This month we relocated from Colorado to Maryland. I found Summit Auto Transport through a Goggle search and gave them a try because of their positive customer reviews. I emailed Aaron and he promptly replied within minutes. He sent over the documents to electronically sign, and a week later scheduled my car for pick up. He was always available to answer my many questions and I really appreciated that. The driver arrived within the time scheduled and picked up my car, delivered as promised, and the car was in the same state it was initially shipped. After dilly dallying with 3 different brokers, thanks to IH8MUD, I found Aaron and Summit. In leas than a day he found a driver to take my inoperable '95 land cruiser to Denver but needed to find a driver to get it to Austin CO. The LC made it to Denver as planned but no place to put it until further transport was available so Aaron kept it at his house for the night. Above and beyond and a reasonable fee. As long as Aaron is in the business, I will not use anyone else-period. read more

1. I used Summit to transport my Xterra from Colorado to Washington State. 2. Xterra was picked up on 8/13 and delivered on 8/18 late at night with a flat tire. Driver gave me $50 for flat tire. 3. Took flat tire to tire shop the following day only to find out there's a huge gash on my tire. So it is not repairable and I had to buy 4 sets of new tires costing me $600. 4. Contacted Aaron same day while in tire shop, sent him photos of tire damage, and he agreed that driver caused damage. 5. However, Aaron says he is not liable for the damage even though my contract is with Summit. He says his company is just a broker and he does not employ any drivers. He subcontracts all of his work. 6. So he instructs me to contact the driver and of course the driver never answered my calls and never returned my numerous voicemails. 7. Told Aaron and he tries to contact the driver and of course, same result - no answer. 8. Aaron contacts the insurance company that represents the driver only to find out driver does not have adequate coverage to cover any damage the driver causes to any transported vehicle. 9. Aaron informs me that he can take action against the driver since the driver lied to him regarding having the adequate insurance requirements when Aaron hired him to do my transport. 10. It's been over 30 days now since pickup and nobody has reimbursed me for the cost of having to buy a complete set of tires due to driver's negligence. read more

First time shipping a car from halfway across the country, it was as easy as ordering a pizza. I heard about Summit Auto Transport from a car forum, they had a lot of positive reviews so they were going to be my first choice no matter the cost. Just out of curiosity I did get a few quotes from U-ship for comparison, and Summit was still one of the cheapest. Filled out a quote form online, had a quote from Aaron within a half hour. Once the transaction with the seller was complete, I submitted the deposit online. Aaron called and gave me the schedule. They picked up on schedule (next day actually), and delivered on time. I will begin by saying that Aaron was very friendly and helpful and that my vehicle was successfully transported from Colorado to Virginia without issue. Ilim, the driver for Green Way LLC out of Portland, WA, was very thorough in his assessment of the vehicle's condition upon pickup and was very friendly and professional upon dropoff. He also arrived a day sooner than I was expecting, which worked out well in my case. All of the following information considered, I would definitely use Summit Auto Transport and Green Way LLC again. My primary reason for not giving 5 stars is the limited transparency in the whole process. I originally considered using Uship.com, but reading reviews (or, rather, horror stories) about the website, the broker process, and experiences with carriers left me second-guessing shipping the vehicle at all. Realizing that using a broker still seemed to offer me the most protection, I went to yelp to see if I could find anything about local brokers. That led me to Aaron at Summit Auto Transport. I told Aaron what I was looking to spend and he told me whether it seemed doable. I was flexible on dates, so he checked in with carriers and found one (Green Way) who would transport my car for not THAT much more than my Uship.com quotes. The car was to be picked up on the following Monday (less than a week away), and Aaron said he'd call me that Friday with information about what time the carrier might arrive. By that Friday, I still wasn't sure what time the car would be picked up, which could have complicated things had my counterpart on the pick-up end not been somewhat flexible with availability. Summit Auto Transport is closed on Sundays, so even up until the day before I had no idea when the car would get picked up. Monday morning came around, still filled with uncertainty. I texted Aaron first thing in the morning and he sent me Green Way's phone number so I could check in with them. That's when I learned that the truck would be arriving for pick-up in Colorado within the hour. Fortunately Green Way had already contacted my person on the Colorado end, so things went smoothly from there. Aaron was always responsive, even though there was always uncertainty about timing for pickup. It's not the most surprising considering the uncertainties in traveling via truck from state to state (i.e., traffic and other delays). The car was loaded, and I paid a deposit to Aaron over the phone. I paid the balance when the car arrived three days later in Virginia, and then I was all set. In the future, I'd probably aim for vehicle pickup on some weekday other than a Monday, or find a way to drop the vehicle off at Summit. read more

BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT USE! I have never written a review in 40 years. We contracted with Summit Auto and Aaron and it was a disaster from the get go. Jeep arrived with damage and after saying he would take care of, Aaron disappeared and didn't return calls or emails for over two weeks. Trust me and use someone else. The Jeep was not picked up as agreed and I should have gone with my gut and not used them. I tried to call Aaron and could not reach him. I was then forced to take the Jeep before scheduled delivery, after receiving a call at 10:00 pm. I said I could not properly inspect the vehicle and was told that it would just be dropped off as the driver had to get back on the road. Again, I tried to call Aaron and he is nowhere to be found. Jeep arrived with damage and I finally got Aaron the next day. He assured me it would be taken care of. I took pictures and got an estimate per the agreement. I was told he would get back to me on Monday. I followed up daily for 2 weeks with no return call or email. I am happy to share any and all details, but do yourself a favor and do not use this company. Aaron is a liar and a terrible business man. He does not stand behind his agreements. You will have to sue him is there is an issue. Trust me, save yourself the aggravation and use someone else! read more
