Great experience with Sunlogix installing solar with batteries on my home in the desert. Mark Licon, my account rep was outstanding. He has great knowledge and experience, which was invaluable as we designed our system. He listens and asks good questions, so he understood our priorities and goals. We came up with a cost effective plan that meets our needs really well. It's installed now, and we are very happy. Mark was with us through the whole process including finalizing our design (he recommended a panel upgrade that didnt cost much and seems to be well worth it), permit application and HOA approval and install (and after). Our home is in an older neighborhood designed by a well-known desert architect, so the visual effect of the system was important to us and to our HOA. Mark and his guys came out twice to do mock panel demos to make sure everyone (including the HOA) was satisfied and to get us through HOA approval, which went without a hitch. Install went well and Mark was key contact through that whole process as well. I had questions, and he made sure they were addressed immediately. Mikayla is another powerful asset at Sunlogix. She's invariably the one who picks up the phone when you call the office, and she seems to know everything. If you manage to call when she doesnt know the answer to your question, she knows how to get you through to the right person, right then. Any time Ive had a concern, she's been helpful and able to get me an answer right away. She is always pleasant, every single time. They've both provided great follow-up since the system went it. Mark came out and walked us through the system, making sure we understood all the parts and what to do when things come up. He walked us through the app and all its uses. Several years ago I installed a different system at a different house in the desert, with another company who installed it and then disappeared. No follow-up, no training, no service. This is why Im sensitive to service during the permitting, install and after. Sunlogix, has been the opposite of our previous bad experience. They have been great. The whole company, especially as represented by Mark and Mikayla, seems to be in this for the long haul. BTW I also met Glenn, the CEO of the company, when I dropped by to check out their offices. He was personally interested in our project, eager to make sure things were going well. There's real security in this kind of interest in customer satisfaction and loyalty, especially since this is an important upgrade for our home that we hope will help us love living in the desert for many more years, read more

I would like to leave a shout-out compliment for employee, Katie Fleig at Sunlogix. I was seeking solar information from different companies, and Katie went over and above to answer my questions. She even provided a follow up contact from Michaela Terrell. Such outstanding Customer Service reflects admirably for Sunlogix. I would highly recommend any company that treats their customers with such personal service. read more

3-22-23 Miguel is a very helpful and articulate person. I needed information regarding the various thermostats available. He was very interested in helping me and continued to follow up with exceptional expert information that I may make a choice about what to buy. We had this company replace our air conditioner and heating system a few years ago and they continue to provide superb service when ever we call for assistance. We highly recommend Miguel and Desert Tech! Thank you for your excellent service, Howard and Jeanne Rodgers Palm Desert read more

Had a bit of an issue with scheduling, they needed to reschedule an appointment but they had great communication about it. That's the only reason it's 4-stars. Otherwise they did a great job coming out and retrofitting a minisplit so it could use a smart thermostat. I plan on using them again if I have needs. read more

Miguel and Katie were amazing, it felt like dealing with family. We interviewed 5 different companies and Desert Tech provided a competitive proposal and educated us on all aspects to make a decision. They cared about us, took pride in their work and tailored a solution that was specific to our needs. Unlike other companies (who came to our house just once), Desert Tech came to our house multiple times, ran analytics and created a personal bond providing us the comfort to know that we were making the best decision. It is rare these days to meet people who are so passionate about what they do. They have also continued to follow-up with us and we know we'll continue working with them for years to come. They're simply the best. Thank you Miguel and Katie! Lauren & Carlo, Indian Wells, CA. read more

Everyone in the desert should go with Desert Tech!!! I was so impressed with Desert Tech! From start to finish was amazing! Miguel and his team are extremely knowledgable, professional and excellent follow thru. I had met several other HVAC companies and most wanted me to replace my commercial air handler/heater. Several companies were quoting me a lot more than Desert Tech did. I ultimately saved a lot of money!!!! Here are some of my problems with my unit: 1. Not enough cool air was flowing into my bedroom. 2. The thermostat was located facing the window towards the window. 3. No heat. 4. Filters did not fit properly in the unit. 5. Tons of dust everywhere! Miguel met with me and explained all the options and concluded that he did not think we needed to replace the unit, just repair it. Not only was Miguel able to resolve all the issues, but he also discovered a major fire hazard in the unit. The heating coils were next to the insulation!! Potentially causing a fire! Thank you Desert Tech. Lastly, being a woman I don't understand the mechanics of an HVAC system, but Miguel explained it in a way that was easier to understand. LADIES...give them a call. I am sure you will be treated well. Additionally, I have recommended Desert Tech to our HOA to do future work in our huge complex. That's how I feel about them! read more

