I came in for the first time on Friday after being recommended by my friend Tasha. Her nails ALWAYS look so pretty and long and I had assumed they were acrylics but she told me they were her nails with gel and that's the moment I knew I was sold and needed to get in to see DJ. I called and made an appointment which I was able to get same day and and without requesting a technician, I just happened to get paired up with DJ. Sweet. She asks what I would like and I say something sparkly and clean and she delivered. She mixed a nude base and diluted it down and topped it with the prettiest glitter that reminded me of the girls in Euphoria. I just really felt like she took her time to customize something for me and I appreciate that. Dee was going to do my pedicure but I was enjoying chatting with DJ so she did my pedi too. Two mimosas later and I felt completely relaxed and pampered and it was such a good reminder to take some time to myself. Especially as a mom of two toddlers. This was the break I needed and I can't thank the girls of Summit enough. Dee, DJ, Key! Thank you so much for being so welcoming and funny and making this an annoys me experience. I LOVE this nail salon! I started coming back to this place after finding out it was under new ownership. (I was late to the party. It's been a year or more now, I believe.) I have been coming consistently since Sept 2022, and my structured mani (plump) lasts three weeks minus normal growth. My pedis look perfect and also last (without gel, mind you). My go-to's are DJ and Keira for mani/pedi, respectively. They are very friendly and also offer a beverage for your appointment (water, mimosa, etc...) The owner is so nice and welcoming! It is a great environment, and it thoroughly excites me to know I am supporting a black owned / woman owned business in the community! It's also great because my nail techs are also BGM! I don't get a lot of designs, but the way they shape and finish my nails is nothing short of perfection. This is definitely worth a try (or another try, if it's been awhile). read more

New owner alert. This nail bar is so beautiful. They have the woman side and the man side and of course if you come as a couple you can sit together. I have been to several nail bars before buy the professionalism they show and the care for your nails it's just outstanding. All the technician seem to be pretty good. The reason i say that is because they be so happy when they leave. I Like this particular one which seems to be the head technician (but I could be lying and it could bases on the way she service me lol) I allow her to pick my color and try different things and I've been to her 3 times and I haven't been disappointed yet. I came in for a Gel X set and Katrina did amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable and really took her time to treat my nails and cuticles so that they were extremely healthy. She walked me through the whole thing and explained what she was doing at each step. I showed her a design and she executed it flawlessly! I'm super happy with the result! I've been going to summit nail bar for about a year now. I've never had a bad experience with anyone. Forgive me on the spellings if they're incorrect but Gayle, Kevin, Krystle, Cathy, Christina, and the receptionist with curly hair (sorry i forgot her name) are always very warm and sweet when i go. I have a hand disability on my left hand so it's nice to go somewhere that makes me feel comfortable and welcomed. Krystle does my nails and she usually sits near Cathy & Christina and we all chit chat together and never once did any of them make me feel uncomfortable. I'd recommend Krystle to anyone. She consistently does an excellent job on my nails, even on my left hand which doesn't turn flat, she still paints it perfectly. Fill and a pedicure 85 dollars. Fill 25 Gel 20 Cut down 10 Pedicure 30 I don't mind paying high prices for quality work but this is high pricing for mediocre work. I can't say I got what I paid for. I got seated in a lopsided chair that I had to switch out myself. That chair shouldn't be on the floor, it's a safety hazard. The color I wanted they didn't have and their gel colors overall were very limited. 20 dollars for a last choice color doesn't make me happy. The manicurist did a good job at reshaping and cutting down my nails. No complaints there. The person who was to do my feet did not show up so someone else named Kim did it. She was very nice and full of compliments but the pedicure was 30 dollars and the heels of my feet still feel like a Brillo pad. This was after she rubbed her fingers across my heels and still decided to move fwd with the polish before going back and getting the dead skin completely . I don't know about you but the best feeling when leaving the nail shop are soft feet. I didn't get that here. They do not have AC and used fans to cool the shop . It was quite dusty at the pedicure chair area. Overall, this place is 30 dollars over priced It is black owned but it is not all black opposites. Update 12/11/2018: so I came in randomly today and I asked if they had time for two walk ins for my mom and me. She said if I came back in about 30 minutes they could take us. I specifically asked if they can take us both at that time, and she specifically said yes. So I've been soaking my feet for over half and hour now, and my mom's almost done with her pedicure and no one's even about to start on me. Why do