    Comfortable and clean bedroom!
    Chanele R.

I have stayed in two separate cottages here, and I can say without hesitation that the facilities are well-maintained and comfortable. The privacy afforded with a cottage certainly beats a hotel, not to mention you get a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need (minus food) to make meals. I had plenty of hot water, good climate control, and a very, very comfortable sleep in both of the cottages. Everything was sparkling clean, and the linens and towels were fresh and high-quality. In addition, the staff is absolutely wonderful and kind. I never met anyone rude, but rather I marveled at how happy and upbeat everyone seemed, always willing to help. The manager, Norma, especially goes above and beyond in her duties. The RV sites are clean and well-maintained. Even though there are some permanent residents, nowhere in the park looks trashy. If anything, their flags and planters improve the overall appearance. People take pride in their park, and it shows. The amenities (two pools, fitness center, two laundries) are well-maintained and clean. There are a lot of social activities for long-term residents, as well as short-timers. While I was there, they had a breakfast, a social hour with doughnuts and coffee, and a karaoke night with snacks. They also do special holiday events, like corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day. There is a strong spirit of community here, and everyone embraces newcomers as well as their old friends. I will not hesitate to stay here any time I am in Austin. It is a bit far from downtown, but it's so peaceful and charming, not to mention just minutes from Lake Travis!

We ended up spending 16 days at La Hacienda RV Resort. Originally, we were going to stay for a week but we fell in love with Austin and the RV park was one of the best ones we have stayed at. Check-in was simple and ever interaction we had with the office was pleasant. They were always quick to help and very friendly. We had a number of packages, letters arrive, and they went as far as to call me to know they had arrived. That is service. This RV park had water, sewer, and electric hookups and cable TV. The only negative part of our stay was the unusable WiFi; but at this point of our journey, we never expect WiFi to work. The laundry facility was large, had newer machines and the wash price was a little more expensive than other campgrounds we have stayed at. The space between the RVs was generous and the length of the spaces facilitated a more quiet stay. Would I recommend this park? Absolutely. Would we come back? Absolutely. Informational: We travel in a 36' Class A RV.

    Our cottage for the weekend!

My family and I loved staying for the weekend in the one bedroom plus loft! It was super clean and had everything you need just have to buy food, bring your clothes and hygiene items and your set! The pool was clean and big and my boys enjoyed the playground. The RV Park was well taken care of and the people were very friendly. The only thing I would recommend would be to stop at the grocery store before you arrive because it's a 10 min drive which isn't bad but there is quite a bit of traffic. We will definitely be back because we enjoyed it so much!

The owners have gone to incredible lengths to ensure that The Famous Float House continues to deliver on its reputation as one of the most fun, uniquely situated, spots on all of Lake Travis for all ages. And like we always do, we were totally able to rent a Tri-toon boat from a local marina and motor it into the canal where the Float House is located and then use the awesome motorized dingy the Float House owners provide to run people and coolers out to the Tri-toon for then our usual amazing afternoon on Lake Travis. The whole thing was a breeze. And the new little motorized dingy is so much fun to have at the Float House to cruise around in and fish from. Anyhow, it could not have been a better, more fun weekend and we can't wait to go back later this season.