Robert was awesome! Thank you Desert tech! They came in the windowed time. He fixed the thermostat and wiring without a problem. Our air unit is now ready for summer. Robert was professional and kind. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The price was great and the office staff was so kind and helpful with scheduling. read more

Desert Tech replaced my entire 45 year old HVAC system including the ducting. Miguel, the owner, is uber smart and very meticulous in design and installation. He was very helpful in explaining how to use my "Ecobee" smart control system. My experience with his team has been very positive. I've been very happy with my system and would highly recommend Desert Tech for your AC & Heating needs. read more

These guys suck. Miguel will promise you the world then he has his "office manager" shoot down whatever BS he was spinning to you. Very unprofessional. I will never call these losers. Miguel installed these units originally btw. He's a liar. Very dishonest. Don't trust him. You can see how he tried to spin the story below. What a loser So yesterday Miguel C, the owner of this business called me at 1:22pm from a company cell phone and cursed at me and threatened me. He attempted to strong arm me into deleting this post. He was completely unhinged. This guy has a few screws loose. You definitely don't want him in your home or business. That reply he posted to my comment was complete bs. Unreal..... read more

The absolute best company to advise, install and maintain the equipment (air conditioning and heating) that controls the temperature and humidity (yes, humidity), in the two places where you spend the majority of your life; at work and at home. I wanted to say what a great company Desert Tech is. I had two units in my house replaced two years ago and they have worked great. Last Saturday night my unit for the bedrooms quit cooling which was bad timing. I called Miguel and he gave me a few things to try and call him back. Well nothing worked, so I called him and he had one of his techs (Alfonso) come out on Sunday and he said the compressor was shot. They had a new one ordered and came out at 2:00 PM on Tuesday in 122 degree weather and had me up and running by 5:00 PM. No charge for parts or service. Great customer service. Miguel stands behind his products and I would highly recommend them if your looking for new AC. Thanks Miguel, I really appreciate all you did for me and my family. read more

We live in an older manufactured home in "The Valley". On the day we moved here it was 122 degrees. I knew we were going to need to have a reliable, resourceful, respectful HVAC company to help us out with our heating and air needs. Well, I AM SO GLAD DESERT TECH came to the rescue. They are ON IT! We needed repairs and everyone who comes from Desert Tech is SUPER POLITE and SUPER KNOWLEDGEABLE. They diagnosed our problems and fixed them at a very reasonable cost. Our heating and air functions so much better and I am so much more comfortable in my home! Thank you DESERT TECH !!!!!! read more

I've been using Desert Tech for at least two years now. Staff is knowledgeable, professional, good rates too. When I first hired them they pointed out a big gap on my AC unit that was allowing air to escape. Because of this the air wasn't cooling enough and the unit would keep running almost continuously. The serviceman went out of his way to fix it. After that I've had no problems. I service my unit twice a year, usually Miguel the owner calls you back to check and make sure everything was taken care of. I will continue to use them and highly recommend them. read more

Grateful and happy. Our AC started blowing warm air all of a sudden while we were out of town and our house sitter was going to roast in 110 degree weather! My solar guy from Sunlogix highly recommended this company. I called Katie a little after 8am and she said they were totally booked but she understood the emergency nature of the problem would try to figure out how to squeeze in our home. She called with an appt between 10-12. By noon it was all fixed! The tech called me to explain the issue, the part replaced and future recommendation for our old unit. The cost was reasonable, no extra cost for the extra help. Katie sent the bill via email next day and I was never so happy to pay a bill! Thank you Katie and Desert Tech man who fixed our AC! read more