businesses do this?? It's such a waste of my time. If they could not take us I could have come back another day. It's okay to tell me that instead of bait and switch. It just puts me in a bad mood. Because now when it comes to my turn my mom will have to sit around and wait for me to finish. Walked in here today with my 90 year old grandmother to get her a basic mani/ pedi. I wasn't looking to get serviced but wanted to spend some quality time with her. When we walked in I looked to the back of the completely empty salon, except for two nail techs, two customers and a girl with braids that seemed to be restocking stations. The girl with the braids walked to the back and whispered something to a nail tech with dreadlocks and the nail tech rolled her eyes and flashed me an annoyed look. I thought maybe I had caught the look out of context until she looked at me several more times and rolled her eyes obviously to the back of her head. I was confused because they were behaving as if we weren't welcome? Super weird vibe. The girl with the braids returns from the back, and my grandmother asked her how much the service would be, she says "Hold on a second. I'm trying to figure out who's going to do your service." Then starts setting it up to do herself! So weird, would never come back here, we told them no thank you and left. Went down to the nail shop on Slauson and La Tiera (in the same parking lot as Home Depot) it was packed! And they were so kind to us right away the lady came and picked up my grandmother's purse and welcomed her and escorted her to the station, it was also $20 cheaper! Never do I patronize rude establishments. Eye roll to the first shop, you all were looking dusty AF and had the nerve to have an attitude. I did ask about them being acknowledged as a "black owned salon" to which the response was "We never put that out there, our clients did, however we are a multi-racial salon" and Gayle (sp) did ask if I was okay with that. My first time I got a gel manicure with Christina. She was very pleasant and paid attention to detail. I said I was picky and that I needed the gel to last. She said at least two weeks, probably longer. They peeled after 5 days. I sent pictures to their instagram account and no one got back to me. They were thick and lumpy and I said I didn't like them, please soak them off. She told me I would have to pay for the set AND take off...I asked for a manager. She called the owner and the owner supposedly said I had to pay $25 for removal. I said I'm not paying for take off. She told me I could just leave. I work hard for my money and don't appreciate being taken advantage of or being treated like I made something up. She claimed once she finished they would be fine...but I didn't want all that drilling and filing on my nails! There was no reason for my nails to be that thick. First time I came I got a gel manicure which was the best gel manicure I've ever had and it lasted forever. Second time I decided to go back to acrylics. This is the first full set I've ever had that does not hurt at all. Maggie lightly filed my nails as my nail beds are already naturally thin. She was able to address my concerns of my thin nails and assured me she would use a product that would help strengthen my nail beds under the acrylic. Afterward I had the best eyebrow wax on this side of the 10 freeway by Chelsie - this is my second time being services by Chelsie and she is amazing. I love the decor, music, comp'd beverage and staff. For me it is worth the price, just be sure to ask for all of the prices in advance because it's not your $12 a fill type of salon. Let me start by saying I wanted so badly to LOVE this place. A- it's cheaper than the other place I go, B- it's 5 minutes from my house and C- they're the first Azature approved nail shop. Me and nail buddy decided to try this place out on a Friday evening at 6pm. I got a gel mani and my friend got a gel mani and a regular pedi. The girls were very nice and chatty but clearly u should've been paying more attention to my nails. (Elsi was my nail artist btw) When we left it was dark so I didn't really get a good look at my nails until I got home and I was totally disappointed. Cuticles look like crap, Polish is uneven and 6/10 nails chipped by the next morning. Yes, THE NEXT MORNING. (see photos) When I text my friend a pic she said I should go back but I was completely booked for the wknd and the only you could "fix" my nails was to completely redo them and we all know dang well a nail shop isn't going to redo your complete manicure for free so I didn't waste my time. I just know I won't be going back. PROS - lots of nail art, price, mimosas/margaritas and non alcoholic drinks served while services are being done and it's nice seeing a nail shop with such a diverse group of nail artists. I had heard of this place, and honestly never went because the yelp reviews weren't too impressive. My co worker mentioned it to me and I told her I was curious about them too, and I would go if she had a good experience. My coworker raved about them the next morning and made me very excited to go. I have a nail tech that I've been with for about 2 maybe 3 years now, and she's fantastic! The reason I was willing to cheat on her and try somewhere new, is because I have many concerns. The number 1 thing I don't like is the lapse in communication due to the language barrier, as well, I worry about the quality of the products used, and