If you want to pay a shop a ridiculous amount of money and still leave with the same problem, Sun Auto is your place! I paid $1,100 for Sun Auto to replace my Mass Airflow Sensor. The check engine light went off at first, but it came right back on the next day. When I brought it back, they told me I now need to go to Nissan for programming. Call me old school, but if I'm paying $1,100, I expect the problem to be solved, not passed on to someone else. It's disappointing to spend that much and still have to go elsewhere to finish the job. read more

Needed to have my rear brakes pads and rotors replaced. I called several local auto shops and all gave me similar quotes for the repair. I ended up having Sun Auto complete the work because they said it would only take a couple hours to complete. The other shops wanted to keep my car for at least a day. Worked with Ashley who was professional and prompt getting me the quote and work done. Took my car in at 11am and received a call at 1pm stating my car was ready for pick up. I wanted to leave this review because everything was done as they told me it would be. Quote given is what I paid and my car was finished in 2 hours as they said it would. Telling a customer what to expect and meeting that expectation is all I can ask for. Good Job! read more

Took our mostly new 2020 BMW in for an oil change on 8/4/2023 and they "claimed" that the previous dealership oil change messed up the bolt on the drip pan. Mind you, we had no leaks or engine oil warnings before we went in. They said the bolt was too tight and they could not turn it (total nonsense) so they turned us away. Today I pull the car out and there is oil all over my garage floor. After calling, they again "claimed' it was already leaking which is absurd because if it were leaking this badly the engine light would have come on probably within 48 hours and the last oil change was in 2022! EDIT: I went to another mechanic on 8/5/2023 and am attaching an image that they found my drain plug was stripped, which is what is causing the leak. Also they said at the rate it is leaking there would have been no oil left had this stripped bolt happened even a week ago, so no SUN Auto, my dealership did not cause this issue. Your techs stripped the bolt due to incompetence and negligent behavior! STAY FAR AWAY!!!! read more

We had a horrible experience and were totally disrespected by Chris. We took a car in for an oil change and they stripped the drain pan plug getting it out. They claimed it was done during the last oil changed. The entire oil pan had to be replaced. Chris quoted 812.00 and we ended up having it done at an honest and reputable mechanic for 535.00. A zero star rating would be too generous. read more

I'm disappointed to leave a one-star review because my initial experience seemed positive. The guys were so nice and accommodating... Essentially, I brought in my 2021 Highlander with a broken AC condenser and supplied the part myself with the understanding that they couldn't warrant the part should anything happen. It was replaced for about $1,300, and I went on my way. A few weeks later, an issue stemming from the same repair cost me another $1,000 because they "couldn't warrant the part." Now, only six months later, my AC is intermittently acting up. I take it to a Toyota dealership, and they inform me that my car was literally put together with ZIP TIES. This particular Sun Auto was the last repair shop to touch my car. The dealership said the part I supplied is "completely fine.... It's the craftsmanship that's causing [my] AC to work off-and-on because any bump or sudden movement will cause the parts held together by zip ties to not work how they're supposed to." These people worked on my girlfriends car and it was a nightmare. Six months later I'm finding issues due to their negligence. They replaced the turbo and didn't put the oil fill cap back on so she drove the car 50 miles until it started smoking and when she popped the hood there was oil everywhere but inside the engine. Then come to find out they also stripped the oil pan threads. Called to tell the manager and he immediately denied the claim and became hostile towards me. Not sure why they drained the oil on a turbo replacement but I'm also not an expert. But I know enough to know that the way they treated her when she brought the car back was unacceptable. Oh, they also took the title out of her car for whatever reason and when she called looking for it they couldn't find it until I called being fed up with the situation and they magically "found" it on someone's desk. This place is shady and the manager is extremely rude. Not sure if it's because we are women but he sure made it clear he has no intentions on giving us good customer service. If you read this far don't go to sun auto. You'll pay ten fold in the end. Zero stars. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The employees are nice but I had a horrible experience with them. I brought my vehicle a 2016 Kia Sorrento in to them and explained I had a knocking noise coming from my engine. They had a tech diagnose it as a leaking gasket or valve cover but told me that was the only issue and and there was no engine issues. I paid and them fix the issue explained to me and received the car back that day. I drove 10 miles and the knocking came back and was 10 times worse car completely stalls out. I had my 3 kids including a newborn and the vehicle nearly died on the freeway less then 10 miles from leaving the shop for a repair on the same day. The next day Sun's Auto tows the vehicle and the tow truck driver was unbelievably rude using foul language and being disrespectful when picking up the vehicle. Sun's look at the vehicle again and now they mention it could be other issues. His words were we can do diagnostic but we will have to charge you again and your better off taking to a KIA dealership to properly diagnose the issue. They never fixed the issue they might of fixed a issue but how does a auto service shop claim a vehicle is repaired and not even make it 10 miles from the shop they knock came right back and got 10 times worse. I had the dealership tow the vehicle from their shop. I trusted them to resolve my auto problems and ended up throwing money. The tech explanation was this just happens sometimes and I'm better off going back to KIA. I wish they would of told me that before I trusted them with the repair beforehand. read more

I arrived for only a simple oil change and by the time I left the establishment my vehicle was overheating. I immediately contacted the business owner and informed him of the overheating and that they may have forgotten to put coolant in my car when they took it out. He had approached me earlier during the service and said that the coolant was very cloudy and Toyota recommends flushing it after a certain number of mileage. I politely declined and told them I would notate it for the future. However, during my call about it overheating, the owner told me that it was possible that my vehicle had a leak and that I should bring it back to be inspected. This gesture made me very uncomfortable since I had no prior issues with my vehicle. In fact my upkeep is regular. Also I assumed that if they looked it over in the beginning they would've caught a leak and informed me of it during the change. So, instead I took it to another inspector who then informed me that my vehicle was perfectly fine and there was no leak. All I needed was the coolant to be re-added since it had been removed. Once that was taken care of my vehicle ceased to overheat. This oversight could have cost me thousands of dollars in damage that I could not afford to repair if I hadn't noticed the indicator overheating. read more
