I paid a premium to use Long Distance Movers and it was worth it. They were extremely responsive and attentive, easy to work with, and for the most part took care of my stuff. However, it was not perfect. Two major negative experiences: 1) the drop off contractor did not have two of my boxes - he had to return to the mother truck to pick them up. Review your delivery carefully and make sure they have everything 2) two of my pieces of furniture arrived damaged. My dresser's knobs were broken off (not fixable) and my bike frame was bent (fixable but a royal pain) I liked Long Distance Movers and I guess no moving company is perfect? read more

I called them, told them when and where I was moving to, and gave them a list of all my possessions (just walking around telling them what I had in each room). I was given an estimate right away, and set the date! Everything went smoothly from start to finish. They carefully wrapped and packed up my furniture, loaded everything, held it in storage for a couple months while I waited for my house to be ready, and then unpacked everything for me. This was by far my best moving experience ever. All of my stuff was packaged carefully and was delivered in the the same condition it left in. They were in constant communication with updates on the status of transport and delivery. They even called after delivery to make sure everything went well without incident. WOW, great moving company. Best experience out of all. We moved from Tennessee to Denver and I was worried about the safety of our belongings because of the distance. But there was literally no problems. They packaged all of my household items very neat and secure. If you have belongings that you care about then I would definately call Long Distance Movers. They took there time and did not rush. You can tell by watching them that they know what they are doing. These guys are professionals at this from what i could see. I had a huge armoir that is an antique and very heavy and fragile, they handled it in a very suprising way. They had absolutely no room to move it out, but they had a method that worked and didnt even scratch a corner or a door. We also had a fun time with the crew. They are very friendly, nice, and you just get an all around good vibe from these guys. These guys really know what they are doing, very top of the line service provided by Long Distance. We got into contact with them through an old college colleague of mine, and I could not be happier with how the move turned out. They began by assigning us an estimator to stop by and determine how big our move would be and how much equipment and manpower would be needed. That entire process took about forty five minutes and subsequently after, he gave a phone call back to their office location and order an additional truck as well as two more workers. When the workers arrived is when the action began! They helped us back all of our stuff into the boxes and even provided us additional crates to help carry the stuff in a more sturdy box. Afterwards, they began cleaning out the rooms by moving the larger sets of furniture first and afterwards tackling the smaller things. The entire move took about three days but our house look spotless and as good as new right after that. However, just about everything was missing and all the things that reminded me of home were gone too, I was hoping it wouldn't take too long to receive all of stuff from the shipping, and it did not! I would not recommend this company: I chose this company because of the rating on Yelp. When Joseph originally called for my initial quote he said he'd be with me from start to finish. The first part of the move went smoothly and the pick up crew was great but it took 4 days for me to get ahold of someone at the company to even discuss delivery of goods. Once my items were delivered several items were damaged, including water damage to a white futon cushion and 3 items were missing. After talking to the local deliver team and emailing Joseph and Seneca at Long Distance I never heard from them or anyone at the moving company. I was supposed to receive a $45 credit due to a change in delivery date which I had to pay to my building and have yet to see it. read more

I hired long distance movers after talking to about six different long distance moving companies.Jake was friendly, excellent,felt very transparent right from the beginning , he gave me the quote for both my household good and my auto.They are not cheap but felt comparable and reasonable to other companies and I was able to afford that price. I moved from Denver to Connecticut. Auto delivery took about a week and household goods took 16 days from the pick up date for delivery. Both pick up and deliver crew are very good.Very efficient, friendly and got things done in about 3 hours.( we lived in a two bedroom apartment.) I felt car delivery truck driver to be little bit 'rude/frustrated' about his job but I did not care much about it. Good thing about this company - the person who gives you the quote(Jake in my case) will be the person who you will be following till the the end(of course you get some emails from other in that company for updates..etc). No major damages, got almost all of the things delivered on the specified date(you will typically get notice the day prior to delivery from the truck driver).
