The service that I received at this store was actually a lot better than the services I received at other Sunglass Hut in the Bay Area. Anyways, I came here on a late Friday night last week and wanted to buy a pair of sunglasses. I wanted a new one instead of the one they had on display; but they did not have any, so the worker said he can place an order for me online. He was going to order it through the Sunglass Hut website, so I asked if I can just do it at home, the employee said that it might be better to order in the store because I would get ONE DAY SHIPPING vs ordering at home, then it would take a week! So I would do whatever everyone else would do, and just order it there. I rather have it sooner than later and it's a good thing I didn't need it until a couple of weeks later, since it was not ONE DAY SHIPPING! Sunday comes around.. No sunglasses... Monday comes around... No sunglasses... Well it finally came on a Thursday night, which was almost a week later! ....So much for one day shipping that employee promised me. Overall, I do not trust them when they tell me it's one day shipping and I would be super mad if I needed it a few days later, but since I did not, it wasn't too much of a big deal. I am very disappointed with Sunglass hut. I bought a pair of glasses on 07/11/2022 then return them the next day 07/12/2022 for a refund. I talked to the manager and they gave me customer service phone number, but when you call there is no option to talk to a customer service person. I files a claim through email, since I didn't receive my money back. I sent all their request. I sent them the receipt and then banking detail and still today 09/13/2022 I have not received my refund. I have been sending request to check the status and they has stopped answering my email. No one really goes in here with the intention of walking out with a new pair of shades...the hut is just a nice place to try them on, go back to the optometrist, and order shades through insurance. The actual store at Oakridge is manned by some dudes who pretty much just loiter around the store. Everything is locked up so it's no fun at all to peruse. However, there is a Sunglass Hut stand located by Foot Locker on the other side of the mall. The manager, Christina, works over there and is super nice. She was informative about shades and let us try on numerous pairs while I took notes down on style codes and sizes. She kinda knew we weren't there to buy anything, but helped anyhow. True customer service! Plus, the stand seemed to have a better selection of Ray Bans than the store did. Now I can't wait for my new shades!! read more

I just want to say I have always gotten nothing but 5 star service at Sunglass hut. Sure you can buy online and save a few $$, but they stand behind their products 100%. My whole family shops here. I recently received a pair of Persol sunglasses from my parents as a gift and they could not find the receipt. They were too small for my head. I called Christine at Oakridge Mall and she told me I can come in to exchange them. I went in there she was very nice & professional and exchanged them for a pair that actually fit my head with no problems at all! That is what makes me come back. I lose a lot of sunglasses, like a LOT, so I find myself shopping for shades more than the average person. Even with all the choices out there, I often end up at this location because of the service and selection. There's a nice variety of options for both sexes but not to an overwhelming point. Sometimes I find too much selection is a bad thing! The staff is willing to be either very involved in your selection or not at all, but you can guide them to the level of service you're looking for. The best thing is that if you're laser focused and want to get a pair and roll out, you can get in and out in 7 minutes flat and be out in the sun looking cool! read more

I wanted to add an update to my review. I had not realized the return time period was extended due to Covid-19. Don't get me wrong I loved the Maui Jim sunglasses I had bought from Mario's store in the mall.But the problem was they were heavy on my nose.I thought I would use them for hiking, but they just sat in the drawer. Mario the store manager took them back no questions asked. I actually had my eye on a different pair and ended up exchanging them. Even though the employees there wear masks you can see the smile behind them. Alberto helped as well and made sure the glasses were ready to go. Mario made some adjustments I needed. They work well together and everything was done with great care. I think Mario is a great manger with a big heart. He cares not just for the customer, but his employees as well. Reminding them to use hand sanitizer and did they clock in after their break like a big brother. The store is always clean and I love the wide selection. I would not think of going to any other company for Sunglasses. This location is convenient and the service is alway excellent. read more