I have been a super satisfied customer of Desert Tech and Miguel since the early 1980s. I have a set of circumstances different from many of Miguel's Palm Springs area customers. I live in the Los Angeles area, a far cry from Cathedral City. My most recent success story related to Desert Tech was the installation of an Ecobee3 thermostat on my HVAC (Dream System) Miguel and his crew installed in 2008. I was all prepared to install a Nest thermostat (purchased the Nest last December thru amazon.com). But, alas, I had never made the time to install it. The Nest sat, unopened, ready to be installed for almost 8 months. I called Miguel to see if he had a job going in the Los Angeles area and if I could "piggy back" on that job while he had a crew in the area, and have the crew install it for me. Miguel told me he had a major job going in the dessert and would be booked for at least three weeks. But the best part of the story is that Miguel told me about the Ecobee3 thermostat. He advised me to see if I could return the Nest. Fortunately, because the Nest box was NEVER opened, the amazon.com vendor gracefully allowed me to return it with no restocking fee (kudos to a great company). Miguel told me to order the Ecobee3 and two additional sensors. He then offered to walk me thru the installation and setup of the Ecobee3 via telephone! When the Ecobee3 arrived at my house, I called Miguel. As promised, he guided me through the entire process without a hitch. I was really glad I spoke with him because several of the settings he told me to input into the Ecobee3 were beyond my understanding of HVAC systems. Here is the most amazing part, Miguel refused to bill me for his services! He said that after so many years of being a customer of his, it was the least he could do. It is true, I am a good customer. I had Miguel install a 2-1/2 ton rooftop HVAC unit on my first house in the 80s. He put in the "dream system" in my current house in 2008, which included a "CleanEffects" electronic air filtration system (solved a major allergy problem suffered by both my wife and daughter). In 2011, Miguel solved a problem I had been plagued with for several years with a room that had lots of electronics and computer servers in it. He set me up with a Fujitsu split-air system just for that room (man cave). It was the PERFECT solution. Miguel and Dessert Tech have earned my full trust and complete loyalty! One last example of his dedication to great customer service is when my HVAC system would not run. Because I have some knowledge of electrical systems (I am not a HVAC guy), Miguel and I worked together on the phone and determined what component had failed. Miguel had the part drop shipped to me and I installed it with the help of his phone guidance. I was only down for one day because he had the part "Next Day" delivered to me. Amazing! A last note, you can see my Yelp and other reviews and you will see I usually rate either 5 star or 1 star. This is because I don't take the time to write reviews for mediocre companies or mediocre service--I'll leave that to others. If you want a fantastic system installed by an extremely competent company and owner, look no further than Miguel and Dessert Tech. They have consistently survived the test of time. They have earned my business and my respect. They are truly great! I wish I could rate them twenty stars! read more

The attitude received over requesting a bid for system replacement was the worst I have ever experienced. I own multiple properties in different cities and the fact I was getting more than one bid seemed offensive to the person in the email. I was floored by the attitude and will never do business with this company. Obviously someone was having a bad day and I received the brunt of that. That's ok. I'll buy from Timo's. read more

Full system installed a year ago, at my home. Did not want to post until I had time to enjoy the system for a while. Highly recommend Miguel and his VERY professional staff. We are in the middle of a home purchase. Our inspector found both a/c units inoperable. I called several companies and Desert tech could come out within the hour. I would highly recommend. Honest, prompt, great value, awesome customer service. read more

I'd give these guys ten stars if I could. We had an admittedly first-world problem when our wine room refrigeration unit stopped working in the middle of a desert heatwave. After one company came out and was not able to repair it, I received a referral to Miguel at Desert Tech. After speaking to him on the phone and explaining the situation I was instantly put at ease. This guy knows his stuff. A mechanical engineer with a detailed understanding of the technology, he knew just what needed to be done, sourced the components I needed from several vendors, and had the right solution in place in a matter of a day. The technician he sent, Robert, was very knowledgeable and detailed as well, and we were extremely satisfied with the results. The customer service, attention to detail, and professionalism of this whole team--including Katie in the office (actually at home in quarantine with a couple of toddlers)--was exceptional. I fired our old company and will use Desert Tech for all my refrigeration and A/C needs from now on. read more

Miguel is a man of his word and takes pride in his profession and his team of workers. His knowledge of the mechanics of A/C and heating far surpasses his competitors. He installed two A/C's and furnaces and told me that my bill should be reduced by approximately 45% and he is right on. Additionally, he personally fine tunes the vents so the air flow works perfectly. His pricing is the best in the Valley. I recommend Desert Tech 100% read more

Miguel and his team are extremely knowledgeable about both HVAC maintenance and HVAC design. When we were remodeling our kitchen, Miguel lent insightful suggestions about how best to tweak the duct work. I have used Desert tech in the past for servicing my refrigeration equipment and AC units. I always liked Miguel the owner and the guys seemed respectful and got the job done. However, all the things that recently occurred make me feel sort of used. First of all, within 24 hours of a routine service of the AC units I called Miguel to tell him of water pooling in the vent and leaking into the dining room. He said he'd call back and never did. I called another service who takes care of my residential properties who noted that the condensation line was visibly clogged with water backing up for quite some time---and Desert Tech didn't catch this? Then I happen to ask thios other company what the annual service was for the 2 AC units and one Swamp cooler and it was almost half the price! I never shopped service as I started with Desert Tech and never had the time to shop it. This other company was a great surprise and very competent. But what really did it in for me with Desert tech and the reason for the lowest review possible was the ineptitude at managing simple credit card processing. The reason is this: I routinely sign up for milieage rewards cards in the spring and save all my bigger purchases for the summer to use these credit cards and get the mileage credited toward my annual trip to my second home in france. This is worth $1700 (avg air ticket ) so it's important that things like Desert techs $1200 repairs be put on that card and credited toward my mileage award!( I only have 90 days to make the purchases per the program awards)He couldn't do it! Ran it multiple times. Gave him my other MC CARD couldn't do it! I ran them both through my restaurant to see what the problem was--no problem! I called both Chase and Citi Bank--they said they never received a request from Desert tech. But see the other merchant charges. I tried to help Miguel, the owner, I told him I'd be happy to talk to his processor as I have a lot of experience with credit card processing as we do a high volume.I wanted to put him on a conference call with Chase so we could resolve it in that manner. He would have nothing to do with this. He sent me a report stating that the process did not go through, but of course if his processor doesn't communicate with the bank he can't be paid. I wound up writing a check. I feel that if you do not have the fundamentals or the cerebral wherewithal to manage your payment processing particularly after being offered assistance by your own customer, you don't deserve my business or that of other businesses who operate to a minimum standard of conduct. I guess what really irks me, is that after sending the owner my check with the statements that showed charges going through on the very days he claimed to have tried to run my cards--not so much as an apology or credit for my lost miles and his processing errors. Mehhh, me thinks not. This is my 8th business and first in desert. I realize the bar is pretty low here, but there should indeed be a minimum standard. read more