The outdoor tree swings broke and we are lucky no one was seriously injured. Ac did not keep the bungalow cool, we made it manageable with the fan on full blast but it definitely was warm. They have windows in the bathroom with no sunshades or curtains, fully exposed. Same with a large window in the closet, fully exposed with a closet door that only closed halfway. The water is undrinkable, so bring bottled water. Toaster was broken, some glasses had holes, the overall feel of the bungalow was unkept unmaintained and overpriced. Although our television didn't work in our Bungalow, we had a blast with our neighbors for the night on Friday, so the lack of a television was a moot point. The Bungalow was small and was appointed with a bunk bed, queen bed, small table, and kitchenette. There was also a small stand-up shower and toilet. We spent very little time in the bungalow other than to sleep and heat the food that we brought (we brought food because there is no dishwasher in any of the bungalows, and I didn't want to wash dishes by hand). We had a large number of guests traveling from out of state to attend, and we struggled with finding accommodations that would fit our needs. We wanted to be able to make a nice recommendation for guests that would be close to the wedding venue and allowed the use of a shuttle service. Many of the nearest hotels were in Cedar Park, which was not as close as we would have liked. After some research, we found North Shore Vacation Rentals which had a large number of rental properties within The Island on Lake Travis. Having so many rentals in one area made shuttle service much easier to plan. From the moment I reached out, Katie and the staff at North Shore were such a pleasure to work with! They really went out of their way to help make my very large room block work smoothly. Katie personally showed us the property and a number of the rentals before we committed, and we were impressed by the shape that many of the condos were in. The Island also offered a few amenities, including access to swimming pools, a spa, outside barbecues & picnic tables and even a bar/restaurant on property (where we hosted our after party following the wedding reception). I am so happy we chose to go this route not only for the convenience factor, but also for the exceptional customer service that was provided. Katie even walked the entire property with me the weekend of our wedding to help me distribute welcome gift bags for our guests. In addition to rentals within The Island, North Shore also offers other rental properties. One very nice house in particular located just a short distance from The Island was rented out by a group of guests as well. Guests had nothing but nice things to say about the business, all of the beautiful lakefront views, and the numerous deer sightings in Lago Vista. If you're looking for a place to stay in the area or just an excuse for a getaway, I would highly recommend considering a rental through North Shore Vacation Rentals!

We were not disappointed. The views from the deck & the bedroom are gorgeous. There was always a nice breeze blowing while we sat in the rocking chairs relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake. Bruce met us out front shortly after we arrived while we were unloading our bags. The Tree Lodge has its own private entry & stairway so there is plenty of privacy, but at the same time Bruce was close at hand if we ever needed anything. Fortunately, I know the Austin area fairly well & there were no problems with the room so other than recommending a couple of places to eat & ride (we were on the motorcycle) we had privacy the whole weekend. Speaking of places to eat, I would recommend that you try County Line BBQ on FM 2222. Great place w/ good food. The Oasis is nice for a margarita & a wonderful view, but the food is just so-so & a little pricey for what you get. Bruce recommended a place on Hudson Bend not far from the Tree Lodge (I can't remember the name but it was a Mexican cafe) and they served a delicious breakfast. If you get downtown, try Corazon on the Castle...especially for Happy Hour. Bruce also recommended the Iguana, which is on 620 not far from the Tree Lodge but we never made it there. As far places to see, you should check out Mt Bonnell, which is also off of 2222 about 2 miles past County Line BBQ. The Oasis is a must-see even if you just go there for dessert or a drink. Take some time to drive some of the roads in NW Austin. Also check out the bats under the Congress Street bridge. Go to the TGIF at the Radisson on Cesar Chavez about an hour before sunset & get a table on the patio. At dusk they come out & fly down the river (Lake Austin). Barton Springs is nice & a tour of the Capitol as well. And, obviously, you gotta try 6th street for some good music & even better "people watching". Overall, the Tree Lodge was a great place to stay. The only thing that could make it better is if there were a hammock & a hot tub. The only negatives would be the hot water doesn't last long (just enough time for 2 adults to shower if you hurry) & the fridge is kind of small. Keep in mind that this is not really a B&B. There is not really anything to eat in the Tree Lodge but Austin is like a food Mecca so there are plenty of places to eat and, if you prefer to stay in the whole weekend, you can just bring your own as there is a microwave & a fridge. We plan on coming back again. Thanks again Bruce for a nice place to hide away & for the suggestions on where to ride. The house is comfortable for six to seven adults. Communication was stellar until check-in time. Bill and Vanessa were very good via email and text before our arrival. Bill called us at around 1 pm to welcome us and tell us that "the house is ready". Check-in was at 3 pm. We arrived at 3:20 pm and found the cleaning crew was still there. We had to wait outside until 3:45 pm in 96-degree heat until they were done. Vanessa texted, "We will get you a gift card to the beach club grill for the inconvenience". The next morning, I texted Vanessa asking for an extra parking pass. I never heard back from her or Bill. No gift card. No parking pass. A few minor concerns with the property: nasty stains on the carpeting near the entry, GFCI outlets needing to be reset more than once, only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, and a nest of red wasps living under the second-story balcony. Yes, these are minor complaints in a world rife with many bigger issues. However, we were disappointed enough to share these concerns. We would certainly return to this area and neighborhood, but not this property.

