She has the largest selection I've ever seen, ranging from budget pairs to high-end pairs, and access to extra features with the lenses I didn't know existed. My lenses have a focus point for my prescription as well as a special focus point at the bottom for reading and texting. They are scratch-resistant (I've had them knocked off onto gravel pavement while rehearsing with my dance team) and they did not scratch! They have blue light filters built in, too. May is thorough and she takes time to get to know you and explain all the options. This can be a lot, so plan to have an hour or two when you go see her. The advantage is that she helps you pick out frames that compliment your face shape, and lets you scour her inventory so you can try on all the styles you like and choose your favorite. Since my first pair, I have bought a pair of sunglasses that have spoiled me rotten, and last year I bought a pair of glasses calibrated specifically for working on the computer. I came to May telling her I was experiencing headaches during long days working on the computer, thinking I needed more powerful blue light filters. She promptly identified the root-cause was eye strain from my prescription strength. Since my glasses had a focus point far away to assist my vision, she suggested I have a pair made with the focus point about 18 inches in front of me specifically for computer work. It's worked like a charm! Not a single headache and no eye strain since wearing the new pair on the computer. In total I have 3 pairs, all for a specific purpose, and they're all stylish frames that make me feel I have something unique. I highly recommend going to see May at Chart Optical and trying out her elevated white-glove service take on shopping for eye glasses.

It was easy to make an appointment online for myself and my husband. You'll get confirmation texts and emails from this office as you get closer to your appointments. The office is located in Midtown, and there's a FREE parking lot right in front that's just for patients. The vibes inside are spot on - colorful and bookish in all of the best ways. Dr. Koch and Heather the optician were both friendly and helpful throughout our appointments. I also love that they have an "office dog," Gracie. We both purchased new frames and lenses with our updated prescriptions, and there's a pretty good selection to choose from in-office. It takes about two weeks for your new glasses to be ready.
