I had to wait till 3pm to get my deposit witch was 400 they charged me for that stuff said 200 for it all really doesn't cost that much that on them I told them I had mold months before I left to a worker my door was unable to lock for 3 months I was there for 9 months know one should stay here I have 2 kids mothers sick now cuz the mold read more

The room was dark and dingy. The refrigerator was plugged it with an extension cord across the room. The shower had a used bar of soap in it. Toilet was gross not cleaned. Used towels on rack. In addition to the hotel room charge they charge an additional $20 hotel fee for what I don't know. Emailed them was told too bad read the fine print. Very rude would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. There was a long hair in the microwave. Air conditioner didn't work very well. The room had mold on the ceiling , pool so tiny and a lot sand under the pool , no telephone in the room to call room service or complaint about the noise upstairs room making all day all night long . My husband had to walk to lobby at 11:35pm looking for owner/ manager or at least room server....on one there . Our both kids couldn't sleep with noise upstairs they made : kids running back and forth , furniture keep moving from place to place . It's been 2 nights straight like that , next morning my husband come to lobby and talk to one of the girl at the front desk but nothing chance , second time he come back down there and tell them it's getting worse . Same thing she respond to us "okie okie , I'll talk to them" and someone else next to their room said the same noise they here , so annoying and loud . I only gave two stars because it was relatively quiet and very close to the strip and beach. Otherwise it would be 0. When we got there the pool was so dirty you could not see through it at all, they said they had to filter it but just never did. Then our room had a absolutely disgusting pullout with no sheets and they only gave us one thin blanket and two couch pillows. As for the bathroom we were supposed to have a jacuzzi tub but there was not and there was a hole in the wall. The pullout mattress was stained and maybe infested with bed bugs. When we left we had bites all over and are treating our stuff. And let's not forget the smoke alarm beeping every 10 seconds all day and night for 2 days straight and nobody wanted to help us with it. Do Not Go Here in any sort of off season Month. That's for sure. Definitely Hope It's better in the summer. I was just hoping for a quiet, inexpensive get away for my girlfriend and I. I found the Ship's inn online and my girlfriend had said she had stayed their with family and always had an amazing experience. However, this weekend was the complete opposite. We checked in approximately 3 PM, got changed, and headed out for a bit. Upon return to the hotel, we were just hoping to a have a glass of wine and watch a movie, just us. We were unable to do any of this easily. It started out with me asking my girlfriend to go grab some ice from the ice machine. The ice machine was conveniently off, as we called the front desk and the worker informed us, it was off for the season, even though it was May. He gave us no alternative so we left the hotel to get ice from a local convenient store. This was frustrating, but we could recover from this. When we got back to the hotel after finding ice, the TV did not work. We followed all instructions properly but the cable did not work. We tried Netflix and could then get no audio and the cord on the TV continued to come loose from the wall. We ended up watching Netflix on one of our phones, as we got no answer from the front desk, and were beyond frustrated. All we heard all night was the room next to us, which I could have gone without. We woke up to smoke (marijuana) in the hotel hallway. As I went to inform the front desk, upon check-out, all I got was a locked front office and a drop off box. read more

I will never stay here again. There was barely any furniture in the room. No coffee table. Two chairs at the kitchen table for a room for 4 people. No night stands so if I need anything I had to get up. What did they think, I was going to put my stuff on the floor. Rusty vents, loud window ac units, and no hair dryer. The pictures the website provides are not the same as what you get. They don't enforce any rules. The people next door played music so loud all day till early morning. Plus making so much noise. This place is a mess! I was there like a decade ago and while it was in need of an update, it was livable. NEVER AGAIN!!! I did not realize this was the new party place in town. There was music blaring all day until at least 3am, drunk and obnoxious people just screaming at eachother, trash everywhere and staff doesn't care. Definitely can't sit out on your patio to eat with your kids because you can't hear anything else. Our room was dated but now seems to be falling apart. The bathroom had mold between the tub surround and the ceiling (which was crumbling), the carpets look sooooo dirty, and the furniture is falling apart. Literally the only positive is the fridge is newer, the only tv in the living room is a decent size, and the beds were somewhat comfortable. I definitely will not be back. read more

