all talk and gossip while working and at all 3 appointments, my technician got glue on my lid at least once and made my eyes water like crazy. Also felt a lot of tugging and pulling which is not good. 3. Comfort. There is absolutely zero privacy. It's one big room and its kind of weird when you hear other people come and go. They should at least have dividers or something between the tables. After only 1 experience at another salon I've realized this place is very mediocre. My mother in law has come here before too and she also didn't like her experience. I have my own go-to eyelash salon in Whitestone but my lady was on vacation and I was going on vacation myself so I needed a new place to go in the meantime. Ended up here, really did not want to pay $80 for a full set but I was desperate and had called about 8 other places which were all booked up. Everyone keeps talking about Sunny but pretty sure she was not the one doing my lashes. My girl asked me what length I wanted and I told her. She told me that was too long for me and they were going to look very fake. She suggested a shorter length which told me would look better. It took about an hour which is average for a full set, but I was very disappointed when I got up from the table. First of all she didn't even give me a mirror so I had to get up and walk to the bathroom to look. They were not very noticeable at all. Too short, almost the length of my natural lashes. I'm actually not a very picky person at all but if she would've just done the length I asked her for in the first place I'd probably be happy. OK I didn't want to write a review for this place so I can keep it a secret. Unfortunately I'm feeling a little generous and so I will share with you all about my secret place. Sunny's is a no frills eyelash extension place operated by a Korean Chinese lady and her (also Korean-Chinese) assistant. Not the most amazing space (in a weird office building), but it gets the job done. Fairly sanitary. $80 for lashes, $40 for touchups within 2 weeks, $60 for within three weeks. My eyelashes looked great for three weeks (a little sparse, but still better than normal). Which is pretty great, because I've gotten eyelash extensions in the past that have looked terrible by week two and they cost even more than this...I'm guessing you could even stretch them to four weeks, but does it really matter? With the pricing, if you're getting them consistently, it's still going to cost you the same. They will answer the phone in Korean, but they take reservations in Korean, Chinese, or English, so don't be freaked out when you call. It takes a little over an hour to get a full set in. I've had Sunny's assistant both times and I have been pleased with my lashes. I did have Sunny do part of one eye and I honestly cannot tell the difference. Maybe one day I'll luck out and get Sunny to do my lashes. Definitely worth the 1.5 hour trek out to Flushing for me. read more

I came here with a groupon. As soon as I walked in m, I was greeted by the staff. I told them I have a groupon and they helped me through the process of choosing the type of lashes I wanted. They have a board that shows the length of the eyelash and the type which was very useful in choosing the right lashes for me. The staff here is all very sweet. I'm not sure who my technician was but she made sure to ask me if everything is going well during the process- whether I felt any burning etc. she also gave me information on what remover I should use and when I can apply my makeup. Went to get my lashes done today and I have nothing bad to say about the place. They showed me different lengths and style of lashes before we started. Since it isnt my first time with extensions, they asked me what i got before, recommended a style for my lashes and created the type of look I was going for. Even with a groupon, they did a great job. I walked in almost half an hour early for my appointment and interrupted their meal but they were still very nice and cut their meal short to keep me from waiting. They even texted me 24hrs prior to my appointment as a reminder and confirmation which was a nice touch. They were very accomodating, she noticed that I was cold half way into the session and offered a blanket which I happily accepted and it was soo soft. The place was spacious, clean and inviting. I would not recommend going here. For starters I asked for a feathered look meaning a mix of legnths but looks like I only got one legnth which is not what I asked for. Secondly the lashes were so uncomfortable and I realized it was because the lashes were glued to my actually lash line which isn't supposed to happen. It felt like something kept stabbing my eyelids which made it so impossible for me to sleep comfortably. And lastly the lashes fell off with so many of my real lashes. 