Super amazing quality of fruits and vegetables and for a super good price! Best strawberries I've ver had are from here as they were sweet, crispy, and so fresh. Service was great too as they were so informative and kind and their products and when they may have more of certain things we were looking for. A cute shop tucked on the side of the road that catches your eye immediately! I definitely recommend checking it out for fresh organic produce. read more

This a great little store in South Mountain that is full of fresh produce and other goodies. The workerrs are really nice and offer samples of sliced citrus upon entering. Here you'll find what you need from delicious fruit, veggies, to honey, soap, nuts and more all locally sourced. I especially make my way in for the beautiful eggs. This is one of the few places I will get eggs from that I can enjoy with no symptoms. I'm never disappointed whenever I stop in. read more

Nice little barn located along Baseline Road in South Phoenix. Not a place you would expect to see it for sure. It's been a staple on this side of town though, and has a great selection of locally sourced produce and unique offerings! The staff is very friendly and they often share samples of their seasonal fruits for their patrons to try. We were offered slices of their tangelos and they were SO SWEET, we bought some for the trip home. *Bonus* The Barrio Taco Shop sets up an amazing taco stand in front on Saturdays and Sundays from 11-5 (or until sold out, which happens often because they are that good)! They offer a simple menu of a few different types of tacos - truly delicious tacos! Carne Asada, cabeza, & pork pastor/pineapple. All are SOOOO good and fairly priced, I might add! Also serving up nachos, and agua frescas too! You don't want to miss this one. Great place to end up on a weekend when driving through Phoenix! (Barn is closed Sunday, but the taco shop is steady slangin tacos both Sat & Sun). Highly recommended. read more

This is tough, as being raised in Tempe this special spot has been a favorite visit for all things fresh, delicious & fun. It's gone sour for me now as they've decided to push amoral politics to the forefront. Businesses have the right to express their political views. Tried to stop by another farm stand today with no success so I was glad to find summers! The people working here are super nice and helpful. I got to try a blackberry and it was delicious. Lisa one of the friendly employees stated face masks were my prerogative - I kept mine on. Think of a Farmer's Market on fruit steroids & here's Summer Fruit Barn - not in an actual barn. A classic fruit stand with local products ranging from veggies, dates, honey, nuts, salsa, jams & even AZ namesake - cactus candy. In addition to the goodies, from 7A-2P you can get a fresh-squeezed drink/smoothie. With the offering of samples, again your decision to partake or note, yet various samples are cut up & served on a frequent rotation. I got a bag of sweet Grapefruit to juice while I was in town & only paid $6 for the bag. I recommend SFB if you are looking for inexpensive, farmed & organic garden goodies. BEST mandarins/oranges in the valley! So sweet and they have a nice variety to choose from and if you cannot decide the friendly staff is more than happy to give you free samples. I am also a fan of their local honey especially during the allergy season. My husband loves their jared apple cobbler, my boys love their pretzels. I went here from a Facebook post, we drove rather far with doubts about the watermelon they posted on Facebook. To our surprise after she told me to pick any watermelon to be cut & tried, I did. We went here because we typed in "vegan date shake" and they were at the top of the list. When I asked about the shake I was told they were out of cow's milk/ice cream and they don't make them any other way. So that was disappointing BUT we got AMAZING oranges and she will juice them fresh for $10 which was so worth it for the quality! We got the bharhi dates and they were the best I've ever had. Had a great visit to the fruit barn right before Christmas. The staff helped me pick fruit/jam/nut/hot sauce/honey baskets for my family back east. We stumbled across this place after a nice morning hike at the South Mountain Preserve, and wanted to come home with some fresh fruit. As a brand new transplant to Phoenix, I had no idea there was so much fresh citrus here! The woman working there was so helpful and gave us some samples to help us figure out what we liked. Everything was so fresh and juicy, and I love that everything there is local and supports the local and AZ citrus communities. Everything was amazing, and I truly cannot wait to come back and get more. There are 2 precious, quieter puppies that live there, and dogs are allowed inside! Also- do not pass up the fresh juice! Summers Fruit Barn you have lost my business. Was avid shopper until COVID-19. Stopped by today and was SHOCKED that no employee/owner was wearing a mask or cleaning carts and handing out samples. When I inquired about the lack of masks, the employee stated "it's your choice". So summers fruit barn, it is my choice to never grace your business again. You are the reason that COVID continues to spread in addition to putting your customers at risk (your customers are your bread and butter - show some respect). I have visited the Fruit Barn 3 times at this point and all times have been PLEASANT!!! All of their produce is fresh, organic and great pricing! I used to get my produce from frys, aldis or amazon fresh and it was expensive, non organic and would go bad in just a few days from getting it... This is the place to go for fresh produce! Good place with good fruit selection but unfortunately during a pandemic the cashier, workers and everyone running the store showed no care to wear a mask or maintain a distance of any kind . The only folks wearing a mask were the patrons. Not a sign of alignment. This lack of care for the health of your buyers forces me to give this rating. Even if you don't believe in masks wear them from a customer service standpoint: or put a screen between the cashier and the buyer. Cash was encouraged over card during a pandemic.