lastly I'd prefer to support a black owned business. The summit is black owned, yet the owners gf/wife is Caucasian, so much for keeping the black dollar in the black community! Her energy is definitely off, I wasn't feeling her at all and our encounter was brief. Next, the girl who did my feet was gentle as hell and quite frankly seemed as if she'd rather not be touching anybody's feet! She did a horrible job on my feet, I asked for the deluxe pedi and wasn't nothing deluxe about it (I believe it comes with a scrub, my feet didn't feel a scrub, lol). She didn't even massage my feet! Moving on, I decided to get a full set. When the guy comes to do my nails, I began talking and immediately he says "no hablas ingles". The number one thing black people complain about at other nail salons is if the techs are talking about us or how we can't communicate with them. I go somewhere new so I can communicate with my tech only for them not to speak English! The disappointment!! I wish I had a picture of what I saw so it could be compared to what I got. I can't believe the tech let me leave like that, to me, something that horrendous shows a lack of experience. The whole experience was trash. Oh, my nails were a $150 and my pedicure was $70. I did complain to the owner Kevin and he invited me back for my nails to be fixed and he only charged me $150 for everything and I tipped $10. Honestly an experience that horrible, I shouldn't of paid anything, my next pedicure should be on the house. I'm too nice to ask for something like that, but I wish I had. My nails are fixed and look 100% better but I had to sit almost another 2 1/2 hours after spending 3 1/2 hours the day before (not to mention I was late to an event and it ruined my evening). One thing I thought was funny: when I came back the next day, they insinuated that I should have stopped him or told him as he was going that I didn't like them. I did actually like them, until he put the gold foil and paint on, and some top coat that made them look thick and chunky like nasty globs of wtf. In conclusion, They have very good quality products and the ambiance of the shop is EVERYTHING. They are a new business, so maybe they're still finding their footing. The nail techs are all pretty nice and welcoming. Even the guy who did my nails was nice, so was the girl who did my toes (she just needs to be trained or something). The drinks are a serious plus, and it's overall a nice business. I appreciated them fixing my nails/toes and taking ownership for the most part. I would go back simply because I do like the environment, they use quality products and majority of the techs are bilingual. I think I just had a bad experience. Coming from the inside perspective, there is a lot of things that needs to be fixed starting from the manager Gail (not really the owner). Customer service is number one key to a successful business. Other comments written by others explain for itself. Clients, who bring the business, shouldn't be treated badly. If you are a celebrity, or know of one, or make a lot of money, yes you will get VIP service. Free alcohol but only for selective people. My experience was very horrible. Disinfection is not being probably done. Likelihood of fungus infection are high. Many other things that can be fined by state board. On the other hand, the technicians were all very professional. I couldn't get in to my usual nail shop, so I reached out to my nail tech from many years ago on IG and this is her new spot! Daisy is the business! She moved on from the shop I normally go to, and since she's 1 of 2 nail techs in the world I trust to do my hands, it was a no brainer. The salon itself is really cute and girly on one side, and masculine on the other for men's service. Cool concept. They have authentic Louboutin nail polish here! Really cool. Not sure how much it costs for that, but they're the only shop that I've seen carry it. Great experience. Horrible experience will never return!! I have given up on patronizing women of color. However, this establishment seems to be ran by a white woman. As in everything I arrived 20 mins early for my 4pm appointment. I let the tech know I had arrived. She was still with another client, I was allowing time for her to finish up. At this point the manager or whatever title she holds asks if I would like something to drink. I asked for water which she brought back. I went to my car to handle a phone call as I was parked right in front of the door. After completing my call I realized its 20 mins into my appointment time. I went inside to ask how much longer my wait will be. I was told 10 mins. 50 mins into my appointment time I am just being taken to a station. Which means that I had be waiting an hour and ten mins. At this point I should have followed my first mind and went elsewhere. But, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and go forthwith my appointment. She asked me the length and shape. I said short almond. Long story short. I got a misshapen short set. Also I noticed she only used pink powder, I personally am not a fan of pink powder I prefer clear. Numerous times I mentioned to her the shape of the nails not matching my hands and how she had narrowed them too much she told me they will look better after she finish the acrylic. After she finished filing they looked even worst. Which I expressed in the most tactful way possible she told she could bill them up more not to worry. She