The many moving parts to our residential solar plus battery system, including the various entities, such as PG&E, Tesla, City inspectors, and the financial backers we opted to use all progressed seamlessly and, for us effortlessly, thanks to hard working individuals behind the scenes. In particular, Skyler could not have been more helpful, managing our project and acting as a point of contact. Others included David in sales who demystified the process, Varon who coordinated with the utility to ensure we met all requirements, and Gino, who collaborated with Maxwell Power (formerly HDM Renewable Finance), the clean-energy company that helped finance our residential system. On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. But, I can say that over a period of several months, I had excellent communication with many helpful people. Skyler in customer service was my primary contact and that made all the difference. My thanks to YES for helping us make this wonderful and complex project a reality. We love our new YES-backed system and look forward to working with the company again in the future.

I can't say enough good things about the team, especially Andy, Carter, and Manny. From the very beginning, Andy was professional, responsive, and genuinely committed to finding a solution. He took the time to explain what was going on with my older system and walked me through the repair options without any pressure or sales tactics. Carter and Manny handled the installation schedule and repair work, and their knowledge and experience were immediately obvious. My solar system is over a decade old, and many companies would have simply tried to sell me a completely new system. Instead, they carefully diagnosed the problem, sourced the right equipment, and got my existing system operating again. Their attention to detail, workmanship, and pride in their work were impressive. What stood out most was the customer service. Every question was answered, communication was excellent throughout the process, and the entire team treated my home with respect. It's rare these days to find a company that combines technical expertise with genuinely outstanding customer care. The system is now producing power again, and I'm thrilled to see my solar investment back in action. If you have an older solar system that needs repair, or if you're looking for a company that truly stands behind its work, I highly recommend Your Energy Solutions and their entire team. Thank you all for your professionalism, honesty, and dedication. Five stars well deserved!

In addition to producing our own clean energy, we were told this would save us money. The install service was mediocre and chaotic. They didn't paint the pipes to match the house. Our HOA dinged us for that and I had to ask them to come back out to correct it. Since our house is three levels, no one goes on that roof. This year's storm caused a bad leak, caused by the work they did. The water was somehow even leakigg my out of the system itself in our garage on the first level. How?!?! We have spent THOUSANDS more than we would have without solar!! No one from the company bothered to tell me about the solar edge app so one year we produced ZERO ELECTRICITY because the system was off and I had no idea until we got the $4600 bill at our tru up due date. We have NEVER seen savings. We pay thousands every year at our tru up time and wish I could get rid of this system!!!! DO NOT GET SOLAR FROM THEM!!!!!!! Their customer service is NONEXISTENT and they don't get a damn about their customers. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

That repair did not resolve the issue and they did another repair in February 2025 guessing again as to cause of the leak and reluctantly on their part at no cost. That repair also did not solve the leak. On 12/30/25, they came out to inspect the roof and told us it would be another $2,534 to repair the leak. Now, I certainly would not give them any additional money or hire them to repair anything as they continue to just guess and try to get more money. Their contracts cover them pretty well as to how they are written and there is not much recourse. They also absolve themselves of any interior damage or replacement costs. They aren't really interested in seeing the job completed and stopping the leak or providing customer satisfaction. I have already gotten one realtor to stop using them and will continue to get as many folks to avoid them as possible to save them the aggravation that we have incurred. No follow-up from inspector when I tried to explain to him that they never solved the issue after two tries and should fix it at no additional cost.

(As well as we wanting to adhere to the true aesthetic style of clean lines and edge profiles) We received 5 quotes and chose Equinox Roofing and we are glad we did. They were not necessarily the cheapest, but the price was competitive, they had a well outlined proposal, great reviews, and there were not any big surprises throughout the process that were not in line with what was outlined in the proposal. Ben, Abel (as the PM) and the entire crew were professional, responsive and worked rapidly to replace the roof in-between rainstorms that surprisingly popped up unannounced on the forecast. They resculpted previously problematic drainage areas through thoughtful insulation techniques that led to improved drainage flow and removed ponding issues that were there with the previous old roof. They also did a great job cleaning up at the end of each day. My wife and I are in the design industry, so we can be overly picky and there were a few tweaks we asked them to do throughout the process - which they did without any hesitation. You can tell they care about their craftmanship. Highly recommend Ben and the Equinox Roofing team.

