I have walked past this location a few times and finally decided to go in and try it. I order salt pepper wings and if you have read my reviews before you know I love salt pepper wings. I also ordered a side of chicken fried rice. I have to say this place had amazing salt and pepper chickening wings, they were right amount of salty. The pepper did add a nice kick. Over would recommend the wings. The fried rice was good I a lot of chicken in the rice they're not stingy when comes to the chicken. Overall my visit was excellent and the service was great and at the end of my meal I got four slices of fruit that tasted like kiwi and pear missed together not sure what it was but it was super sweet and juicy. Would recommend this place to someone who is looking for good Chinese food and can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

Under cook beef and the meat don't look right. Stay awayyyyy.

The food is not great please don't waste your money here. The beef don't look right and it's under cook. If you need good laxative eat here. Had to put 1 star to post. I wish they had it in the negative

Good food and portions at Sun Kwong. Prices are reasonable at this little hole in the wall mom and pop restaurant

MASSIVE HAIRS IN FOOD AND STORE REFUSED REFUND I ordered pot stickers to go. When I got home, I opened the box to find a MASSIVE clump of hairs (see photo/videos below). It's unbelievable that the folks packing the food didn't notice the massive clump of hairs. But I get it ... mistakes happen. What's worse is I immediately called the restaurant to simply ask for a refund. I offered to share photos/videos but they refused to issue the refund unless I came back to the restaurant with the food, which for obvious reasons had already been placed in the garbage...

I ate here as a kid and have many fond memories. I remember really good Chinese food, everyone in the family was happy with no complaints. I came by to do take out a few days ago and the food is lovely, cooked with care and just good old comfort Chinese food. The portions are HUGE, prices are decent, what else can you ask for? I ordered the Kung Pao chicken, black bean sauce bitter melon (which came with fish, doesnt state that on the menu), tofu & mushroom clay pot and veggie fried rice. Every single dish was edible, not too oily, fresh food. Pick up was a breeze and the lady was very sweet and smiling. Looking forward to coming here more often..

Sun Kwong's staff are super friendly and the food is great. Other reviews weren't kidding when they said large portions! Hard to find in the city nowadays. Loved it. Recommend.

It was busy and people in line when we arrived and the restaurant is not opened yet. We missed the first seating as It only have 11 seats in the restaurant with some are bar style seat. The wait time was about 45 to more than an hour. The best to line up before it opens. Once you are find a seat, you can order from the touch screen ordering The menu is simple , first you can choose hot or cold soba, and for tenzaru and tenkake set you choose either tempura or kaikage. There is also other lr soba choices. For small bites it has chicken tenders, braised pork, and and mochi for dessert. We ordered tenzaru and tenkske with shrimp kaikage. We also ordered kakesoba, chicken tender and mochi. Both cold and hot soba are unique and yummy. I like soba texture and yhe broth cold and hot are yummy. The kaikage is unique as it is a bit chewy. The chicken tender is ok. Mochi is yummy. Looks like one of the worker is the owner and he was friendly. Overall it was a good lunch. You have to be patient if you want to have a meal here. I was by myself and wanted to have a quick eat. This place has unique ramen so I decided to come again (also SF/bay area only in the US). Since I was alone, I got to skip the line and only waited 15 minutes. The ramen was great. I would love to come again and try new one. Their duck chashu is SO GOOD. We were a large group of 15, including several kids, and we completely understand that the restaurant is small and accommodating a group our size can be challenging. We waited in line for almost an hour with around 6 children. During the wait, a staff member named Sue came outside, asked how many people were in our group, and handed us menus. Since it was our first visit, we were naturally asking questions and trying to understand the menu. Unfortunately, throughout the interaction, her body language and expressions felt impatient and unwelcoming. There was visible frustration and eye-rolling, which made us feel uncomfortable rather than welcomed. Even after we were seated, the experience continued to feel tense. One of the toddlers in our group started crying briefly -- something fairly common with young children -- and we were told to "keep it low out of respect." While we absolutely respect other diners, the way it was communicated felt lacking in empathy, especially on a busy Mother's Day with families dining out. A small gesture of kindness or understanding could have gone a long way. Instead, my friend felt compelled to take the child outside, which was disappointing. Additionally, after being seated, we had to remind the staff multiple times to come take our orders. What makes this especially unfortunate is that the ramen itself was truly delicious and lived up to the hype. The food was excellent, which is why this experience was so disappointing overall. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customer service and hospitality matter just as much as the food experience. Unfortunately, this was not the ideal way to end our Mother's Day celebration.

I've been to plenty of Japanese/Ramen spots and I've been running into the issue where I say I have a soy allegry and there is an assumption that I have a gluten issue (I do not have a gluten issue). I noticed yelp said they have soy-free options and thus called on Friday thinking it might be a bad idea as they're usually busy.. It was defintely hard for the person to hear a bit when they picked up. The staff did relay something about gluten free noodles.. Anyways, they said they could swap out any of the soy soups for salt (but soy can encompass a lot of things so I still wasn't feeling super confident but we're going to give it a go). We go and I asked which 4 of the soups I was eyeballing don't have soy - the staff said they can accomodate and replace any of the soy soups with a salt broth. After we ordered, the staff came back and checked in to make sure that my partner also didn't have an allergy. And my dish came out, they told me there was no egg as its marinated in soy - perfect to me. I'm glad that was caught as not every establishments can account for everything. - Now I have a spot to (more safely) eat ramen! - I advise that if you do have an food allergy, do talk to the staff, and address your concerns such as cross contamination etc. I had a great experience, but I do find that because its not so regulated or understood and there is lack of education amongst the food/resturant industry - you always need to advocate for yourself and there is always a risk. I'm very apperciative of the staff here.

If you're not able to squeeze into the first wave, the wait is upwards of 2 hours! FOOD: We ordered one galbi jim with extra noodles and rice cakes and a separate garlic noodles for a party of 5. While we initially thought we could finish two galbi jims, our server cautioned us against it, referencing the healthy portion size. We were glad we took her advice because everyone was stuffed by the end of our meal. Their galbi jim was flavorful, with extremely tender beef and chewy rice cakes. We ordered the lowest level of spiciness and while there was still a kick, it was extremely manageable. SERVICE: We were the first to be seated and our galbi jim took almost 20 minutes to come out while others waited even longer. However, they comped our garlic noodles and apologized for turning waits. Once we got seated, they were pretty prompt to give us utensils, napkins, cups, and water. The two of us shared the Braise Beef Galbi Stew. It's more than enough for 2 people to go home in food comas (with some food remaining) and for 3 to be sufficiently full. If you have big eaters, order an app alongside if you have 3 people. The Galbi stew was exceptional. I liked that they had various levels of spiciness. We went with spicy and it had a nice kick that elevated the dish for me. The beef was very tender and flavorful and the veggies and rice cakes soaked up all the juices. And the cheese was so stretchy! I'd actually rank this place slightly above Daeho given the shorter wait, the quality, and the price. I'll be back for sure.
