I bought 3 pairs of sunglasses here I came back for another one the next day with a promised deal and the people working that day did not want to give it . I wasn't even mad that they didn't keep their word in their sales pitch but the way they responded . They were passive aggressive and need better costumer service training . What I would've like them to say was:sorry we are unable to offer you the deal that you were promised the day before , I will make sure to communicate with my staff to not offer these. Instead they seemed to want to escalate the situation and had an argumentative tone. Please train your staff to be better equipped in costumer service training and be more apologetic then pointing the finger at the costumer . This place is trash, I went to purchase a pair of sunglasses, and I had my two boys with me. I picked out a pair of dolce , and the lady said she was going to clean them or look for a new one. She told me she found new pair, She put the new pair of sunglasses in the case... I paid for quickly and left the store since my two boys were starting trouble. As I got home, I noticed the sunglasses were scratched (on the plastic frame) so the following day I took them back and asked for an exchange or return, which they would not do!!! (((Note that they have a 30 day return policy, and I paid for the protection plan.))) I asked to speak to a manager, and the sales associate kept saying they are "out of business," which means, they're off today. He refused to contact the manager. After an hour and a half of arguing with the sales associate, he finally called his manager to try to solve this situation. An exchange was offered but every pair sunglasses that I picked up and examined were damaged, and the sales associate kept saying I don't feel comfortable selling these glasses.... Seriously what kind of joke is this? Finally, the sales associate finds a normal pair of sunglasses that he feels safe selling, he cleans them up and put them in the box for the exchange. I take the sunglasses out right in front of them to examine and what do I find, the sunglasses are scratched as well. I have never experienced something like this in my life, this place is designed to steal from the public. I have filed a complaint and am still awaiting to hear back. Save yourself the headache, and just order sunglasses online, where you know they are free of damage. AVOID BUYING HERE! I went to return a pair of brand-new, unused sunglasses within the return period. Luke, the sales associate, claimed there was a tiny scratch, which there wasn't. He examined the lenses for 10 minutes as his long one-inch fingernails were all over the lenses with no gloves making me uncomfortable because I was concerned he might scratch the lenses himself. He even asked a fellow associate to check, who found nothing wrong, but left the decision to Luke. Despite a line of waiting customers, he refused the return, citing a scratch he claimed to see. Luke's behavior was rude and unprofessional, and it almost seems like a scam to avoid processing returns. After reading similar Yelp reviews, I hope the corporate office investigates. Do not go here! Your glasses will be damaged. You will be treated like trash. I had a horrible experience with Luke Hubbard at the Escondido Sunglass hut. I purchased sunglasses for my birthday from the Carlsbad location and the representative was very nice. He said if it didn't work out I could return it. I called ahead of time and I was told I could go to the Escondido location since it was closer to me. I walked in the store with my two small children and Luke was sitting on his phone on tinder or something. I greeted him and told him I'd like to return the glasses. I had everything with me, the box, receipt, packaging and the one time worn sunglasses with absolutely no damage. He took them from me walked away and spray all sorts of stuff on them. He had 2 inch long nails and when he returned he said there was a bunch of scratches and he would not process my return. I told him if there was any scratches it's because of him when he walked away with my sunglasses. I asked for the manger and he stated he does not have one. I walked over to the register to grab a gm's card and he said he was calling security, I laughed and said "I'm here with two kids and I'm grabbing a brochure/business card because you are telling me there is no manager" he said he would lie to security and tell them I was causing a scene. So, I waited at the store until security arrived. Luke actually lied to them saying I jumped across the counter and was trying to go for the money!!! Outstanding customer service! This mall has 2 sunglass hut, on the first and second floors. This review is for the second floor location. Walking in I was blown away by the amazing selection they had (more options than the first floor). After trying on so many sunglasses I finally had a winner, Versace! The customer service in this place walking in to walking out was 5 star all the way. Jalen (I hope that's his name, it said so on the receipt) he was outstanding. They were unwearable (borrowed by teen and returned in lass than pristine condition). They don't sell the kind of glasses I have at their store. We have the same problem as these other reviews, can't return due to "scratches" that we didn't do it because it came out from the box that way and were never worn. We have been buying sunglasses from this store for a long time, even when we don't need them. I have purchased 2 pair of Maui Jim's and 1 pair of Oakley's while my wife has purchased 1 pair of Gucci, 1 pair of Versace and 1 pair of Ray Ban. We went in a few weeks ago and tried on some new sunglasses. We liked a Maui Jim for me and a Gucci for my wife but we didn't want to take the display pair so we ordered new ones to be shipped to our house, at the recommendation of the staff. The box arrived undamaged and the glasses appeared fine as well. When my wife tried on hers, they didn't look like they did in the store so she wanted to return them. She placed them back in the packing that they arrived in and, when time allowed, she went to return them. She handed them to the clerk who took them and "cleaned" them and heated them to try and get them to fit better. When my wife still didn't like them, they wouldn't take them back because there was a mysterious scratch on one of the lenses! They said, since we purchased the insurance, we could pay the $40 to have the lens repaired then we could exchange them. What kind of crap is that?!?! We didn't scratch them! They must have come from the factory that way because it didn't happen in our house. It might have happened when the guy took the glasses, heated them up to bend them and scratched them himself. With this many people complaining about scratches and not the store not taking them back, someone else needs to know. I intend on writing to the Corporate office so they know how these stores are abusing their name. This is not okay. These glasses aren't cheap. They need to fix their process. read more

She was extremely sweet and wonderful and helped me with my return. While Sunglasses Hut is great, the staff at this location have never been. I spent 15 minutes waiting to check out after having shopped by myself. I ended up leaving because what would've been an easy sale to ring up was ignored while the cashier was busy flirting with a customer. It was something I could ignore while I tried on sunglasses. But when it prevented me from making a purchase, I decided I'd rather leave empty handed than have the sales person get commissioned on something they played no part in. I went to this location this morning. TERRIBLE customer service, do yourself a favor and don't waste your time here.