It is run down. Smelly. No change of linens or towels in a 4 day visit wit 6 adults and 1 child. Extremely noisy with partiers until 4 a.m. No employees on premise after 9:30 so no recourse. I want to start by saying the front desk gentleman who checked us in this weekend were so kind and welcoming!!! The customer service and genuine caring the expressed was amazing. The hotel is under new owners and they have made a ton of work on the place. Brand new bed and bedding in our room. Big fluffy pillows. Brand new wooden flooring. Room was very clean. Pools were both clean. Bbq area was nicely decorated with lots of planted flowers. They are doing a great job updating the place and it will only get better with time. For the price you pay off season (the only time i have stayed here), the room is great! If you want a one night getaway with a nice Jacuzzi suite, a comfy bed and a porch, this is the place to go. Is it super fancy? NO. For $100 for the night, I enjoy it in the winter as a fun romantic getaway place. The rooms have always been clean when i have stayed, the staff is very nice and flexible. Its nice and quiet which i like, the tubs have always been clean and in working condition and the beds are very comfy. I like the cable selection although a bigger flat screen would definitely be worth the investment for them. Overall, Ill continue to go off season and I would like to try it in season as they have an outdoor pool. I wish they had a restaurant or bar on site also. read more

The pictures online where absolutely beautiful and then I got here after booking it and I thought my room was a joke. Stains on the pillows and pillow cases. Hair in the shower and on the walls. These people don't know how to clean. Took my son to the pool for some fresh air and the pool was so disgusting, nasty stuff was floating you could see the top layer of the pool but not the bottom. The cleaning staff in this hotel are voyeurs. We stayed and caught them filming us from around the next vacant room balcony. We spoke with management and no action was taken, no one seemed to care, so the authorities were notified. This is our 3rd year staying here. We always rent the jacuzzi room and we come for our wedding anniversary. For the price we pay ($114), you wouldn't find another hotel with a jacuzzi tub. No it's not the most up to date, but it's clean. I always check the bed at any hotel we stay at, never had any issues with bugs. The tub is always clean, & I'll tell you I've stayed at 5 star hotels and found hair in the shower. Close to the strip, beds not the worst I've slept in. We will be back again next year! read more

In all honesty, we were a little nervous about staying at this place. After looking at the reviews and understanding we were going during the "off season" we had very very low expectations. To our surprise, it was perfect. The rooms were a little worn, but the beds were clean, the bathrooms were clean, and the location was great. Mixed reviews so I spun the wheel on this one and frankly will not be staying here again and don't think you should either. Some of the rooms seem to be upgraded some of the rooms appear brand new, even when walking by them. But many of them haven't been touched in 40 years. The decks are rotting and bend when you walk, covered in moss. Walls are stained and the floors make your feet dirty when walking on them. No chance I even dare to enter the pool. My room was under a stairway, damp, dark, and stained with who knows what on the mattress. Called desk and was told maintenance would look at it. They did, and covered it up with another style mattress pad. Asked to be moved, had to press hard to get a new room from the desk clerk, still haven't heard from management. You can't beat the location to everything. Yes, things were a little run down but it nothing I cared about. The room was clean the staff accommodated us if we needed anything. And to me that's more important than chipped paint or a rusty ac that others complained about. I plan on coming back next year too. It was my first time at this hotel, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The front desk clerks had recommended to us a room in the top floor of the windsurfer building because of its easy access to the sundeck. The room was comfortable and very tidy, and the view from the sundeck was great. The front desk was very accommodating with our requests and questions, and even recommended to us a few local restaurants in the area. The best part is that the hotel is within walking distance to all of the big attractions in Hampton Beach, so you hardly need to drive your car. For the location and price, this hotel can't be beat. read more

