Miso udon with tofu

So ono. The only anomaly I eat come from the sea. They were Very accommodating with veggie or seafood choices. I got the miso udon & it actually TASTE LIKE MISO. Not a watered-down cheap substitute. I also told them I really like tofu The croquettes were yum also. (Sorry. Took a couple. It's before the pic)

We came here for a quick, late dinner, and it was ok! I ordered just a simple wonton ramen and my boyfriend got one of the ramen combos with the fried rice and gyoza. My wonton ramen was good but nothing too special. The broth was nice and not too salty. I tried my boyfriend's gyoza and wasn't a huge fan of corn in the filling. He thought the ramen and fried rice were alright as well. The restaurant is spacious and with plenty of seating tables, and I appreciated how quickly we were seated and how fast the food came out!

Menu Side #2

Cozy, clean and friendly atmosphere. We were greeted and seated upon arrival and ordered a few minutes later. We both ordered the crispy seafood noodle. Our food came out very quickly and it was very delicious. Lots of ingredients like shrimp and fish in a tasty broth in the bed of noodles. Very satisfying!!! Water was refilled and service was great. Highly recommend!

First time here and it was great. Wife was craving ramen and curry. Literally down the road from where we were. Pretty good amount of selections and this place reminds me a lot of sumo ramen. If you like sumo ramen then this is the place for you. The curry and ramen tastes the same. Service and fast and food was served right away.

Spam Curry

Friendly service and prices are affordable. Clean and efficient. I like their curry more than their ramen. We got mini spam curry and mini mochiko curry. Spam katsu was thick and crispy! Mochiko chicken was also crispy and flavorful! Good for cooler weather.

Croquette curry

Unbelievable little gem. Family owned. No frills. Hearty and savory food. Prices are on the more affordable side. Vegetarian? Vegan? They can adjust and provide you with something hearty. Just ask the question. We go here weekly to get our curry fix in. They have two sizes so you can adjust accordingly - mini or regular. Parking - free. Absolutely no gripes, this is hands down my comfort food spot.

Awesome and fast service. Delicious food that warms the soul on cold and rainy night.

Vegetable Ramen

Walked in and we were greeted right away by a woman working at the front counter who told us we could pick a table. Once we sat down she came over right away with waters and menus. We ordered, Kim Chee fried rice, 2 katsu ramens, and a combo vegetable ramen with fried rice and gyoza. I don't eat pork and when I mentioned this to our sever she was immediately accommodating and said they could make the fried rice without it. Everything was delicious and portions were generous. They have excellent combination options and the prices are reasonable. For katsu, ramen, fried rice, etc, this is a solid option in Salt Lake and we will definitely be back. Overall: excellent service, delicious food, clean dining room, and good prices.

Spicy chicken wings and curry

Quick stop for dinner. First time trying this place and won't be our last. Service is great. Menus and water came out fast. The server was pleasant and helpful with our questions. I ordered the spicy garlic chicken wings with curry. First the curry...was piping hot and included carrots and onions. Was on the sweeter side compared to typical Japanese curry. The wings...wow. Crunchy, garlicky, spicy...Ono goodness. I could eat a dozen. Swing by and support these local small businesses.

Shrimp Tempura Curry

I ordered shrimp tempura curry! Its really delicious. Its quiet for a Saturday. The restaurant plays chill local music which makes the ambiance relaxing.

Garlic Tonkatsu

Not really a ramen person unless its really good-- and this garlic tonkatsu ramen is realllly good! no wonder people drive here ... tasty- reasonably priced- good portions- friendly service- and they open at 9:30 am - great for me after being cold after an ocean swim!! Gyoza is good too- I drank all the broth which I hardly do-

This is the best ramen I've ever had! I've been looking for something like this in San Diego and can't find anything that can beat it.

Food is bland. It has no flavor. I got the katsu curry ramen and it came with a small piece of meat & flavorless ramen. Not worth it.

