Who knew that ice cream could be art? Let's look no further. Let's get excited for this! It's ice cream in all its glory and glee. We are on vacation! We are out exploring! The joys of ice cream are here! They are real and we are experiencing them here in Vail, Colorado! Wow, as an observer in the game of life we were drawn to this little shop. And it's really off the beaten path. Row after row of shops, it's actually open. The staff are so friendly and welcoming! As we gaze at the menu, it looks great. We choose what! My mind wanders to the one with sprinkles! They have a different way of making their ice cream. It's a cleaner version with better ingredients that an individual can actually use as fuel, not chemicals. They make all their cones in house and actually have one that is coated in sprinkles! We loved the ice cream! The flavors are unique, especially the - Salted Cookies & Cream, which had the perfect balance of sweet and salty. - The Coconut flavor was also delicious, with plenty of coconut flakes that added great texture. - We also tried the Espresso flavor. It was good, but tasted fairly standard and wasn't as rich or bold as I expected. The price is on the higher side--about $13 for two scoops--but the portions are very generous, so it still felt like a good value to be at prime tourist area and in the hot summer day. The waffle cone was fresh, crispy, and delicious as well. We went to multiple sundae locations since it's unique around this area and we like good i-cream. Service is as good as it can be - they were busy so not much of the interaction. Overall, a great ice cream shop, and we are looking forward to come back to try more flavors. read more

Ice cream was really good! I got cookie dough and chocolate. The cookie dough in particular stood out to me and was one of the best cookie doughs I've had. I personally like my chocolate a little richer, but it was still good. There's a huge cone selection. Absolutely cute specialty small ice cream store! It's kind of hidden in the back side of the downtown area but their specialty this month (July/Aug) was a caramelized peach with pecans over sweet cream ice cream! Stopped in for a waffle cone with Salted Cookies & Cream and Muddy Road with rainbow sprinkles! Both flavors were delicious, but the Muddy Road was definitely my favorite. I was expecting a little more of salt in the salted cookies and cream but it was still good! The line was pretty long but it moved fast so the wait wasn't bad at all. This place really should have three money signs not two because I can't remember the last time I spent $12 on one waffle cone with two generously sized scopes. But it was good, definitely high quality from head to toe. Cool spot be sure to walk by the river. Service is also friendly and don't be intimidated by the line. read more

Terrible experience. The service was poor and the manager was super rude to us. We used our points on the loyalty app and the girl didn't know what to do or how it worked. She call her manager and she was rude from the beginning to the end, saying "goodbye"in a rude way. Never coming back. read more

Sundae makes small-batch artisan ice cream and has been here in Vail Village for over 5 years. They make a number of classic sundaes here in addition to scoops of ice cream in a cone or cup. Some choices are banana split, strawberry shortcake and chocolate peanut butter. They also have some coffee drinks on hand. I was craving an ice cream and this place delivered. This place has delicious ice cream and lots of topping options. However, the delicious ice cream is not worth the rudeness that the 4 ladies, working tonight, showed! They were short with customers, one gal rolled her eyes at one point, and another had AirPods in while she was asking us for orders. I'd rather get cheap crappy ice cream from the grocery store than deal with these girls again. read more

Lousy service, disrespectful employees. Advertised hours say open until 10 pm. I went there at 9:30 pm on July 24, 2025. Employees had the door locked and refused to let anyone in to serve them. If your employees insist on closing before your advertised closing time, the change your advertised hours. read more

First time visiting vail and I thought that it would be such a nice idea to get some Ice cream and walk around. However, that's not really how this experience went. From the moment my husband was handed the ice cream, it was already dripping down his hand. This was more like expensive ice cream soup. Not really ideal. I guess hindsight is 20/20 because the line in the shop was long and hot and felt like it didn't have AC in the building at all, so I guess I should have expected melted ice cream. Don't plan on going back. We ordered the Carmel brownie Sundae. Would have been better cold and if the brownies were cut up in smaller pieces. read more

Winter doesn't stop me from eating ice cream so we stopped by to try this spot while in Vail. What I didn't realize is that it's Coldstone style where they mix your toppings in. What I didn't realize about this is that they would mix multiple flavors together if you got more than one. I don't remember which flavors I got, but they definitely didn't go well together and I wouldn't have ordered them together had I known that they were going to mix them together. read more

BEWARE they say they close at 10 PM, but a guy will be standing at the end of the line 10 minutes prior to close kicking you out. I used to work at a highly renowned ice cream shop and would never have a stand for this. All customers welcomed until closing. read more