Stayed at ship's inn from Saturday the 30th-Tuesday the 3rd. Have been coming to this place for 15 years. Used to be a fabulous place to stay. But something has changed. This year our 2 bedroom suite was anything but sweet!!! And the main pool was cloudy and dirty the entire time we were there. Brken boards all over the decks creating trip hazards and when we complained thier solution was to put up caution tape not nail down the board. They are obviously not maintaining the property. Large groups of people were allowed to bring full meals into the pool area where 12-15 people would eat and then left trash and garbage strewn all about the pool. Worst part was.....one carload of these people were not even guests of the hotel. They just pulled up and parked next to the pool, unpacked, stayed the day and then left. Several parents allowed thier children to squirt adults, run into others and one child was literally drowning his brother and none intervened UNTIL we yelled...hey he is drowning!!! So Scary!!! Rooms are dirty....I mean dirty. We basically had to clean everything before we could feel comfortable even using the bathroom or kitchen. Our cable went out the second night and noone on property was available to change the box and told us maybe tomorrow they could fix it. They NEVER came back!!! This is the worst motel I've ever stayed at. We chose it for an off-season place because it was one of the few places open that was close to the concert arena (Casino Ballroom). The room was old and dirty: stained carpet, holes in walls, etc. The hallway leading to the room was even worse. The room was poorly equipped; there weren't any hangers and, as noted in another review, there wasn't even a phone in the room to call the desk with questions or complaints. The walls were paper thin - we could hear the people and the TV from the next room clearly. Wifi was minimal and only offered when specifically requested. The worst part was that the maids didn't even attempt to clean the room after the first (of two) nights. When we asked about it the clerk shrugged and offered us towels. DO NOT STAY HERE. We had one of the Jacuzzi rooms, had to walk a ways from the office. Its a maze to get any where. No secure doors entering the stairways uptstairs to rooms, which were very dirty!Its like walking through a time warp, old carpeting, wallpaper and dirty smell. Then go to our room notice at first opening the door smelled stale smoke(non smoking room),small patio which had ash tray that hadn't been emptied and door being left open is most likely what happens. No towels, looked outside the room and there is a pile laying on a table. We grabbed them thinking we don't want to be without towels. Cold in room tried to figure out how to use the ac/heater which was covered in mold and filter was thick with dust! It gets better, the mirror up over the Jacuzzi hadn't been cleaned all splash marks. There was mold and dirt all over parts of the bathroom. Shower head was ready to snap off and pressure was very low. Turned on lamp next to bed, didn't work and plug was behind bed. Light over bed when on was flickering so that wasn't a good sign. One little light on table about 40 watt., so reading that night! There was no booklet that we have found in every motel that we have stayed showing places to eat, most time with menu's NOPE. At that time of the year limited opening of places.Tried WI FI, which didn't work very frustrating. We were told that bagel place down on B Street for breakfast, NO closed on Monday. We packed up and left to find something to eat and to make sure we were not in that room any longer. They need to clean the place up inside and out. The hotel room we got was absolutely FILTHY. From the moment we walked in, the room wreaked of cigarettes. The paint is chipping off the walls, mold all through the bathroom and we had such trouble with allergies. We checked the a/c filter and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The part that really through me on edge was when i couldn't even let my 1 year old walk or crawl on the floor. He crawled across the rug and he was black! The amount of dirt on rugs were astonishing. I honestly don't see how the rugs could have been cleaned at all this year. It was totally unacceptable. The pools are advertised as heated which they are not. The hotel advertises having grills which, it did not. I can forgive the grills because it might be a covid thing, I'm really not sure. The hotel also advertises a kitchenette in room. Unless you count a mini fridge and microwave as a "kitchenette" I think you will find the rooms to also be lacking that feature. However, we did get to see a massive fight in the hall which led to a police chase out of the hotel! That was exciting . Also, if you like music keeping you up to 4am, this is the hotel for you! The staff seems to like it since they do nothing about it. 0/10 would not recommend. The 2 stars is based off of location alone which was wonderful. read more

After staying at Ships Inn three years in a row, we have decided to never go back to this crappy run-down hotel. The past two years we stayed in the same room and it was livable but less than desirable. This year we decided to splurge on a supposedly better room, but upon arriving we realized that this room was in even WORSE shape than the other. There were plenty of things that made our stay extremely uncomfortable, but the highlights are the broken shower, destroyed pull out bed, and the unexpected creatures inhabiting the area. First and foremost, our shower was not working and we couldn't figure out how to fix it, after getting 3 staff members and 1 maintenance worker to look at it, the shower was still impossible to operate. On top of that, the pull out mattress, which was a huge selling factor of this room to my family, was absolutely destroyed. The sheets and mattress were disgustingly gross, and the mattress itself was torn with bits of the springs sticking out. Luckily, we brought an air mattress and didn't have to use the pull out bed. The last thing that REALLY ruined our stay was the family of skunks living under our room's porch. There was a visible burrowing hole in the space underneath our porch, and the staff was aware of the animal's presence. They advised guests to "make a lot of noise" when walking by that area to scare the skunks away. I have a feeling that these animals would create a problem between Ships Inn and the Board of Health. The only plus to this hotel is it's location, hence the one star. Next year when we return to Hampton Beach we are definitely shopping around more for hotels, because we do not want to stay in this nasty inn again. read more

Ships inn has its ups and downs(pros and cons). The location is great, A st.. There is wifi but it is broken so don't count on the wifi. The room I was in apparently, I didn't know, had a big flood a week ago. So the carpet was really damp. The room we were in the tv didn't work. The maintenance crew couldn't fix it so I did, but it still wasn't showing cable tv. After days of telling them they finally fixed it but it only showed tv in black and white. The bed sheets were dirty, there were cobwebs in my room, and the drawers were broken. Lastly the heated pool is dirty, and if you look under water with goggles on you cant see anything because it is to murky. Overall it wasn't worth the money there were asking for. I suggest if you don't like it the first day move out into another one as fast as possible. read more
