#WhereAreLoveyAndMillieHowlNow #sunoutdoorslaketravis…read more We are on a year long trip throughout the continental United States in an RV and thought it might be helpful if we added reviews of places we've gone or stayed from a dogs perspective. So here we go The humans booked us right outside of Austin, Tx at the Sun Outdoors Lake Travis RV park and we have to say we give this place 's from a dog perspective one of the things we loved the most were the 3 dog parks, so space for all of us regardless of personalities. Each dog park has a few big trees for shade, picnic bench for the humans to sit & bags and trash close by. While there are no jungle gyms for us to play on, we are ok with that as that gives us more room to run off the crazies. Also no water bowls @ 2 of the parks, but the largest did have a water bowl along with a doggie wash station The park had nice wide roads throughout so the humans can walk us and if there are any other dogs, each can pick a side of the road if needed! Also a nice off road walking path. RV site - nice and enough room between RVs so you don't feel on top of your neighbor. Usually a tree or two per site, picnic table, and grass at our site. Only downside, no fire pit but it was warm out so we didn't really miss it. Humans are happy tho, 50amp service, great water pressure, and sewer available at each site AND daily trash pick up RV park - nice wide roads, no low overhanging branches, gravel site but level enough and enough room for a 42' trailer + truck Took about 20-40 mins to get to downtown Austin depending on traffic. Pool and jacuzzi for the humans, along with a airstream cafe at the pool! also a gym and a clubhouse, again for humans We would definitely stay here again, everyone was nice and the park was kept in great condition #bringfido

Emma Long Metropolitan Park is located on Lake Austin, thus, you have spectacular views from the park. The hubs and I were not here for walking today but have a table picnic. The park has a portfolio of activities to choose from...a sandy beach style swim area, big shady picnic areas, camping sites, and incredible Hill Country views. When we visit, we normally spend a few hours, however, you could easily spend a lot more. You might ask, "Who is Emma Long?" Emma Long was a pioneering Austin civic leader, journalist, and politician best known as the first woman elected to the Austin City Council and a major advocate for civil rights, public parks, and working class citizens. The large lakeside park on Lake Austin, Emma Long MetropolitanPark, was named in her honor. The swimming area has a gradient entry into the lake with plenty of room to relax. There are also boat ramps, fishing areas, volleyball nets, and open space that's wonderful for just chilling. For hikers, the Turkey Creek Trail nearby is a park bonus and does not require paying the park entry fee. Yes, there's a park car fee of $XX . If you family members, business groups or couples, this is a great park to satisfy diverse tastes.

We are full-time RVers and have stayed at parks across 19 states over the past two years. We've…read morereturned to this park several times during trips back to Central Texas, but our most recent stay (beginning November 2025) was, without question, the worst experience we've had here. While management has never been exceptional, it has deteriorated significantly. Communication is poor, follow-through is nearly nonexistent, and issues only get addressed after repeated reminders--often to the point of frustration. The most concerning problems involved infrastructure failures: * Major water leaks persisted for months at a time. The first leak took approximately 2-3 months to repair. Shortly after, a second major leak developed and again took months just to initiate repairs. When we left on April 1, 2026, the issue still had not been fully resolved--despite the leak being temporarily stopped, the road remained blocked and the work incomplete. We also witnessed water actively bursting out of another site. * Septic system failures were another serious issue. At one point, raw sewage was leaking, making it nearly impossible to sit outside due to the odor. This took months to resolve, and management repeatedly shifted blame between contractors, ownership, and other parties. Even after repairs, trash related to the issue remained on-site as of our departure. On quieter nights, you can still hear septic alarms from poorly maintained systems throughout the property. * Grounds maintenance is severely lacking. Landscaping appears to be neglected entirely, with weeds overgrown throughout the park. * Amenities are poorly maintained. While the park advertises a gym, most equipment is unusable. Only the free weights are functional; treadmills are loose and unsafe. Equally concerning is the lack of experienced, accountable management. No decision-making manager lives on-site, and it is evident that those in charge lack firsthand RV experience. For a park catering to full-time RVers, this is a major oversight. Effective management requires both presence and understanding of the lifestyle. Policy changes also influenced our decision to leave earlier than planned. As of April 1, a new requirement was implemented mandating background checks for guests staying longer than two weeks, with a $35 fee per person. While the background check itself is reasonable, applying this fee to current residents--who were already staying and committed--was not. Management's unwillingness to absorb or grandfather this cost for existing guests reflects the same lack of accountability and consideration seen in other areas. Another policy implemented was a $500 yearly fee to the park to have a golf cart. Combined with the background check fees, these added costs further reduced the overall value of staying here. Management would rather lose active income than absorb a minimal cost compared to losing significantly larger monthly revenue. I am personally aware of at least 10 monthly residents who chose to leave as a direct result of these policies. Overall, this property has potential, but the current management approach falls far short. Until there are significant improvements in accountability, maintenance, and on-site leadership, we cannot recommend staying here.

Sounded like something fun to do after work. From the main road you can see a sign that says Ranch Park. Just follow the short road to get to the parking lot. There is a small dirt area you can park. Take the stairs down to the building. In front of the building there is parking, but on the side of the building there is even more parking. So, plenty of parking. There was a long line of people waiting to get in. But the line moved pretty fast. Didn't take long before I got inside. My ticket was a QR code on my phone. Easy to scan and go through. They did offer food once inside. Hot dogs, hamburgers, frito pie, IYKYK. Basic food. Nothing fancy. There was a small area where you could buy monster truck t-shirts, and light sticks for the kids. I think when you buy your ticket on line, you can also pay to ride in the monster truck. I think it was $15.00. And you ride in the bed of the truck in the back. The truck goes around in a circle a couple times. The truck named Tantrum was giving the rides. The show was from 6pm to 7:30pm I feel like it started later than that. Tantrum was still giving rides at 6:30pm. When the rides were over the trucks came out to introduce themselves. Then the national anthem. Then, that's when the show actually started. It was 4 monster trucks and 2 jumps. They went around in a circle, hit a couple jumps, and then let the next truck go. There was a motorcycle that came out and did a number of jumps. Pretty amazing the height he got. All in all, it was entertaining. I left a little early just to beat the traffic getting out of there. Worked out great. I am glad that I brought ear protection, just what I use when I'm at the gun range. And that worked out perfectly. Pretty much everyone there including lots of kids, all wore some kind of ear protection. Fun, entertaining night. Both young and mature.