stepped away and came back to tell me I would have to come back tomorrow she has another appointment. This tech has beautiful pictures of what she says is her work. My nails reflects none of that. I feel very bamboozled an offended by the mention of another appointment after I wasted an hour of my appointment time. The manager never once came to talk to me about coming back tomorrow she had messages related thru the tech. No professional at all. Not to mention the conversations about clients and the inability to provide services. Not mentioned I said I am very particular about the customer service I receive. I'm going to continue to patronize asians due to lack of customer service received by others. At least I know what to except with the asians. Writing this review is not easy because of the mixed feelings I got from my experience here.. however, most of my experience was negative so here we go. Cons: I like my nails LONG. I expressed to my nail tech that I like my nails really long, she told me $60. So when I heard $60, I assumed we were on the same page with length. BUT NO.. when I asked her to cut to the length I wanted, she said it would be more. I'll add a picture of the nail length that was considered "long" & "worth" $60. That automatically gave me a bad vibe because this was BEFORE the gel and whatnot. The prices are ridiculous. I don't mind spending money on designs or quality products, that's expected... but having to compromise on the length I wanted because of the outrageous price, that just threw me all the way off. On top of this, my full set & brows took almost 3 hours. (Maybe they were understaffed? Idk) I expressed to my nail tech that I had plans that night with family, so I thought that might've been some insight on how much time I was expecting to spend. My family kept coming in/out the salon to check on me because even they could tell this was taking far too long. I came in wanting some extra services but by the time we had reached an hour & a half I had to skip on the rest of what I wanted to get. And it wasn't just the ladies who worked on me that reeeeaaally took their time. There were a few clients who were in the salon before me getting pedicures & gel manicures and were still there by the time I was almost done. My nails ended up being $90 (the nail tech gave me $10 off, maybe she sensed I was frustrated), and the time frame was already way more than I anticipated... my nails came out decent. They weren't super amazing or nothing, just... basic/cute... that is where it doesn't make sense for me. So let's move to a more positive note.. Pros: The vibe/decor/customer service/music/staff... AMAZING! It looks amazing, I love how much effort they put into wanting to make the salon look so luxurious. The music was bombbbb, the techs were all super friendly & fun to chat with, and the 2 complementary drinks is a super plus (even though I only drank water). I just wished the outcome of my nails reflected the price point... I wanted LONG nails with the loose glitter on all nails & gel, which I would've been willing to pay for if I didn't already have to pay ridiculously on my length. I wish I could've left a better review because my nail tech was so cool & I know the prices are not her fault. The salon is cute, well lit, clean, and u better belive pricey. Gina is a dope nail artist! I guarantee that girl is going places. (Follow insta). Gale (I think the owner) seems nice and accomadating. I got a gel pedi done by a random person. I am not one to complain so I didn't say anything but I was really unsatisfiedand, it looked messy. Then the very next day my toes were burning and hot. I Informed gale she told me give it some time, so I did. For about a wk my toes continued to burn, then my toes and the top of my foot started itching, and got swollen. I informed Gale she sechduled me an apt. However do to a family emergency I wasn't able to make it, then my future apt was canceled because I wasn't able to respond as to whether or not I wanted to keep my unrelated future apt, again I was tending to a family emergency at the time I received it. I'm suppose be rescheduled, guess whenever its convenient for them. Needless to say I'm in search of a new nail salon in LA lol. read more

Mi like evrathing, it's beautiful , it's gorgeous , it's a fancy woman side n a boss man cave side, I luv it.. Customer service is wonderful , evraone friendly n nice, mi boi Keon hooked mi nails up, he use only top quality products , syuraski crystals, n his pricing is fair.. Ya get wat u pay for u , u want the best , he goinna give it to u... This that boss life, must make appointments!!! The only thing I wish they had was more people at doin pedicures, as woman we on our feet all day, as in we n heels on our feet all day n just wanna. Get a quick pamper to our feet to feel refreshed , to me that's a spur of the moment thing. N I would luv to b able to go sit sumwere fly like here n get mi feet done walk in.. I come to Summit to get my nails done whenever I'm in LA. The nail salon is super cute, the ladies who work there are always friendly, and they serve mimosas what more could you ask for. I came to see Michelle for a manicure and Leilani for a pedicure for a wedding that I'm in tomorrow. I've been in a walking cast for two months now so my feet definitely needed some TLC and Leilani did not disappoint. I've also received a ton of compliments on my manicure since I left earlier today.