This caused my booking to be cancelled and I had to rebook and reverify. VERY inconvenient but everything got worked out. When you pay $900+ per night you don't want to be inconvenienced while trying to book. The Reserve is a nice community, but like all managed "premier planned" suburban areas they are very Nazi-ish with rules and enforcement. Again, when you're paying over $900 per night it's very off-putting and insulting to constantly be reminded of the rules. They treat you like you're a college kid trying to sneak and throw a frat party while you're parents are away for the weekend. Our rental even had cameras on the house that were actively being monitored (details below). VALUE: I don't normally complain about price so I won't do it here. Let's just say that this place is expensive. I voluntarily paid the money but it's a high price. HOUSE: Nice place, very clean. Premium decor - Texas modern rustic. Complimentary prosecco in the fridge upon arrival was a nice touch. Bring your own food/drinks/condiments (salt, pepper, etc.)/ice. All utensils for just about any kind of cooking and everything needed to have nice dinner parties were there. We had an issue with POOL: I did a cabana rental for 2 days at $50 per day. Rentals include a complimentary pitcher of beer or margarita per day. Pool was nice and in good shape. Lazy river, kids pool and infinity pool as well as swim up bar and snack bar are all part of the pool. You aren't allowed to bring any alcoholic beverages, food, or coolers into the pool area. They did allow us to bring an individual cup or water bottle. They will search your bags for food/alchohol/etc. if you bring large bags. LOCATION: Be prepared to drive 40 minutes to anywhere. There's enough restaurants, entertainment, etc. 45 minutes away. All-in-all this was a good place to stay. The main reason this is not a 5-Star review is because I was contacted by TurnKey with a threatening call because the management/owner were watching us on the Arlo/Netgear camera (Nazi-ish) on the back patio (there's a camera on the front porch and back patio) and thought that one of my guests was on the back patio smoking. None of us are smokers and it was insulting for them to accuse us of smoking (I'll say it again for emphasis... when you're paying over $900 per night).

My cousin and his family have a membership here and they invited us to come out for the day. When you are driving out there it feels like it is kind of in the middle of nowhere and then all of a sudden this paradise appears. We spent time at the marina. This was the nicest marina I have seen in the Austin area for sure! I could tell everything is taken care of with the utmost care possible. The marina is treated somehow as well so that the cobwebs and spiders don't take over your boat and slip area, which is super nice and convenient. There is also room for outdoor kitchens and patio furniture at the front of each slip. People have grills and stuff out there too. I gathered that it is a thing to just hang out at your slip area and cook out with your friends and family and you may or may not even take the boat out. After we took the boat out and came back in we road the golf cart up to the lazy river. This is where it really started to feel like a resort for me. They have a decent sized lazy river that is so much fun! There is a swim up bar on one side and the bar opens to the deck area on the other side. There are plenty of tables to sit at and chase lounge chairs in the sun and shaded for total comfort and relaxing. I had a few perfectly made margaritas from the bar and had a wonderful time hanging out with my family and floating the lazy river! The Reserve property is actually pretty huge! They also have cabins you can rent out, tennis courts and a park area. There is lots of places to hike around as well. This would be the perfect family get away spot and it is not too far from other cool outdoor things like Krause Springs, Hamilton Pool Park and of course Lake Travis!