Not easy finding good tech service for a higher end evaporative cooler. My electricity bill usually runs less than $100 per month because I use my cooler ALL summer long unless the dew point goes above 60 degrees. People don't believe me, but my cooler makes life so much easier...leaving windows and doors open eliminating stuffy air caused by A/C. I was searching for a good, reliable company, (that does not offer some stupid "club plan" which is a total rip-off) and quite by accident found Desert-tech.Their technician was so professional, knowledgeable, and efficient I will use them every time my cooler needs servicing (twice a year) Rates were very reasonable. These days with temps in the 117 range, my house is more comfortable than any A/C cooled house...and my electric bill is -$100.00. Cannot say enough good things about this co. and their technician. Don't use any co.that promotes a "club plan". Use DESERT TECH. read more

Buyer Beware! Invoiced 400% as a material markup and charged for two hours when their technician was there for 22 minutes! This place is amazing. My elderly mother lives in Cathedral City and I'm over in AZ. Twice during two different summers, her AC unit failed. I called around and of course, everyone is booked with call outs. Then I called Desert Tech. I explained that my mother's house was over 100 degrees, that she was on hospice and didn't have anywhere to go. All the techs were busy, just like all the other companies, so the owner of the company personally took the job and came out in the 115+ sun to get my mom back up and running. While there, he pushed to her drink a couple glasses of ice water and made sure she was ok before he left. This type of "above and beyond" treatment is hard to find nowadays. He shared his philosophy and explained a bad situation he experienced in the past with a company he used to work for where the customer was elderly, not given priority and unfortunately passed. He has built this company around this philosophy and I truly appreciate it. read more

We needed to replace the 27 yr old HVAC on our new condo purchase. We went through this about 3 yrs ago in our home in Seattle so had some background knowledge. We spoke with 4 contractors, all of whom we really liked, but chose Desert Tech for the following reasons. (1) We liked the high level of technological knowledge and experience of the owner, Miguel. He spent quite a bit of time explaining desert HVAC systems and calculating the actual size needed for our unit. Our old unit was 5 ton. We had recommendations from 3.5 to 5 tons from the other contractors, but Miguel really detailed why staying with the 5 tons would be an advantage, but was willing to install a smaller unit if that was our decision. (2) His crew was highly experienced and professional. They made the comment to us that their installations were very precise as that was required by the owner. (3) He bid was the lowest. 4) He gives a 2 yr labor warranty vs 1 from the other contractors. (5) Miguel listened to our concern of not wanting a complicated thermostat and re-installed a 2nd one. He also came out several days later, reviewed and explained the functions for best efficiency. We also appreciated that he spent extra time giving us tech tips on closing up our condo for the summer. (6) We felt that he is honest and had a high degree of integrity so if there were any problems in the future he would make them right. We would not hesitate to refer anyone to Desert Tech. read more

As luck would have it our A/C unit for the back half of the house died as the temps increased in June. I received three quotes on a new unit and Miguel not only came in with the best pricing he also provided the most detailed quote. His crew were very polite and cleaned up at the end of the day. It took two days on the install and everything went smoothly. We had family coming in near the end of June so the new unit was good timing except the unit for the main living area went out and also needed replaced. I got in touch with Miguel and he got the second unit ordered and installed in three days. The house is now very comfortable and with the new units and the solar we installed our July 2014 Edison bill of $710.00 dropped to $325.00 in July 2015. Miguel and his crew were such a pleasure doing business I have recommended him to others and will continue to do so. read more