Armstrong installed a white spray-foam roof on my house in August 2025. I'm very happy with the…read moreroof and highly recommend this company. Before choosing spray foam for the flat roof of my 1950s house, I consulted half a dozen roofers and explored the various options (single-ply, modified bitumen, etc.) and decided spray foam had the best combination of pros and cons, including cost. I was under an insurance company deadline to replace the roof. Wayne at Armstrong was understanding about the deadline and assured me they would meet it. Even though Armstrong is a big company that does a high volume of roof projects, Wayne and the project foreman, Eliseo, found ways to fast-track the job, and they finished a few weeks before the deadline. The project was complicated because of certain issues with the roof. Wayne was great at communicating with us and providing guidance as our carpenter dealt with the various challenges. He always replied quickly whenever I contacted him, and he came by a few times during the prep work we did to check how things were going and provide advice. Wayne has decades of experience at Armstrong and extensive technical knowledge. He was easy to work with and very flexible in adjusting his schedule to sync with our carpenter's work. He was fair and generous in dealing with some unexpected problems that came up. Because of ground settling, one corner of the roof is a bit lower than the others, and heavy rain used to cause a waterfall at that corner. I'd asked several roofers how to fix this. Everyone had a different solution but none seemed completely right. Wayne and Eliseo recommended raising the fascia by 1.5", adding a new drain at the problem corner, and sloping the foam from the fascia to the drains. The problem was that a new downspout at that corner would look terrible architecturally. Eliseo thought of a brilliant solution that no one else had thought of: run the downspout along the siding and tie it to an existing downspout. We did that, the new downspout looks great (minimally visible), and I'm thrilled that their solution fixed the waterfall problem, even during torrential rains. Wayne also provided great advice on various other aspects of project and his team took pains to do a good job, all of which helped with functionality and made the new roof look well-designed and professional. Some of the products that Armstrong uses, like the bonderized steel fascia, are higher quality than what other roofers proposed to use. Note to anyone intending to tear off a tar-and-gravel roof: in our experience the tear-off of the old tar-and-gravel roof was awful. It was done by another company that Armstrong works with. Removing this type of roof is a very messy process. A blizzard of tar and gravel debris and dust went everywhere. The workers put some plastic on the ground around the house, which helped a tiny bit, but with the wind blowing and the gaps between the plastic sheets, the debris went everywhere. Also, Wayne's assurance that the insulation layer on the old roof would keep debris from getting inside the house didn't turn out to be true because of the way the roof was removed. When the tear-off was done, the grooves between the roof boards were packed with tar and gravel debris. The workers wanted to blow the debris off into the yard. We didn't want all that debris in the yard and then had to spend a week vacuuming it up so it wouldn't work its way between the roof boards into the house. Despite all the vacuuming, a lot of debris did fall inside. The tear-off company had tacked up plastic under the ceiling to catch it and they kept saying the plastic would work. In reality, it caught most of the debris but plenty of debris did fall into the house. Cleaning up, both outside and inside, took us a couple of weeks. Maybe there's a better way to tear off a tar-and-gravel roof. Regardless, the new roof is fantastic. Temperature insulation is clearly improved. On hot days, the house no longer heats up like an oven. Heating bills seem to be roughly 15-20% lower. Installing a spray foam roof that performs well requires significant expertise and experience and a top-quality foam product. Armstrong is one of the largest, oldest spray foam companies in the Bay Area, and they stand behind their work with a long warranty. (There are some negative reviews on Yelp. Before choosing Armstrong I asked Wayne about a few of them and he explained the other side of the story that the posters neglected to mention.)
