I ordered from a store way on the other side of the country because they were the only ones that had the Oakley Feedback in stock with a particular colorway I was interested in. They sent me the wrong frame (pictured). No problem--I explained the situation, sent photos, and they were very accommodating and allowed me to send the item back. When they got the item back, they said it was the wrong item... no duh, it was the wrong item... hence me sending it back. The girl that called me was very nice and understanding, but the person in the email exchange gave me a really hard time and they charged me a restocking fee even though it was their mistake! Unbelievable. "Enjoy the karma", Sun Sports. read more

Sun Sports Plus - Outdoor Gear Near Me - Naples, Maine

A fabulous boating day through the locks to Naples for lunch. We stopped at Sun Sports to look for a sun shirt. Kirsten was so friendly when my friend asked her where she could find them in the store. I was so pleased she walked around the counter and personally led her to them. Great customer service. While she was shopping I noticed an amazing necklace that the associate was wearing. Excitedly she told me that it was something she carried and continued to show me it and put it on me to try on. I absolutely adored it and purchased it. Not a typical purchase for me but the whole experience was so nice and genuine and made me so happy! So glad I stopped into this shop. Not only do they have and rent water equipment, it is beautifully curated with specialty jewelry, gifts and accessories! You can tell this just isn't a tourist location... it attracts locals as well! read more

I never leave reviews, and especially never leave negative ones but here goes. Took my family on a 3 day trip to Frye island. Bought a water tube. Not half a day into our trip.... Hadn't done anything except float on a towable tube, tube was flat. They were great at getting us set up and out the door, but when I went to try for a quick exchange it's like they flipped a switch. The valve was faulty and we took our boat from Frye through the locks to exchange for a day of tubing only to be told that it would be 24 hours to ensure it's a faulty valve to get a refund. Who has 24 hours when they've already wasted 2/3 of their trip. Ended up returning the tube and unopened rope. Would've been better off ordering off Amazon and getting free shipping on a tube. Probably would've gotten to us quicker as well. What a waste of a day ... but also I caution you because this god awful company was going to send us back out the door with faulty equipment.... Just dangerous. Great at selling you stuff, but don't trust them, and they are terrible when you have to return. read more

We started to wake board a few years ago. The crew in the store has always taken the time to ask lots of questions and provide us with the product that is best for us. When it comes to the kids stuff they talk to them and treat them like the customer. My kids love to go in because they feel like they are getting what they need. They do not push the most expensive stuff either. I always feel confident that what we got was the best thing for us. We had some screws back out of a board we did not even buy from them and they searched all over the store to find the correct screws we needed. Even gave us a spare set! I have checked on line and their prices are very competitive. We have also rented the wake boat from them a number of times. They always have a great captain. They have great pointers for the kids and keep the time on the boat enjoyable. Great family run business. read more

Rented 2 Standup Paddle Boards today from Harry & Kirsten, the owners. Epoxy BIC Boards were in great condition. Staff was super friendly and they were helping an inexperienced customer next to us become confident enough to try this fun sport. I think they gave her some free ground school before launching them, which is A+++. $25pp/hour was a reasonable rate, and they didn't mind we went a little over our hour. Staff carried boards to town dock for us to launch. Only thing that would have earned 5 stars (and a tip to the staff) would have been seeing us on our return trip and helping us transport the boards back the shop (it's right across the street though). With a 13 year old niece I could manage carrying both, but if one or both of the young helpers were around it would have been a quick $10 tip IMO. All in all, great small business and it's the 2nd summer I have rented from them. If I haven't bit the bullet and bought some boards by next summer I will be renting from them again! P.S. They are selling off their rentals right now for around $650 a board... great time to pick up a lightly used SUP! read more

Terrible customer service after 700 dollars spent in their store the day before. They were no help in trying to switch out a vest that I bought that didn't fit. Don't recommend. read more

Worst customer service ever. Purchased an item went to exchange it the next weekend because it was damaged (it was a gift) they would not exchange it but offered to reach out to the dealer and would get back to me. Checked in with them numerous times with no answers and still no exchange of the item. Still waiting to hear back and it's going on 4 weeks now. read more

Be careful renting anything from these people. They don't understand that a 2 day rental means 48 hours, they over book and still charge top dollar. Customer satisfaction is not top priority !!!!! read more

Over the past 9 years we have rented a waterski-kneeboard-tubing boat for our kids. Each time (4 times total) the captain they provided was professional, courteous, worked well with young kids and the boat was perfect. The lake is absolutely gorgeous, by the way. Sun Sports moved locations a couple years ago (just down the strip) and the new location has a great selection of all kinds of surf/ski apparel and equipment. All of the staff were very friendly and we look forward to returning there again soon. Highly recommend. read more

Wanted to take my kids out for some waterskiing and tubing this summer. Opted to "try it all" The SUNSPORTS+ Experience $375/half day Called to make the reservation as it was for the next day (this can also be done through the website). Payment confirmation and reminders sent via text. Showed up a bit early to sign a waiver, change, and first application of sunscreen. Don't forget to use sunscreen. Store staff very helpful and friendly. Went across the street to the boat. After a quick test-fit of life jackets "Ron" welcomed us aboard (what seemed to me) a top-of-the line boat designed for wakeboarding. (this was not a bad thing at all) Safe dry storage for your phones, glasses, and towels. It also had a radio for music. Shoes are kept on the dock to help protect the boat. The canopy really helped us stay out of the sun. Still... Don't forget to re-apply sunscreen. The boat driver can very easily make/break an experience like this and Ron was great at making sure everyone was safe while keeping things fun. The weather was perfect with 80 degree water. The kids tried waterskiing for the first time and one even got up for a bit thanks to Ron's expert guidance. The remainder of the day was spent tubing, tubing, and oh, yah... Tubing. The kids had an absolute blast! Wrapping-up the afternoon I managed to leave my glasses on the Boat. Ron went out of his way to insure that they were there and waiting for me at the front desk the next morning (even sent a text and left a voicemail that he had them). Highly recommended, especially with Ron. read more

Best watersports shop in Maine. We make a couple trips a year just to buy stuff. We have rented and purchased many things from them and have had nothing but positive experiences. Had a problem with an item and they made good on it right away. (It was a manufacturing defect and not their issue). Would recommend to anyone. read more

Ron is amazing!! For three years my daughter has tried to water ski at camp but never quite got the hang of it. She wanted to give it one more chance before camp begins to help her decide if she should sign up for water ski again or something else. Two tries and Ron had her up and flying. What a smile! Ron is encouraging, knowledgeable and tons of fun. She skied so much that they decided to try wake surfing behind the boat. Awesome! Gotta try it. And ask for Ron. He is fantastic. Couldn't ask for a nicer guy. read more

Very over priced on sales and rentals! Building is too small for their product which forces them to put a lot outside and it looks messy. I also understand that the same people own the ice cream shop right next door which also is way over priced and crowded feeling. The woman/owner is a little in your face and obnoxious. Kids scooping the ice cream were fantastic :) read more
