I would not recommend Suncrest for their poor customer service, lack of transparency, and overall carelessness. They show no regard in letting you know what to expect during tenting. My scheduled time was from 11am to 1pm. I was surprised with SoCal gas showed up at 7am. In my multiple calls with their office, Suncrest never told me that the gas company was coming that day. When I told them about this situation, they were rude and just continue to state it's in the contract in a lecturing manner. Suncrest tells me that the tent will be off by 2pm and it will take about an hour to take it. To my surprise again, they arrive at 11am when I am not there and proceed to climb into my house through the second story. I specifically told the office that I wanted to be on site and did not give them permission to enter my home. During the tenting process, they were in no way careful of how they treat your home. They knocked over my cylinder block retaining wall while putting up their tent, dug up my gravel path that they left dug up, broke multiple branches of landscaping including flower pots, and did of this all without telling me. This is first experience working with them and I would suggest finding another company. read more

I didn't end up getting my fumigation done with them, but they did come out to do my free quote and inspection so this is a review for that! I noticed termite droppings in my bathroom and one of my friends recommended a company to me. I called the number they gave and a woman picked up to explain the company I was looking for is no longer existing/the previous owner retired. She gave me all the information to do research on this company and let me know I could text or call if I was interested, which I appreciated the space. I texted back later for a free inspection. Fuia was the person that came to my house for the inspection. He arrived early and texted to let me know, I couldn't do earlier so he patiently waited until the original time. He was very respectful and did come in with boot covers and explained everything to me including showing me the signs of termites outside and gave his recommendation. They sent me the quote a few days later. The quote was a couple hundred more than a quote I received with another termite company so I went with the other company, though I heard this company does do price matching? Over all they had a very chill pressure-free vibe about them, they didn't press too hard and gave me time to think about things. It really was just the price quote difference that I did not end up going with them. I'm not making a technical claim--just sharing what I observed--which left me unsure whether sufficient gas was used. After the work, I didn't hear from the company until ~45 days later, when I suddenly got a past-due email, a text, and a notice threatening legal action within an hour. I had already mailed payment by check about two weeks after service and immediately sent them a copy. The abrupt escalation and lack of post-service follow-up were disappointing. They should provide a post-service report, communicate billing timelines clearly, and allow a reasonable grace period before collections threats. read more

Cheap, fast, easy. I received at least 5 quotes based on Yelp recommendations, and these guys came out on top. The tenting was itself ~$1800 (price depends on size of house... mine was ~1650 sq ft). The real price savings was on the repairs. These guys do it all as their one company so the costs are sizeably larger. Another note... some companies wanted to drill holes in my house where they found termites inside and outside. If you have termites inside, it's likely they won't be able to find them all... just tent your house. It ensures they're all gone! Don't buy into the "natural" remedies gimic. Also, they provide special bags used for storing food, etc., during the fumigation. We put most of our stuff in the car, but did use the bags for freezer and fridge items. In tenting the house, they broke their fence; allowed their nearly blind & deaf dog to wander off through a gate they left open; compromised a huge rosebush that had been 15 years in the making; and worse, CUT DOWN A TREE WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION. ( Why? "It was in their way".) Totally unprincipled. The words clowns and boneheads come to mind. Their onsite staff didn't show up as scheduled, tried to dodge responsibility, and feigned that they didn't speak English (which they did). Caused way too many problems and created way too much work to keep peace in the neighborhood. Their owner Marshall Ihirt had neither the class nor brass to respond directly. This is a major issue and the lack of response and attention to this urgent issue is a concern. Currently STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. Also, it is frustrating that our calls and emails have been unanswered but a Yelp review got an immediate response. I understand that the weather cannot be controlled, but I would expect more proactive communication regarding next steps. For reference, we made arrangements for our pets to be in boarding for the duration of the tenting. Now we have no visibility on when we will be able to re-enter our home or if we need to extend our pets boarding stays. I had a terrible experience with Suncrest, especially with customer service representative Kaileen. They sent an inspector to assess my house on 12/20/23. However, I never received the promised report from the inspector. Approximately a week later, I called them, and Kaileen explained that the inspector had contracted Covid, so could not issue the report. But she said she still could schedule a treatment for 1-3:30 pm on 1/5/24, and I agreed. On 1/4/24, I had not received any report, so I called to confirm the appointment on 1/5. Kaileen answered the phone and was very rude on the phone, claiming that they had already sent the report and accusing me of not checking my email carefully (I double-checked my spam/trash folder and did not find any reports from them). Furthermore, she denied scheduling a treatment for me on 1/5. When I requested to speak with her manager, she responded in an arrogant and rude tone, stating that there was no one else available and said they could call me back and then hung up on me. read more

