Day of the appointment I reached out to let Jim know that I was running behind due to unexpected delays in my commute and was pleased to hear that he was ok with a late arrival. We agreed upon a pickup time, which I missed because of a unplanned meeting at my office, and he had another engagement to attend to, but he was courteous enough to let me know when he would arrive back at Sun Busters. During pick up we had a great conversation about older Hondas and he really knew his stuff! Jim to the rescue! Someone recommended Jim in a FB group once I got a new car and I knew immediately that I was going to need tint ASAP, I could not drive around without my car tinted! Jim responded promptly, he knew his stuff and gave me pricing right away along with his next available date. I booked for 03/17/25 @12PM. His shop is hidden, but not far from me! I opted for ceramic tint on my whole car and the front windshield. Jim called me around 3:30ish giving me heads up my car would be ready in 15 minutes and it was. He walked me through everything with the tint itself. I did darker in the back of the car and lighter in the front and the windshield. It was $560 for ceramic. I wanted ceramic this time compared to regular tint this time around because summer is brutal and so Onyx can stay cool LOL. I needed to get my rear windshield tint replaced. After 15 years, it became fuzzy to the point where I could barely see behind me. Sun Busters was very close to where I lived. With its good reviews, I gave it a try using Yelp's Pricing and Quote system, and Jim responded in a timely manner. I'm a socially anxious person, so I was a bit nervous in meeting him, but he is as friendly and as approachable as can be. Jim is the man! He's an old-school pro. Some years ago, he was recommended to me by the nearby Auto Center when I was buying a used rig from them. It is my understanding that he is their go-to guy. He's been tinting car windows for a couple decades, at least. My first experience with him was in the early 2010s. But, when I needed to tint TWO CARS recently, I looked through my old records (yes, I'm that guy... keeps records of everything) to make sure I went back to the Right Guy. Thing is... I still own that car he did for me 12 years ago. And the tint HONESTLY looks brand new. Not a bubble or a peel or a tear or any flaw whatsoever. I'm 100% convinced it will stay "brand new" until that car is in the ground. So I went back to Jim. He ran me through my options. He gave advice as I asked for it... what's the law?... what will I be okay with (regardless of letter of the law)?... what looks good?... what percentage of UV/heat does this particular film block?... etc., etc. Jim knows all of that and, I'm sure, much more. On top of that, he's reliable. He was on time for each appointment. Always smiling/cheery. Super nice, smart guy. But, most importantly, he's GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES and, as you should know, THAT MATTERS with window tinting. Go see Jim and let him BUST the SUN for you!! I recently just bought a new (used) car, which was a 2017 Subaru Impreza hatchback that had no tint at all. The windows were clearly visible and posed as a security issue as well as an unpleasant aesthetic, such as a fishbowl look. I knew that I needed to get that taken care of right away. I originally had my previous car tinted at a different place but I've seen moved away from there. But after calling up a ton of places around the Irvine-Tustin area, I found Sun Busters. Most places were closed the day I went, which was the day after Christmas, and other places were charging way more than I was willing to spend. I contacted Sun Busters and spoke to Jim Aschbrenner who took me literally 10 mins after our phone call. He quoted me $210 for tint on my front and rear windows for Solar Gard film tint, which did include the small panels. My previous vehicle was tinted around the same price at the other place I mentioned, so I didn't want to pay anymore than $200. For the quality and effort put into my current vehicle, he could easily enough charge more if he wanted to. His price was extremely fair and reasonable! Jim took care of my car and did everything all on his own in about 3 hours. It's a small business so I was glad that I was able to support him. If you have any window tinting needs, I promise you that you will not be disappointed. This will instantly make your car look better and have so much heat reduced from the brutal SoCal sun.