The worker was absolutely clueless on how to do a return. I had my original receipt, mailing package and box for the glasses. Basically, I returned it just as it came... and he decided it would be a good idea to give me a MERCHANDISE CREDIT and I have to wait WEEKS to get my return, instead of my original payment. Since when is this acceptable? Definitely, not for me! I usually check everything, but this time I didn't since I was in a rush and now I have to wait. I even called the number on the receipt and they are just as useless as halloween candy corn. I asked for corporates number and they gave me corporate sales. I am so glad I decided to come on Yelp, seems like many people have had the same issue. On my receipt package it's says 2 years of assured quality. I take extremely good care of my sunglasses especially since I paid over $100 for them. Well the lebces have been wearing away for no fault of my own. I brought it in to get the lenses fixed or exchange them, The first time the girl told me the manager had to be there to approve it and I need to come back. Then the second time i mentioned that there is a 2 year guarantee in which she argued 1, so I took out the Pamphlet (I will post a photo of it) and showed her it says 2 and then I was told there's nothing she can do about it and I have to contact a separate phone number. In addition I was blamed for the damage saying it was due to me leaving it in the car. I don't leave my sunglasses in my car, I keep them in my purse with me at all times when they are not on my face, and I don't leave my purse in my car. I am going to call the number she gave me tomorrow and see how they handle it. If this is not handled properly I will never buy my sunglasses there again and I have bea loyal customer. The reason I invest so much in my sunglasses is because I expect good customer service and quality products, I have received neither of these things. read more

The most inappropriate sales associate BETH gave me info on warranty stuff for my glasses. Just as I was leaving she stopped me and asked how far along pregnant I was. I looked at her in shock and told her I wasn't pregnant. (I just had my second son 6 months ago). I left without saying anything else. I couldn't leave without saying something and I came back and calmly told her how inappropriate and rude it was to assume and ask how far along a woman is. I said that had I been suffering from PPD or anything other depression that could have pushed me over the edge. She was not apologetic and instead got defensive saying how she has 3 kids. This review is for Sunglass Hut in the first floor (Suite 163) as there are 2 Sunglass Hut in the North County Fair. I went to this location to do an exchange and it was late in the evening so there were no other customers in the store. I gave the physical receipt to Marcus, a sales representative and told him that I wanted to do the exchange. I told him that I have already done the exchange once and it is the second time. He told me that I cannot do the exchange because it was already exchanged once. I told him that it should not matter if I exchanged it once, then he proceeded to inspect the sunglasses I brought back. He was inspecting it thoroughly which is fine but it almost felt like he was trying to find a reason for me not to do an exchange. I was browsing for the potential sunglasses I want to exchange, then he told me that he cannot find me in the system so I need to go back to the Sunglass Hut where I had it exchanged previously. He told me that Fashion Valley Sunglass Hut had system upgraded recently and they have a newer system so his old system cannot find my information. I told him that I have the physical receipt so he should be able to exchange. He said that there is nothing he can do because it would mean that he would be giving me a free pair of sunglasses. That did not make sense to me at all because I was asking for an exchange so I am not sure why he said that. I asked him to try again to find me by giving him email address as well as phone number. I saw the keyboard as he typed and suspected of a misspelling so I asked him if I could see the email address he typed up on the screen. He told me to step back because I will see store password. He only showed me the not found screen and did not let me see the email address he typed. I felt like he was just messing with me so I told him to give me back my receipt, asked his name and I left. Not happy with the employees or managers at this location. There are actually two different stores at this mall. Both have employees that aren't very knowledgeable of their products. I would ask a question about the different types of lenses the person kept contradicting themselves. Managers at both stores are very rude, especially the manager of the lower floor store. I spent $120 on a pair of Arnette sunglasses 2 weeks ago. The salesperson told me that Sunglass Hut warranties scratches, damage, loss, etc, for 6 months after purchase. Today, while in a store, i had them hanging on my shirt and somehow got a major scratch in the middle of the left lens. I go back to the store and get told that they will replace them for $60. The part that the salesperson neglected to tell me at purchase is that their warranty is replace at 50% of cost. I told today's salesperson that if they got this major scratch in 2 weeks there must be something wrong with the lenses, to which she told told me that there is no way of knowing so I am out of luck. I then asked what if I paid the $60 and they scratched again in a month. I was told that I would have to pay $90 to replace them. Way to stand behind your products Sunglass Hut. I will never spend another dime with you. I am very glad that the credit card I used to buy them has purchase protection so they will warranty them for me! read more