I just had a fumigation done by them. It went fine but afterwards I noticed a sticky substance spilled on my pavers outside. It's not coming off with a goof off and they are refusing to come out to clean it. The buyers' termite inspector was shocked to learn that it had recently been tented after finding active infestations. We called Suncrest out, and they confirmed active infestations in their report as well (in the same locations). When we asked them to handle the warranty work, they suddenly REVISED the report to say that the evidence of termites were all from OLD infestations, and therefore not covered by the warranty. Used this company because it was one of the cheaper quote compare to others. I was wrong on using them. Communication from support staff was good but the quality of their fumigation preparation is not of standard. They had three guys come over to do the fumigation and they almost destroyed all of my roof tiles until we stopped them at an early stage. They counter 32 tiles after the work was stopped. One, they should have stopped and notified us when they broke a few instead of us telling them to stop when they were throwing tiles to the ground. The guy said he could damage potential over 100-200 tiles. That's some bullshit workmanship. They want to charge me $12 per tile for the repairs in which they damaged. I terminated the work right there. So I called another company to come over the next day and they used preparation methods and only damaged 10 tiles. The other company told me that this company actually damaged over 50 tiles, not 32. I also didn't use this company's wood repair work because I question their quality of work so I rather cut my loss. Imagine if I were to used them for my fumigation, it would have cost me over 2k for unnecessary roof repair. read more

I thought Suncrest handled all the work well - both the wood repair and tenting. I thought the main wood repair guy was quite impressive and a team of three got the work done in 2.5 hours. I just thought their communication left a little to be desired. They need to call right away when the tent comes down, not for me to follow up while their guys are already close to arriving back at their office. Also, be sure to ask about the price match because they did do so. In case you don't know this already, tenting prices are quite a range depending on the company so it's helpful to get three estimates. Fumigation is the WORST but this company made it a breeze! We have a 7 unit complex in Redondo Beach and we needed Fumigation. I was so stressed out trying to coordinate the HOA. We needed signatures and everyone to agree. Suncrest came out and had a very fair estimate and a 4 year warranty which is more than anyone else was willing to offer. They were extremely responsive to all my emails which there were MANY. They even offer wood repairs which we took advantage of. The only reason I had to dock a star is due to project re-work. Had that not been the case, this is a strong 5-star company... After learning about my experience, the owner (Marshall) contacted me to make things right. He personally came to my property and reviewed the structural repairs with which I was unhappy. We chatted, and at the end of the day I think there was a bit of a disconnect between his sales rep and myself during the initial inspection. He agreed the craftsmanship did not meet his expectations either, and scheduled the same technician to come back out and make the fix. The rework was much better, and he threw in some extra linear feet and painted for the trouble. Suncrest is a family company, and Marshall proudly runs it as such. My original comment about them subbing out the tenting turned out to be incorrect. Suncrest does business as FumeCo for termite tenting. After researching I found Suncrest and FumeCo are two licensed operations under the same ownership. At the end of the day the Suncrest sales rep didn't conduct business in a way that originally made me feel valued as a customer and came off as sleazy. However, the owner quickly went out of his way to right that wrong. Recently bought a new house and during escrow we had another exterminating company do the inspection, but due to a few reasons we chose not to use them, instead our agent suggested using Suncrest (she's used them in the past) so we gave them a call. I called and spoke to I believe was Gabby, and we set up an appointment for someone to come out and inspect our future home. As we suspected some termites and dry rot were found around the house. The previous exterminating company would not even consider tenting our place due to having EagleLite Concrete tiles. Suncrest on the other hand was willing to give it a shot, as well as offer to replace a certain number of tiles (if broken during tenting), then over and above that number we'd pay the cost. Come time to tent our home, it was confirmed that although our tile was in great condition, it was pretty fragile, and the number of tiles they figured would be broken was pretty significant, so Marshall (owner?) who was out at the site immediately called me and discussed other options. We decided to go with spot treatment rather than tenting, although we preferred tenting, having to pay for a ton of tiles was just not going to happen. Marshall understood this, and to make us fell comfortable with that decision he gave us a great deal and also assured we had a solid warranty, as well as gave us a great price on future years of treatment. Already being in escrow and being limited in time to get all this done, Suncrest really came through for us. They didn't try to gouge us knowing we were in a bind, instead they understood and helped us work out an excellent solution. The treatment went perfect, after escrow closed and we moved in, we did the wood repair to the dry rot and termite damage. It took the crew one day, and when I returned home they were just finishing up, and I have to say, they did a fantastic job, all the areas they worked on came out perfect, they even removed some large pieces of wood and patched the stucco and painted with some paint we provided. The whole experience could have been a nightmare, but thanks to the patience, compassion and willingness to go above and beyond to assure our satisfaction, Suncrest achieved every aspect of customer service. We dealt with Vy, Gabby, and Marshall, and maybe a couple other folks, but sadly I didn't get their names, but I'm sure whomever you speak with from Suncrest, you'll be extremely happy with the service.
