We are staying at Janmere motel. We have stayed here over the years. Our room wasn't cleaned when we got here which is fine, but when they were done we couldn't stay in the room because the cleaning products they used were so strong. We are sitting outside the room and left the door open to air it out and the smell is coming outside the room. It is awful. Its fine other than that. We can't switch rooms because they are booked. read more

When I started to unpack in the room, I found 4-5 opened packages of cannabis gummies in the bedside table drawer, and drug paraphernalia all over the bathroom. Must have been a drug party going on by the last occupant? The bed was made when I checked in, but how can housekeeping miss the drugs in the bedside table AND inside the bathroom?? Also, the dark, woodgrain laminate floor was disgustingly DIRTY! My guess is they just sweep only, and hardly if ever, actually wash the floor. I asked the front office if they could do a quick wash of the floor, but they never showed up. Don't make the mistake of walking barefoot on the floor with wet feet, and if you are wearing socks, the bottom of them will turn black quickly. The cold water knob in the shower was frozen shut, and it couldn't turn, only leaving the hot water knob usable, making the shower unusable onless you like scalding water. I asked the front desk if someone could look at it, but nobody showed up. Also, don't try sitting in their cheap plastic patio chairs outside the room, unless you have good health insurance. Let me start off by saying that the pictures of these rooms are misleading. For what we paid for the room, I expected a whole lot more. We checked in and be prepared to give them your car information so they can give you a tag so your car won't get towed. If I understood properly, they don't have an attendant 24 hours as we were told that we needed to be there by 10pm. With that said when we arrived we were given keys (yes, an actual key not a card) and had the hardest time trying to get into the room. Once we got in the room, it was small and I can't really say that the room had been cleaned well before us as I kept seeing things that needed cleaning. The towels were sitting on the night stand, which is odd but after seeing the size of the bathroom, I understood. Why there was only 3 pillows on the bed, I'm not sure of and the fridge smelled bad that i refused to put my items in there. I asked about ice - which at any other hotel is usually accessible for free, however I was told that it a $2 donation for a small bag. I did ask about local places to eat and sadly I wasn't given much to work with - thank goodness for Yelp to the rescue. The location is near the beach and there is a pool but besides that, I can't say much else. The kicker of the evening was having 3 police cars pull up and the cops arresting the man in the room next door to us and then hearing his girlfriend yelling and screaming about "why is he being arrested?" and "do y'all really have to take him" - in the morning - before 6am - there were folks yelling in the parking lot. I recently stayed here, and was not impressed, like at all! First off, this place was very grimy and un-clean, which left me and the rest of my group very un-happy. When we first walked in we thought that it wasn't too shabby, but then we saw the un-swept floors, the bathroom floor was like yellow and brown from the grime. Oh wait did I forget to mention that aspect soon as we took out shoes off and took like 2 singular steps our feet were pitch black, covered in dirt! The beds were okay, but I just felt the grime on my feet from the floors. The whole room just didn't feel cozy and felt dirty. Next, the environment was awful. I was all the way down, in the back (bottom level) of the motel. There were 3 crappy chairs, which one of them had like ash dust from cigarettes on it. And the gorgeous view of, cars parked all weird, a huge, huge uhaul load, like the uhaul trucks, a truck without wheels, just the bin. And right next to it, was a dead bird. Which was there when I walked into my room for the 1st time, and when I walked out of my room for the last time. From start to finish of my vacation the dead bird was just there. And then it blew a couple feet away cause of some rain. Like are you kidding me???? Not one employee could pick it up?! What a view, for spending alot of money! You could tell me, that I woke up in a junk yard, and I'd believe it tbh! We defidently got placed in the crappier end of out motel, the end near the office looked nicer. So, even after you finish reading this review, and if you still want to stay here, remember request the section near the office. The cleaning crew wasn't great, one day I got back from the beach, and my motel room door was OPEN! We were freaking out because, before we left we triple checked the lock, when we opened the door there was nobody in the room. So, it was pretty scary. Then, a cleaner came down and said that she left it opened, and wanted to ask us if we wanted our beds made. Ofcourse we wanted our beds made! Then, she said she'd be right back, but she never came back, until one of the people that I was staying with chased her down to say something. The cleaner handed her the towels and had her carry them back to the room herself, we still wanted our beds made, the bathroom cleaned, etc. Then, later 2 other cleaners came by, while 1 of my roommate was showering, they offered to clean, which was nice, but we didnt want them to wait until the person was done showering, so we said that it was fine, it was our last night anyways. Finally, the pool was okay, the parking lot was tricky and jammed, the ice was convenient, and lastly to sum it all up it was pretty dirty and grimy. awful AC filter was so dirty. I was probably breathing in so much mold the floors were dirty. They left a dirty mop in my room. The bathroom had mold the tubs were gross. They left the water running in the tub or just wouldn't shut off kids smoking pot underage drinking on property, I would give this hotel if I could hang outside your door all night the windows aren't even windows that close for a lil quiet forget it if you want quiet don't come here. Booked though hotels.com and I was specific about the room I wanted and even called to confirm that we were all set. I got there and I sent to a disgusting room. I walked in it was 100º. I immediately ran to the A/C. I never saw so much mold on the A/C. I didn't want to take the front off because I was afraid to see what the filter looked like. I asked for extra pillow, nope. I did get enough towels to start my own car wash though. Bottom line I left about 4 hours after I checked in. I DO NOT recommend this place. Just another FYI I stayed off peak. I have been going to Janmere Motel in Hampton Beach for years with my daughters. Nothing fancy but clean. NOT This year!! The floor was filthy and had dirt all over the floor. Had not been swept, vacuumed or washed. I had brand new socks on and they were filthy after two days of walking on the dirty floor! The air conditioner didn't work the first night, It was so hot in the room. Then we found out the next day that it was in a closed trash shed. That is why the room smelt like trash! It was so hot but we couldn't sit outside cause it smelt like sewer. We talked to the girl in the office about the air and the smell. She told us the smell was the marsh and she would bring us some fans. It was 100 degrees the two days we were there. My daughter talked to the manager and he walked away. I called him and he laughed at me. It was $800.00 for two days of hell!! We will never stay again! I called the manager and asked to have the owner call me and they didn't so I will be reporting it to the Dept. of Health of NH. It was very unsanitary with whatever was coming through the air conditioner. read more

