I told them we were on our honeymoon and coming into Hampton just to hang out at the seafood festival. They knew we were to set to arrive in town after noon and they had the heater on to warm up the place and a vase of roses to congratulate us on our marriage. Now this is not a five star resort by any means, but you can't dismiss the customer service and hospitality. We rented the studio, which was large, clean, and comfortable. My only complaint was the bed being uncomfortable. But otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much.

Just got back from a 4 day vacation here at Mail Sail on Hampton Beach. We never stayed here…read morebefore and are very happy we did! We were greeted by the sweetest dog and were up to our room within a few minutes. Our room was super spacious and very, VERY clean. The staff here is very helpful and just want you to enjoy your stay. They're not cleaning rooms due to Covid.. BUT, rest assure anything you need is just a phone call away. We got new towels and an extra blanket within minutes. The pool is super clean and lots of room. We're going to head back for another weekend if we can this Summer if not.. We're staying a week next year in a cottage!

My family has been coming to the mainsail for 25+ years. We took the last 2 years off and came back…read morethis year with the new ownership. We were disgusted in the conditions. We stayed in one of the cottages for a week.Completely filthy. Stick on earrings, hair, and hair ties in the pullout couch. The floors left feet/ socks black within seconds of walking around. Bathroom smelt and looked like a sani can. Despite the conditions we cleaned and we tried to carry on. The worst part was ERIKA at the front desk. ONE MISERABLE HUMAN who should not be involved in any sort of customer service. She should get a job where she doesn't have to interact with people. The second day went to the office to mention we have 7 guests and only received 4 towels. Her response was immediately defensive and said we only get one towel per person for the week. I said ok did not know that was one of the new rules so going forward we will each ONLY have one towel. But we only had 4. I said we are not trying to take your towels. She flipped out and tried to ask us to leave and then had the nerve to say "this is how you act in front of your kids?!" All I asked for was towels. Did not curse, did not raise my voice. I left the office and never returned the rest of the vacation. Spoke to the management company and sounds like she has been a problem. Yet still works there and represents the Mainsail. She was rude, disrespectful, and creeped us out when she mentioned she could "look at The cameras to see how many towels we had" Also there is a laminated cottage rules sign in the cottage that states you leave your soiled towels out on the deck and they will be replaced. It's very said how the conditions went so downhill and the front desk ERIKA was so horrible. After going to the mainsail as a kid and now brining my own kids there we now will never return. One last thing! We left to go to Maine for the day and she gave our parking spot away! Luckily our other family left early because of the conditions and we parked in their spot. Didn't dare enter the office again!

Flat screen tv and microwave/fridge/coffee pot in the room. They also give you a binder with info about the motel and local bars/restaurants/takeout flyers. The staff was friendly and laid back. You get a parking pass at no extra cost. My favorite part about this place- you literally can't get more beachfront than this. You walk out your sliding door and you're literally walking on the sand. You can hear the waves crashing at night. There's a small porch outside each room, and the rooms walk out into a "sand garden"- a fenced off area with a grill, fire pit, picnic tables and lounge chairs for use to all guests. The beach is beautiful- huge and big waves, clear water.. Not as packed and loud as Hampton beach. The location of Salisbury beach is a huge plus.... Drive 10mins north and you're in Hampton beach, NH. Drive 15 mins south and you're in the town of Newburyport, MA which is adorable--- historic whaling town with old brick sidewalks and buildings, with tons of shops/bars/restaurants/art/ice cream places. You can spend hours here. One minor drawback about the Shoreline Motel is that the walls seem thin- we didn't spend much time in the room but when we did we heard every move the people made above us. Def not a big deal but something to think about.

Must have been a drug party going on by the last occupant? The bed was made when I checked in, but how can housekeeping miss the drugs in the bedside table AND inside the bathroom?? Also, the dark, woodgrain laminate floor was disgustingly DIRTY! My guess is they just sweep only, and hardly if ever, actually wash the floor. I asked the front office if they could do a quick wash of the floor, but they never showed up. Don't make the mistake of walking barefoot on the floor with wet feet, and if you are wearing socks, the bottom of them will turn black quickly. The cold water knob in the shower was frozen shut, and it couldn't turn, only leaving the hot water knob usable, making the shower unusable onless you like scalding water. I asked the front desk if someone could look at it, but nobody showed up. Also, don't try sitting in their cheap plastic patio chairs outside the room, unless you have good health insurance. Rooms seem relatively clean but received a bottom floor street side room. The view consisted of a crashed Audi wagon with a flat tire. WIFI stopped working after the first night and never came back despite reporting the issue on that morning. It's not a place you want to hang around in, especially with no entertainment and no views. Clean bed, clean shower, expect nothing more.

The lobby has beautiful decor and the view over the cliff is fantastic. Every floor has a Maine Station- which includes a coffee station, 3 water options, and some fruit. Our room was spectacular and had a view over the cliff. It was not warm outside so unfortunately we weren't able to use the outside pools. For what I could tell there are 2 outdoor pools, one indoor pool and a larger hot tub. There seems to be a lot of weddings there. I believe like 3-4 a weekend. The grounds were very well cared for and there were different activities throughout the day you could participate in. The location is a little remote which is nice, but hard to explore being that it was our first time in Maine. The food was pretty good for the most part. We liked the food better at The Tiller than Nubb's. The drinks are really tasty, but can get spendy. We overall really enjoyed our visit and stay at Cliff House. Rating would be 4.25