We had a 4 hour layover in Honolulu and it was a quick 15 minute Lyft ride here to Lucky Belly. We were the only party here right at 5:30 pm. Loved the art and clean simple elegance of the exposed brick wall and wood tables. We were greeted and served by a very friendly host. We had the duck tacos, plus the special dim sum appetizer combo of pork belly bao, lobster dumplings and oxtail dumplings. We could not pick a favorite. The variety of textures was fantastic and each of the meat fillings were perfectly seasoned and tender, delicious! Each had a different sauce- just enough, not too much. Nothing was spicy but there was chili oil on the table if you wanted to add more heat. We got 2 nonalcoholic spritzers, one lilikoi and one hibiscus, which were each refreshing and complimented the meal. Since the service was so efficient, after eating, we still had time to zip over to Magic Island to stroll around, take in the scene and enjoy the sunset before heading back to the airport. Our last evening in Hawaii was really special thanks to this delightful restaurant!

All of the window seats were empty. In fact the restaurant was nearly empty. We were told the only option for us was the inconspicuous booth at the back of the restaurant. Not a good start. The food was okay. There was more than we were expecting, however the short ribs were a little tough. The ambiance, it was nice and empty by the time we left. Overall, what had been something we'd been looking forward to for years turned out to be a dismal disappointment. The experience left us feeling unwelcome, particularly because it seemed the staff were uncomfortable with two men simply going out for lunch. Being a Black and Asian couple shouldn't have any bearing on how paying customers are treated, but unfortunately, that's how the experience felt to us. We can overlook mediocre food or service, but feeling judged or unwelcome is something we won't overlook. We were there as paying customers and deserved to be treated with the same courtesy and respect as anyone else. Unfortunately, this is a place we won't be returning to, and based on our experience, we would not recommend it to others.

5 Stars - Goma Tei Ramen…read more Goma Tei Ramen - Ala Moana 1450 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96814 Visited: September 6, 2026 This was my first time at Goma Tei Ramen, and I really enjoyed it! I ordered the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen, Level 3 ($19.75), and it was excellent. Level 3 definitely brought the heat--it was very spicy, but just as importantly, it was incredibly flavorful. I loved it! The others in my party all seemed to really enjoy their meals as well. We also had Wakame Tan Tan Ramen ($14.99 each), a Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl ($15.99), and Seafood Fried Rice ($19.99). Our subtotal was $89.21 before tax. The service was fast and friendly, and overall it was a great first experience. If you enjoy ramen with some serious spice and plenty of flavor, the Level 3 Spicy Tan Tan is definitely worth trying. I'll definitely be returning!

I was able to go for lunch on a random weekday which had zero wait thankfully. I ordered their Tan Tan Ramen with Pork Tonkatsu. They offer to keep the tonkatsu on the side but I like when the breading absorbs some of the flavor from the broth. The noodles were al dente and the tonkatsu was tender. I think the price is decent and the food comes out pretty fast, but the soup was grainy and had a layer of sourness that didn't hit right for me.

My bf and I both got the $35 meal sets. I also ordered a frozen beer and I thought the whole thing would be a slushie but it's only the top. Anyway it was fun and delicious. Service - no complaints. Workers were nice and things went smoothly Ambiance - lots of outdoor seating. It was casual and we had no wait.

TLDR: do yourself a favor, don't ruin your night in Waikīkī, skip this place…read more The food: I ordered a tonkatsu ramen, karaage, and a roll. First off, for a $25 ramen bowl, the ramen had small broken pieces of meat that disintegrated into the bowl of ramen, the ramen itself was stuck together like a package of undercooked instant ramen, and the soup barely covered the noodles, was SO incredibly salty I couldn't even eat it and had to water it down with my cup of water. The kaarage was ok, only 4 pieces in a serving and the best part was probably the sauce that had some flavor. Nothing special. To top off this meal, $15 for a California roll that looks like a $5 side dish size that you'll likely need 3 servings of to fulfill a meal was the most disappointing part. The rice broke off easily, the roll was loosely done and picking it up with chopsticks to dip some soy sauce? Forget it...impossible since it just broke into pieces and I'm fishing for the remnants of my roll. $58 for this terrible meal? I know inflation is real but this is not even worth $25. After this meal, I was incredibly thirsty so a lot of MSG must've been in that salty soup that I already added half my cup of water into to make it somewhat edible. Never would I ever recommend this restaurant, there are so many amazing restaurants in Waikiki that are worth the visit instead