We came to Hampton this weekend and usually stay at a different hotel. With the hotel being sold old we found this motel had vacancies. Not really being one to stay at a motel, we found this a pleasant surprise. The room we had was very spacious, with a super comfortable bed. Although it is quite old and it definitely shows in the furniture, everything else was great. Super duper clean on the inside and outside. Close to the beach so no need to worry about parking. Although it wasn't really hot enough to swim the pool was also spotless. We will be back! read more

We have visited Hampton Beach yearly for over a decade This was our first time staying at The Janmere but it won't be our last. Small and outdated but clean and welcoming, this hotel is what it is. The staff, Daniel and Jamal, we're pleasant and accommodating and answered all my questions with a smile. The grounds and walkways were clean and well kept. The pool was fantastic. We've stayed at some sketchy joints on the strip in the past but this is NOT one of them. Thanks Janmere. See ya next July!!! read more

The only things I liked about this Motel was the pool and the nice lady in the office. Other than that, don't waste your money. There's very strange lighting in the room, the blankets were not as clean as I would like them to be, the tv only got like 5 channels, the shower barely worked; I had to shut it off and back on a few times every shower, and I only take like 10 minute showers. Also, the AC was super loud, so loud that I couldn't even sleep but I had to keep it on so I didn't sweat to death. Lots of bugs, no microwave, shitty mini fridge. Don't go here! You will regret it. I booked 2 months in advance for my vacation and booked a partial ocean view room with 2 queen beds as there were 4 of us going. When I booked I wrote in the special accommodations to have extra pillows. I arrived for check in and was charged 20.00 a day for a extra vehicle for parking, went up into the room to find only 2 pillows per bed and to find the TV not working. No phones in room, no microwave, a fridge that didnt keep even coffee creamer cold. Went to climb into bed that evening to find the sheets were never changed and there was sand and food in the bed. The beds are actually full size beds with queen bedding on them, they have the mattresses in protectors so for anyone who wants to know that they are paying for a queen bed but actually sharing a full bed just take the protector off and the tag is on the mattress. I questioned why I was paying for queen beds and sleeping in full beds and they said well you are getting queen bedding and it's big on the bed. 1st clue if the bedding is big for the bed they are full beds. No hot water at all, no shower pressure, curtains in bathroom were hung inside out because there were stains on them. The view from the bathroom window is disgusting. The pool area was not cleaned overnight and trash was left everywhere along with the whole bottom of the pool was sand. Do not stay at this hotel. I have called and left many messages regarding my stay and no response back. I left a night early because we had no hot water, no TV and full size beds with street and parking lot view. Neighbors drunk and fighting all night. I would never recommend this place for a stay at Hampton beach. The beach is cleaner then this. I had contacted manager "rob" after my stay and he said he would reimburse us for our stay a small amount which I was grateful because this place is a dump for the amount of money. When I contacted him he told me he wasn't going to reimburse because I left a honest review of this establishment. After research and many other people's reviews they are not even accredited with BBB. SMH the people and place is a dump don't spend your money. I'm sure people want to shower after swimming all day. This was our first visit to Hampton Beach. The check-in person at the hotel was polite but did not know anything about early morning breakfast places which was a disappointment. We found the room clean enough, but the lighting was limited and switches were hard to find. That there was no maid service included in the room​ rate was a surprise. In addition, near the office is a very dark outdoor hallway with a step at the end in the darkest spot. I missed the step, twisted my ankle and scraped my knee. All I got from the manager was a verbal apology. Be careful of the hallway and know that there is no maid service. The wifi password did not work either. read more

Stayed here for seafoodfest. When I arrived on Friday the television wasn't working. After a few minutes I asked for help. The first to arrive couldn't fix it and when the owner came in to take a look told me I was S**T out of luck and I shouldn't have pressed buttons. The television ended up being faulty. After 20 years of frequenting this beautiful motel, my mom and dad convinced me to go give it a try. Me and my boyfriend spent the 4th of July weekend there and we had a BLAST! The motel staff were friendly, happy and very helpful. The rooms are IMMACULATE! The common grounds, IMMACULATE. The pool, IMMACULATE. They are cleaning often and literally sweeping the sands out of the lot frequently. I enjoyed my stay and would never stay elsewhere when visiting Hampton. read more
