Least welcoming place I've ever encountered. The place is generally decent. However it has serious…read moreflaws. The first of these was the hostile reception upon entering the place. We drove through a narrow entryway into an area that was maybe five cars wide. I parked to the right most area and was greeted by a hostile voice, saying are you here to register? I said yes. She said move your car. There were probably three or four widths of cars to my left so that anybody coming into the place could have gotten through perfectly easily. And by three or four car widths I mean 30 or 40 feet . I absolutely could not think of any reason for this hostile greeting. My companion opined, probably accurately, that the person yelling at me wanted to establish power in our relationship. That continued with our trying to check in at 2:30 P.M. We were told that check in time was 3:00. There were apparently many available rooms and almost no cars in the area. The the only people around where people that seem to hang around there all the time. We had to leave and come back 30 minutes later. As I have been a carpenter, I noted some obvious deficiencies in the property. The most blatant of these is that there is apparently no accessibility to anyone with any limited walking ability let alone anyone in a wheelchair. Everything is absolutely blockaded to a wheelchair. And then there is a restaurant that seems to be part of the property. That is a confusing nightmare between whether it is a pizza place or something better. A flyer for a pizza place was in our room. but the resto there had a broad menu. The was a meal there was nice but... The back stairs to the place must have been designed and built by Helen Keller. It is an axiom, an absolute rule, that steps must be of equal hights. If they are not people always trip on one or more of them that are not equally spaced. Every carpenter knows this and every designer knows this. Helen Keller or whoever built those stairs didn't give a damn. No building inspector could look at them and not laugh before writing a violation notice.

I asked the front office if they could do a quick wash of the floor, but they never showed up. Don't make the mistake of walking barefoot on the floor with wet feet, and if you are wearing socks, the bottom of them will turn black quickly. The cold water knob in the shower was frozen shut, and it couldn't turn, only leaving the hot water knob usable, making the shower unusable onless you like scalding water. I asked the front desk if someone could look at it, but nobody showed up. Also, don't try sitting in their cheap plastic patio chairs outside the room, unless you have good health insurance. Various lodging options (we get a suite in the Sea Rose suites) including rooms, cottages, a 2 family house, and suites, you are sure to be happy as they are all clean and comfortable. The staff is attentive to any and all needs and always with a smile!. I came back every year because of how kind and friendly the owner Cedar was to me my first summer. Every year I come back she remembers me and Stella! The hotel room was clean, it is a nice place to stay, and the location is great.

We, as long as others, were doing laps around the main lot and the mini lot for the Harbor Hill Inn trying to find a spot. We ended up having to park on the street because there were not enough spots at Harbor Hill. When checking in, we were told there are enough spots for each room, yet the lot for our Inn was completely full. We were also told that if we found a spot, we shouldn't move the car. We wanted to explore the area more, so we did have to leave, it is odd to me that an Inn doesn't have a better parking situation for Inn patrons. We thought it would be fun to go to the pub for apps and a drink before our dinner reservation at the main restaurant. Unfortunately, we were met with an hour long wait for 2 at the pub. I do find it interesting when an Inn doesn't open up reservations or spots for their own guests to dine, rather than locals. When we did go to our dinner reservation, we had a nice time. Our waiter was helpful. When the food came, they brought out a wrong dish. The boy that brought it out told us he wished we said something before he put it on the table because now the dish couldn't be used. We weren't able to tell it wasn't the right dish until it was in front of us.... we then waiting 15 minutes for the right food to come out. Our waiter had them remake my meal as well since it got cold, which was nice. The food was great once we finally had it. They also comped 50% of the wrong dish which was also nice. After dinner we had drinks and headed back to our room to go to bed. A phone call woke us up. It was the front desk; they told us that "Someone came into the lobby furious that our room is being so loud. They said that last night, this morning and this evening we have been ridiculously loud." I told the person on the other line that we have been asleep in bed, and we only checked in this evening. I find it curious that the front desk wouldn't look who was in the room and if we had even been there the day prior. Then, instead of offering an apology, they said "well do you hear any noise?" I said earlier the room next to us was making some noise but nothing like they are describing. They then said, "well which side, right or left?" I said I do not know I need to go back to bed. Pretty unbelievable, and something that hasn't even happened to me at a cheap hotel. I wish I walked away feeling better about our stay, but it is in a beautiful location...
