I am a widow so I thought finding a reliable roof/gutter company would be daunting! It was not once I spoke with Cristen at Cornell Roofing in Concord. Kristen set up an appointment with the owner, Clint, for the next day. Clint looked at my home roof and detached garages roof thoroughly explaining the work that needed to be done. He was easy to talk with and I had a good feeling about him and his company. I received an estimate that evening.and signed a contract within a couple of days.The installation crew started the project within three weeks. This crew was courteous, friendly,EXTREMELY hard working, and didn't leave any debris after completion of the instal. Not even a nail! There was some roof damage due to condensation in the attic and that repair was discussed with me and Clint before it was thoroughly repaired. When our 1990s-era shingles were looking threadbare, Ron from Cornell inspected and told us to replace in 2-3 more years - rather than try for an immediate sale. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Cornell Roofing. I was under pressure from my homeowners insurance about my older roof (it was confirmed by multiple contractors it still had a few more years life to it, but home insurance pushed back hard - "loss of granulation" - I think I pulled a muscle with that eye roll). After getting bids from a number of roofing companies, Cornell got my vote hands down and they did NOT disappoint. So glad I went with them. These were the things that impressed me from start to finish: 1) really appreciated Cristin in their front office; she was on it from start to finish with paperwork, scheduling and coordination; 2) meeting Clint Jr. and discussing options and details; he was able to come out pretty quickly, assessed the roof, detailed my roofing options with no hard sales tactics, just straight up options, cost-point, etc. For the couple of things I wanted to add, he said they weren't necessary but he'd add them to the bid if I wanted them, while reiterating I could keep the cost down if I chose not to include some extras. How refreshing as compared to other contractors who pressure with unnecessary extras. He just straight up gave me his opinion and offered a very fair price; 3) having the roofing crew on site; led by Joshua, they worked hard and had my old roof off in under 2 hours and were well on their way to finishing the installation of the new roof at the end of day 1, and finished on day 2; they were solid and I was extra appreciative of their attention to detail and care. They were careful with the demolition and cleaning up. There was no debris scattered about at all. I have some windows that are lower, and they took care to protect those with plywood. As scheduling availability would have it, I had just gotten my house painted right before the roof went on and I was a little nervous. Didn't need to be, their demolition and cleanup meant nothing hit the house or marred the new paint job (again, wouldn't have chosen to do it in that order, but had to coordinate contractors' availability); 4) really appreciated the heads up on permit requirements; Clint Jr. gave me a heads up that I'd be required to install a gas earthquake valve as part of my roofing permit sign-off. Being told that ahead of time gave me the time to schedule a plumber and have that installed over a week before the roof was even installed, which meant it was there and ready for the inspector when he came by to sign off on the permit. So grateful to know that with time to get it squared away vs. trying to schedule it in the 11th hour. I've gotten multiple compliments from neighbors (I chose to go with a longer-lasting architectural-style asphalt shingle.) Cornell Roofing was recommended to me by my real estate agent as I was preparing to purchase a new home. They did a roof inspection free of charge, and were honest enough to share that while my chimney flashing needed repair and my gutters/downspouts needed to be replaced, that I had 4-5 years left with the existing roof. Clint provided me with a very fair estimate to repair the flashing and replace the gutters and downspouts, and I decided to move forward with him. We've used Clint and company for two roofs over the last 2 years (old and new house). Really top notch work! For our latest roof, they repaired a ventilation issue in our vaulted ceilings, replaced most of the shingles (since addon had newer shingles already) and added ridge vents all over. We also let them know that we were going to have solar installed and they made sure to me that there shouldn't be any issues. Solar install went fine (done by Tesla). On time, on budget, no surprises, great crew, and the roof doesn't leak.

We had a leaking ceiling during a recent wind and rainstorm. Cornell Roofing sent a couple of guys out to do some patch work. But that didn't solve the problem, so they came back out again and covered our rooftop ac unit. That stopped the leak, but a vent in the ac unit burnt a hole in the tarp, so they sent out a third team to recover the ac unit. That fixed it for now. They went above and beyond in helping us stop the leak. Now for the insurance, and the adjuster, that's already starting out to be a headache. read more

I contacted this company to come out and inspect for a roof leak. The woman that answered the phone was nice and said she would get Ronnie to come out and inspect. He came to the house as promised, walked around the roof, went into the attic, walked around again and said he could not locate a problem and left. I got a second opinion from another roofer who found the problem immediately and gave me an estimate in advance. I think this guy just wanted to go home and didn't want to thoroughly inspect my house, because if he did, he would have found the issue. He claimed to be in the business for over 20 years and he was nice, BUT he did not locate the problem which ended up being super simple. Be mindful before calling these people, they seem ok but Ronnie did not put in effort to fix my roof. read more
