I've been coming to southern fusion for years now and now they have the new location in Jonesboro. I told the owners in locust grove I would stop by the new location. It's convenient to say the least because it's 5 mins away from my house. So this location is a branch off as to why it has bistro at the end of the name. They are pretty busy at both locations so I expected a wait. It's a fairly small venue yet the wait wasn't as bad. Plenty of parking and is right across from the golf range. I came for my typical fish and grits it gets the job done at either location. Had a few people with me mostly everyone enjoyed their food but we did have some items come out cold. The cold food threw off everything I raved about when it came to this place. This location offers like mini pitchers of drinks and bottle drinks. In honesty it's not convenient if you are more of a drinker you'll have to pay per pitcher and it equals to about maybe 2-3 cups depending how much you pour into the glass. The pitchers come with two bottles of water. Any other drink is mostly "Simply" brand drinks. Honestly the first time I ever left a restaurant thirsty lol. This location also charges a gratuity like most "Downtown Atlanta" based restaurants of 18% and that's not even for orders with alcohol(they don't serve any). You also have to pay for any condiments that you receive that's not offered with your food or that you ask for after you get your food. They are know for their grits, peach tea & jumbo homemade biscuits & cinnamon rolls. They do have a point system for those that plan to come often so pay out at the counter and ask them about it. read more

I didn't catch his name. The Owner/Chef happened to be near the register and greeted me. Once he realized it was my first time there, he gave me several great options to choose from. Food: Catfish and grits - The catfish was flavorful and fried to perfection. Eating the Pepper Jack grits was an experience. They were smooth, creamy, and life changing. Immaculate! One was leaving and one hadn't received their food.....well the food was I just ok, the bacon was good. The grits were savory but could have used more salt. This foodie experience at Southern Fusion Bistro, SFB, has been so dynamic that I am leaving a review before I even leave the restaurant! I just consumed the most delectable catfish and grits with candied yams that I am going to have to slap my Mama AND my Daddy too! The owner of the Sean G. was very personable and assured that his patrons are beyond content. The music is flowing and the vibe is only good. Although the door said carry out only they sat us and everyone else that walked in. Owners were super sweet and informative about their menu. We started with the mixed greens eggrolls, now I don't even eat green outside of my family but this was excellent. They are served with a chili dipping sauce that works well with it. We had the big breakfast with the sweet potato waffle (amazing), and the fried chicken dinner with mac and yams. Everything was good, all drinks are bottled and parking is no issue as it's in a plaza. We'll definitely be back! read more

Service is slower than rush hour traffic in ATL. Took over an hour to receive some soggy waffles and unseasoned, tough wings. Not quite certain what this mystery drizzle is, but it wasn't worth 17 +tax. 2 stars only because the staff were lovely people. My wife and I went to Southern Fusion Bistro for breakfast. Trying something new. It was quaint. Our wait time was about 30 minutes. Seated abs the server came over. Greeted us with a smile. As she was taking our drink order another customer walked by and referred to our server as "Queen". She was very attentive. We ordered beverages. Everything was in a bottle. Okay nice. Ordered an appetizer. Collard Green egg rolls. Very delicious. It took about 10 minutes to get them. Order our main. Not Chicken and Waffles. After about 40 minutes it arrived. The meal was delicious. Asked for an extra syrup container. We were then told that there was an extra charge for syrup. They only gave us a small serving of syrup. So to be charged for another small serving was ridiculous. We even observed the manager measuring the portion size of the syrup. After finishing our meal we asked for the check. We then noticed a tip added in for 18%. From reading the menu. They charge that for even one person. Not giving you a choice. If the service is good or bad you have to pay it. Not cool at all. We will not be going back there again. The service is very slow. I do not recommend this business. read more