Best ice cream in Vail! Delicious flavors and nice shop. Get a chocolate dipped cone because they are so good! The shop isn't too crowded and there's plenty of seating outside at tables and benches. In the afternoon on Saturday sometimes they have live music by the bridge where the ice cream shop is and it's fun to listen to the music and eat ice cream. read more

It's beautiful here. The cones and creams are sinful! The employees are super sweet! The mix in toppings are vast. I got the eggnog with gingersnap cookies crushed into the mix. Marvelous combo! Long line but goes quickly and is worth the wait! Mango sorbet plus cheesecake together is possibly the best combo I could have come up with. Went back a second time and the salted cookies and cream was also very delicious, and I am obsessed with the rainbow sprinkled dipped waffle cone. They should have at least 2 people working per shift. The lady working was rude and clearly annoyed as we asked for 1 sample. She was texting while working and when she looked up to see a large group come in, I thought she was going to lose it. Due to her rudeness, I opted not to get any dessert. During a quick lunch stop in Vail I knew I needed some dessert before hitting the road again. There were shockingly few options around noon on a Saturday and then we found this cute shop. Inside we found a fun selection of ice creams, shakes, and sundaes. After a couple of samples to confirm my selection I went with a scoop of Cookie Dough ice cream. It was really good with nice chunks of cookie dough and chocolate mixed in. My husband opted for a milkshake and it was also very good. The shop is cute. Inside there are only a couple of tables, but there were tables outside. Being in the middle of the village there are plenty of other places to head with your ice cream too. read more

The rudest service ever! We walked in about 20 minutes before closing and the girl behind the counter was clearly annoyed. We asked to sample a few flavors which seemed to have annoyed her even more. She even tried to dissuade me from ordering a sundae because the cold stone was "turned off". Her attitude ruined the whole experience. We definitely will not be going back. read more

Friendly service, clean, and delicious ice cream. It's like a Coldstone, meaning you can mix toppings in the ice cream (opposed to on top). When I went to pay, the machine asked if I wanted to leave a tip (not vocally). I have always been a generous tipper, but this new thing where the machine asks if you want to leave a tip leaves me in some awkward situations. On one hand, they weren't serving me in any way. On the other hand, they did mix my ice cream (M&Ms and rainbow sprinkles). After not tipping and feeling not great about it, I asked the girl if she receives tips more or less than 50% of the time. She said, "About fifty percent of the time." I ate my ice cream outside, then went back in and left a cash tip. I'd rather go the kind route than feel like a jerk. read more

The hostess asked if we were staying at the hotel and we said no, we were dropping by for cocktails and wished to sit outside. She told us we could sit inside at a couch area by the entrance. One of our friends walked through the bar and noticed the fire pit seating areas were available and asked a server if we could sit there instead. She looked at us and said she would have to ask the hostess if any were available. Clearly they were and they didn't want our group sitting there for some reason. The bar was practically empty so not sure what the issue would be, perhaps it was because we were not hotel guests. After not getting back to us we just sat ourselves outside. Our server was Nivas. Nivas was not overly friendly but she was attentive. We ordered a couple rounds of cocktails. They were pricy but good. The fire pit tables are very nice. If you can sit outside at a fire pit I would recommend doing so.

We got the breakfast buffet and it was not only worth every penny but also great experience for us. They had everything you would crave for breakfast and it was only 42 per person except the alcoholic drinks. Considering Vail as an expensive place this was our cheapest meal we had with very good quality and service. My fav was the german sausage which taste like the real ones in . I don't think I came across any chicken and the noodles were pretty soft. The broth was very flavorful and unique, though. It also provided the warmth needed on a cold winter day.

Spring skiing this year in Vail was so warm that our ski time was limited to just the morning so…read moreaprès ski started much earlier than usual. I decided to make a long past due visit to Archetype to check out their distilled spirits. In addition to their vodka and gin, they make a long list of small batch distilled spirits of various flavors. When you walk in there are a few high top tables and a long bar. My recommendation is to sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders. They are knowledgeable and will craft a cocktail based on what your favorite flavor profile is. As my friend C says, "if it's muddled N will drink it!" She's not wrong. She speaks the truth. I told the bartender that a cocktail with either the blackberry or strawberry spirits would be a great start. He mixed strawberry with their mint spirit, added soda, and ice in a tall glass. It was really refreshing. Because they have so many different flavored spirits they can craft almost anything. If you like a dirty martini, they have blue cheese and olive flavored spirits. I tasted the blue cheese spirit separately and it was hmmm...interesting by itself but mixed with the olive spirit and "ta-da!" - you've got your dirty martini. Their vodka and wine are made from wine grapes. I didn't get a chance to try either the vodka or gin this time but will definitely be back on my next ski trip to Vail. The distillery is located just a few doors down from Mountain Standard near the bridge over Gore Creek.
