    My big vegan breakfast
    Pam G.

We drove 40 minutes to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed! Upon entering, the staff were friendly and the environment bright and inviting. I have multiple food allergies including one to dairy. It's difficult to find good food to eat out. Fortunately they have a vegan option...the big vegan breakfast. The rest of our party eat meat. The food was very good for all of us and the portions large.

This is truly a hidden gem that I hope more people find out about. Ms. Lo was our waitress and she was truly the mother I didn't know I needed. She was super sweet and attentive and wanted to ensure we enjoyed our food. I enjoy a waitress that is patience and explained all the dishes in detail. Now to the food! Let's just stay we left STUFFED because the food was too good and we didn't want to leave any behind! The portion sizes were just right! True southern food with amazing seasoning. I promised I tried to get the recipe for the mixed greens on my way out . We tried the seafood beggars to start filled with crab & shrimp that was super fresh and flavorful. 3 was just enough to prepare us for the main dish. The big breakfast was big and came with a drink!! Most places don't serve drinks without an additional charge but this homemade drink was the perfect addition I needed. The sides were seasoned perfectly with a creole touch, not spicy at all. The shrimp and grits were very light but rich. Usually with grits, they are typically grainy but this wasn't the case. I can't wait to come back and eat the food!

I called in my order at 8:18 a.m. I was told it's a 20 min wait for chicken waffles and a fruit bowl. It's currently 8:50 my food just arrived. I'm also the only customer in here. Food arrived looking and smelling great, not sure if I'll return because of the long wait.

So to bring in the New Year my husband and I decided to take a friend's recommendation and head to SFB for brunch. It was a group of four of us and the restaurant was practically empty. Upon arriving the hostess/ waiter mentioned she could not seat us until our party arrived. Our party was literally in the car. Customer service was not great to say the least. Food wasn't bad. Ambience: it's a very small restaurant. We saw most people ordering take out. Not really "that restaurant" that you would typically sit down and dine in. We waited at least 45 mins for our food. I ordered catfish over grits with a side of potatoes, my husband ordered the peach cobbler specialty chicken and waffles. The couple with us ordered sweet potato waffle and the Vegan Big Breakfast. I also ordered a peach Palmer to drink which was good. Let me say: the collard green egg rolls were not as good as the comments raves about. My husband enjoyed his peach waffle but his chicken under seasoned, I enjoyed the catfish and grits and the other couple enjoyed their food. Probably wouldn't go back but it wasn't bad.

Can I just say I just want to come back here soon! They were rocking a playlist seems like from my own Spotify list, clean and cute restaurant. Our server was so friendly and polite. The chicken was perfectly fried and juicy, and the eggs were perfectly moist just how I like my scrambled eggs. The pepperjack grits were some of the best I've had, and the pork sausage had the perfect consistency (not dry). I saved my waffle for last which I regret, and it was delicious! The fruity pebbles were not stale and if I didn't eat everything else, I surely would have finished this. It felt so welcoming here and I can tell it's a family-operated type of business - they really cared about the customer experience. Thank you SFB team!

Large portions, service was very attentive as well. Super cute hole in the wall restaurant in Clayton County area. There is a parking lot that is a plus. I ordered breakfast with friends. The pancakes is where I took a star. The pancakes just did not taste fresh for me and the cook either did not know how to cook turkey bacon or didn't cook it. I would however, try this restaurant again. I would just try something different on the menu.

Special event catering. Fried Catfish, green beans, salad, cornbread, mac'n'cheese and collards egg rolls.

The best soul food meals are prepared in small batches and made to order. Each of these dishes are delicious, well-seasoned and absolutely authentic. Tastes like coming home.

Prices are high for a restaurant you get coffee served in a to go cup and you have to purchase water.

I ordered a classic breakfast--crispy bacon, well-seasoned sausage patties, eggs cooked just right, and a fresh fruit bowl that actually felt fresh. Not an afterthought. A moment. The coffee? Hot, strong, and served in that cozy mug that makes you slow down and stay a little longer. And let's talk about the space--bright, cheerful, clean, and welcoming. The wall art alone tells you this place understands joy before noon. Service was easy, friendly, and efficient without rushing the vibe. This is the kind of spot you come to reset your day, not just eat. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I bring someone? Yes--but solo is elite. When the server brought the device to pay by credit card, there were the buttons to press for suggested tip amount, but the minimum amount was $7 and increased from there. The starting suggested tip being $7 on a $16 bill seemed deliberate in hoping I would just press one of the buttons. I of course, entered a custom tip of an appropriate amount.

Initial impression: Skeptical but hopeful Warm environment Friendly people Not packed but good amount of patrons Safety measures in place. As we were walking in another couple was coming out and they had two to go containers with them. That's always a good thing because people who like what they eat take what they can't finish. We took a moment to review the menu they have a lot of good selections. Yes you could probably find a good majority of it at IHOP but we figured let's see how the chef does. Our order: *Country fried steak with white gravy soft scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns and English muffins *Pork chop breakfast, soft scrambled eggs with cheese hash browns and English muffin. *French toast. *coffee *regular water and lime *orange juice. It's always a risk when you're ordering pork chops because sometimes in restaurants they overcook it and it tends to be dry or they don't select the best cuts of pork chop and it's too thin and is dry. I was really impressed at how well the pork chop was cooked it was tender, moist, seasoned very well, hot and paired with The soft scrambled eggs and cheese nicely. The hashbrowns were not great but they were good it seem to be a little too crispy but nonetheless it was still good. The French toast Was not bad I could've made that at home but I did like them they were a bit crispy on the outside and soft on the inside not a remarkable type of toast maybe some regular brand Wonder Bread or something like that but outside of that it was really good. The syrup did enhance the flavoring of the French toast so it was overall delightful. My husband stated that the country fried steak tasted like an older cut of steak. I tasted it and I have to agree but overall it wasn't bad. The combination of the soft scrambled eggs with cheese and the hashbrowns paired really well with the country fried steak. The eggs by far were the star of the meal. They were cook so perfectly it was like a chef said that's my specialty. They were great!! We went to another place a couple of weeks ago "Atlanta Breakfast Club", paid twice as much for the food that was nowhere near as good as this place. Would we go back. ABSOLUTELY!! I am kind of irritated it took us over two years to eat here.

There seems to be plenty of parking on the street as well as the lot behind the building. It was around noon when I arrived and they were serving their brunch menu. I had the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit that came with eggs and a side of grits. The biscuit was large, soft, and toasted and the fried chicken on top crisp and seasoned well. It was sweet from the honey. The eggs (I had them scrambled) were fine, but nothing remarkable. The grits were quite spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp from the Midwest so they were probably great. I enjoyed everything. I would have liked an unsweetened iced tea, but only sweet tea was available. I had a fountain soft drink instead of. The restaurant was light and airy. NOTE if you go during brunch and you get a cocktail from the menu you won't see the prices for brunch. That is part of the reason for the low rating.
