I have somewhat of a problem when it comes to sunglasses. I have 11 pairs which may be a bit excessive but hey, I've already admitted that I have a problem. I keep 4 pairs in my car at all times and the rest are in the house. Since I used to work at an optometry office I was able to cop several pairs of expensive frames for the low low, know what I'm saying. I've also purchased several pairs from a variety of stores at discounted prices.
Anyway, with no intentions of buying I decided to peruse the selection of designer frames in the store. Since I was the only customer the employee (turned out to be the manager) on the floor was paying me lots of attention. We got to talking and it turns out that he grew up not too far from where I did.
The selection of sunglasses was awesome, but every frame that I picked up was way more than I would consider paying. However, I almost felt obligated to buy something since I had been in the store for so long and the manager was even pulling frames for me that weren't on the floor yet. I ended up deciding on a pair of Dolce and Gabbana glasses that were on clearance for $69 which is a good deal but still more than I've ever paid for any of my other designer frames. I go up to the register somewhat reluctantly with my sunglasses, but then something amazing happened. The manager rang them up and they came to $46 with tax. Score!
Even though I lucked out on that particular visit I don't think I would go back without actually being on a mission to find sunglasses. As I mentioned before, the selection of sunglasses is vast but unless you're prepared to pay a pretty penny I would recommend trying other stores first (i.e. TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th). read more