I purchased online from SGH, and in the material sent to me with my purchase was a document explaining that one of my benefits is "EASY RETURNS", so for 90 days, I'm supposed to be able to come in and perform an online return. The employee who was there that afternoon was polite at the start, but when I told her I wanted to take advantage of the corporate-promised "EASY RETURN", she told me instead that she didn't think she had the proper password to do so. When I asked her to make whatever calls necessary for me to be able to take advantage of "EASY RETURNS", she dug in and told me that she just wasn't able to do so, but I could come by in a few hours and *try* with another employee of the store. So I basically heard a lot of 'I can'ts', instead of a staff who was there to help me out of my predicament. The thing is this: I would have made another purchase that very same day if the employee wasn't so rude and stubborn, so the local shop missed out on an easy sale, because they are not prepared to perform "EASY RETURNS". My suggestion for Valentine, the manager: Make sure your people are prepared to meet the promises of the corporate office to your customers, and make sure they know how to handle situations where they can't meet those demands more gracefully. I'll never shop at this location again. read more

Came in here willing to pay for sunglasses at stupid Sunglass hut prices - was ready to pick up a pair like asap. I poked around their Ray Ban area and found a pair that I was ok with shelling out $250 to take home today. I brought the pair to the front, and guess what - the display pair is the only one in the store. I asked what the discount was on display glasses - none. I thought I'd inspect the lenses, but I kept seeing scratches and didn't want to pay full price for sunglasses with scratched lenses, so I picked another style. Guess what - same deal - only one pair in the shop. I took pictures of the style/price tags for each pair - the $259 pair of Ray Bans can be purchased elsewhere online for $128. Honestly, I think Sunglass Hut as an organization is circling the drain, and this location isn't doing the brand any favors. read more

Well I'm sorry to say but this place sucks. I came in with hope that was soon smashed as I realized I had to wait for the sales girl to wait around and try to get a sale before she would attempt to help me. She obviously thought they were more important. She finally comes over about a minute later and starts typing on the computer. By this time a man in a suit came in and started looking. The sales girl tells me she can't read the last numbers of the serial number and will have to wait for the manager. I said ok and went to stand off to the side. Meanwhile she walks over to the gentleman and tries to talk him up. I waited 10+ minutes, another couple came in and wanted to exchange a pair because the nose piece was loose. The sales girl tries to send them to lens crafter because they do that as well? They left and said they would be back (they were also told they had to wait for a manager). After the gentleman left and a couple more people came and went and she realized that I wasn't going anywhere she said well let me try again. So I walk over and pick the sunglasses up and look at the number, it was perfectly printed and there was no mistaking it. Which just sealed the deal on this. She finished much faster than when she started. Plus there was no manager needed! All the "perks" Sunglasses Hut promotes on their website doesn't make up for the terribleness that is having to actually go into their store. read more

I'm actually quite surprised at the positive reviews of this particular store. But looking at when the reviews were written, this manager must be new. I went this weekend to exchange a pair of Maui Jim's I had purchased for hybrid everyday use with lightweight frames for running. After reviewing my receipt and taking all of the packing material that came with the in-store purchase, the manager, Valentina, asked me if there was a problem with the glasses. I showed her the spot on both sides of the bridge connection at the nose pads where the lenses were cracked and claimed I had not done anything to the glasses to warrant even cracking on both lenses in the exact same spot. I was informed that any manufacturer's defect needs to be brought to the attention of Maui Jim. When my husband mentioned the 50% replacement warranty, we were informed that Maui Jim's are excluded from that policy. I proceeded to turn the receipt over and read the return/exchange policy to her and followed up with the question "where in the policy does it state Maui Jim's are excluded?" She said "Oh, it doesn't but that's the way it is". I said that's an inadequate response and she acquiesced and said that I can only exchange for another pair of Maui Jim's. After speaking with friends about our experience, they said the same manager pushed back on them until they stood their ground on an exchange as well. It appears it is store policy to push back because they probably get about 50% of their customers who just bend to their will. If you have a legitimate return/exchange, do NOT take their word for it if the written policy is something different. read more

After 15 minutes of back and forth, I asked the employee if "that was the best that could be done and maybe the glasses were defective?"
