I watched him give personal items away to guests, carry items up and down stairs for people and I don't know if he ever stops helping people. From what I can tell that is true. He was there every day I was this summer. I stayed 3 separate occasions this year for a total of 15 nights. Joe seems to be the only person working in the office open to close (7 days a week). What I will say is whoever owns the mainsail now should get this guy some help. He is strict but so was Diane and Chet who were the best owners. Rules are a great way to preserve the mainsail. Joe if you see this I hope your leg heals fast and thank you for all your help. I know you said to say staff if I left a review but you deserve some credit. You better be getting paid for all those hours you give to others for free, because you're missing out spending that time with your little daughter and family. Keep up the good work. I asked the front office if they could do a quick wash of the floor, but they never showed up. Don't make the mistake of walking barefoot on the floor with wet feet, and if you are wearing socks, the bottom of them will turn black quickly. The cold water knob in the shower was frozen shut, and it couldn't turn, only leaving the hot water knob usable, making the shower unusable onless you like scalding water. I asked the front desk if someone could look at it, but nobody showed up. Also, don't try sitting in their cheap plastic patio chairs outside the room, unless you have good health insurance. We drove through a narrow entryway into an area that was maybe five cars wide. I parked to the right most area and was greeted by a hostile voice, saying are you here to register? I said yes. She said move your car. There were probably three or four widths of cars to my left so that anybody coming into the place could have gotten through perfectly easily. And by three or four car widths I mean 30 or 40 feet . I absolutely could not think of any reason for this hostile greeting. My companion opined, probably accurately, that the person yelling at me wanted to establish power in our relationship. That continued with our trying to check in at 2:30 P.M. We were told that check in time was 3:00. There were apparently many available rooms and almost no cars in the area. The the only people around where people that seem to hang around there all the time. We had to leave and come back 30 minutes later. As I have been a carpenter, I noted some obvious deficiencies in the property. The most blatant of these is that there is apparently no accessibility to anyone with any limited walking ability let alone anyone in a wheelchair. Everything is absolutely blockaded to a wheelchair. And then there is a restaurant that seems to be part of the property. That is a confusing nightmare between whether it is a pizza place or something better. A flyer for a pizza place was in our room. but the resto there had a broad menu. The was a meal there was nice but... The back stairs to the place must have been designed and built by Helen Keller. It is an axiom, an absolute rule, that steps must be of equal hights. If they are not people always trip on one or more of them that are not equally spaced. Every carpenter knows this and every designer knows this. Helen Keller or whoever built those stairs didn't give a damn. No building inspector could look at them and not laugh before writing a violation notice.

We signed a 3 year lease spending the 1st year there mostly on weekends and occasional days during the week, once we made it our single home after selling our house over a year ago reality set in. A lot of people will think they want to live at their favorite vacation spot until you live with the reality of random people who can & will walk/run by your living room sliders just feet away from your so called privacy at all times of day and night, it is a motel... When we were 1st there the night sky was amazing until an enormous flag went up that needs enormous lights to illuminate it every night. Then once the property owner's primary home was reportedly (by him) auctioned off he moved his family into one of the homes, (the former renters of that unit had a year plus lease, apparently they bailed within a few months), shortly after that the ongoing state of construction seemed to increase. With the heavy equipment and contractors trucks / trailers coming and going we woke one morning this past spring to the back of my wife's SUV having the rear corner punched in, we surely could not confirm that it happened in the parking lot so the next day I put a web cam pointing out back..damage done but we at least tried to be more careful. Dogs are (seemingly) not allowed on the property but one day earlier this year his contractor's 70lb dog came bounding into our open door (I thought we couldn't have dogs in the home!!). We love dogs and the dog was a known frequent guest on the property while the newest building was going up. We dodged a bullet with the just announced boil water alert for the surrounding area due to E Coli found in the water just recently! The positive is that the ocean view is great though being on the wrong side of RT1A you become very familiar with just how loud motorcycles can be and even worse the new trend of extreme stereo systems on some bikes. Again, short stay vs long stay. We creatively "negotiated" our way out of the lease conveniently before the cold winter months started and we have the mutually agreed lease termination document to prove it (one of the landscapers told my wife that he was sorry to hear that we were evicted?? A family member of mine heard the same story from a mutual friend that has absolutely nothing to do with any party involved. Where did this defaming lie originate?) Any way we left wondering how we stayed in such cramped space as long as we did! We have returned to being home owners once again and live just miles from the old Crown Colony. For future vacations that are near $3k for a week my wife and I can stay all inclusive in the Caribbean resort with food/drink & airfare included!