2.75 stars. Came here with my mom a few months ago and we both had Sunny do our lashes. I thought my mom's lashes were done nicely and she said it didn't bother her (not heavy, didn't burn or poke her eyes) and for once she actually left them on and let them fall off her their on instead of pulling them all off after a few days. But now to my lashes... I didn't think they were too special. I've had my lashes done a few times before so I knew they weren't great. A lot of my own lashes weren't extended, so they definitely could've been fuller but she told me that they were all done and I was fine with that since I didn't need them super full. The worst part of the extensions for me was that every single extended lash that fell off took my own lash from the root with it. Being that I've had lashes done before I know my own would fall off too but I definitely didn't expect that every single extended lash fallen would pull my own out so I'm still pretty lash naked even 2 months after initially getting them done. Update: I received a call from Erica, who was the lady I had worked with my first visit, and she expressed her dismay at my review. She talked me into coming in one more time, to fix and help her understand whatever issues I felt existed. We set an appointment up, and she was incredibly accommodating. The moment I came in, we began to speak about why I felt the way I did, and my experience. She was incredibly apologetic about coming off as impatient, rude and uninterested in me and my questions. I personally appreciated the fact that she took an open minded approach to our conversation and took the time to address each and every comment, and concern I made. She exuded every bit of the professionalism I was expecting in the first place - along with a humility that has softened me up considerably. If you would have asked me to review Sunny Eyelash four or five months ago, I would have given them five stars, but they have changed. This seems to be the typical progression from the "hidden jewel" to the go-to place. It seems that as they've become more well known, the product has gone down hill. They also keep no record of what they did on your last visit, so each time, you have to educate a new employee. Sunny Eyelash is not the first eyelash place I've gone to, as I've been doing this for three years on and off. My first few experiences were fabulous. My lashes were beautiful and lasted a long time. The last three times, not only did the job result in the lashes on the two eyes being uneven, but lashes began falling off within a week, and they were not from my own lashes shedding. They were just a glue failure and I do not use any oily products, nor do I rub my eyes. This last time, several lashes were glued to my eyelid rather than a lash. The topper was that the girl obviously had glued some part of my eyelid to the point that it took her a full ten minutes dabbing my eyelid with whatever they use to loosen glue. Maybe it was the constant interruption of her phone ringing. Sunny, you need to make sure your employees are properly trained and your products need to return to the high level they were before. I have been getting EEs for over three years now. I started out in NYC Ebenezer, which did do good EEs most of the time, the staff was horrible and fake. I switched to a new place, Blinglash and fell in love. I was loyal to them as they grew and grew. Only recently and only because of the long commute, I decided to look for a new EE salon. I miss them! But I found a few places in Queens and Sunny's Eyelash Extension is second place I visited. The place is in a very busy area of Flushing, convenient by train/bus. If you're used to NYC EEs, this is not it. Its just a plain, small room and only Sunny. No frills - just bare basics. I am very satisfied with her job. The look I requested is the look I got - natural but full, not too long. Sunny herself is very pleasant, not too talkative. I am still debating if she'll gain my loyalty? Few things come to mind: - I wonder if she'll be able to accomodate any other EEs styles. - Not sure about her tools / sterilization, etc. I was in a rush so I forgot to look. - Since she's a one woman show, not sure she'll be able to handle growth and provide flexible appointments. Her prices are close to NYC prices, so I think they are rather high for the bare bone basic establishment. Will try to update on how the EEs last. read more

I've been to this place a couple times, you can only use the Groupon once for $55. But it's worth it to come back. They are the only place that really can get my lashes perfectly how I want them. If your natural lashes aren't full then chances are your set will not look full because they place them on your natural lash. So I don't understand why people complain that "they put no lashes" on. And if you do have a lot of lashes and it's not enough to your liking then tell them to put more on. It's really not that hard. I mean if you're paying for the service might as well have it look fleeky and pay a little extra if they ask because they're using more product. I would 10/10 recommend them!! I was a little skeptical about this place after reading so many bad reviews, but it was worth giving it a try. I got a Groupon deal with them for $45 for a full silk lash extensions (valued at $80) . When I called to make the appt they were quick and easy to book one. The day before the appt , someone texted me to confirm my appt. The day of my appt , knowing how flushing is i just chose to park in the parking garage underneath the same building. I payed $5 , much more convenient then looking for parking. As I walked in their office first thing I noticed was how super clean it was , not how many people here said it was dirty. The waiting area and the bathroom was clean. The environment was so relaxing and peaceful. Although when I did go , it was Monday morning at 11 so I guess it was great timing.
