We just moved to Orlando and are looking for a new Chinese restaurant to love. This wasn't it. The food was good, but not great. Good portions however. We ordered the won ton soup and were disappointed Wor Won Ton was not an option. The pan fried dumplings were deep fried which was odd for us. The chicken lo-mein was good. I ordered food from there and its poor quality. I guess its a hit or miss with them but way more of a miss. Employees there are the worst. I ordered take out and my meal was not complete missing the major dish. I called to complain and was offered $3 off next order. When I went again they acted as if they didn't know what I was talking about and not only did I get an incomplete order which I paid for but I also got ripped off and the lady there was okay with it. I told her that I would take my business elsewhere and write a bad review and she smiled and said " okay do you want your food or not ( for full price no discount) never will I go there again the food is very poor quality anyway. read more

I've been eating here for at least 10 years. It was always overpriced but the food was good. So you kind of just dealt with that because again the food was good. I don't know if it's a new ownership, new management, but by God the food is horrible now and still overpriced. I went for lunch and got shrimp with lobster sauce, The shrimp was bad the sauce was probably made a week earlier and I couldn't eat it. So The server asked me if I wanted something else and I said please and went with my old reliable Kung bo chicken. It was so salty it was an edible. But the soup was good the rice was good and I didn't complain, she explained there was a new cook. So after coming here for years I figured it was Just a bad day. I came back a week later ordered Kung bo chicken And just like before it was the Saltiest thing I've ever tasted. I'm actually bummed. After growing up around Chinatown in Boston I will say the food is decent but nothing to go crazy about. I will say it would be nice if they offered chicken fingers as my daughter loves them. read more

Good sushi, very friendly service, good Chinese. I would definitely recommend this place! They have to-go, delivery and sit down, plus a fresh sushi bar. The menu is fairly large and the sushi options vary a good deal, more than we have seen on the east coast. Easy to get to neighborhood option for those of us stuck in suburbia. :) read more

We love Summer Palace Sushi & Chinese food! We've never had a bad meal! The only reasons they're getting 4 s is that Tao Asian 2 miles past them has a better Sushi Happy Hour ($3.50/roll from 3-7p). AND because Tao Asian is further they won't deliver to us which means that Summer Palace is the only Chinese Restaurant choice for us! Because of the building boom they're always busy & the last couple times we had to wait 45-60 minutes to get our delivery! Summer Palace needs more drivers for the evening especially since our community is adding 700 more houses! read more

Excellent food and excellent value with the All You Can Eat deal. The service was prompt, polite and our server, William, was very knowledgeable and professional. The one thing that bothers me is the "Ratings" on the sushi which CLEARLY reflect the cost of the role to the restaurant to how many stars it gets (Garden Roll = 5 Stars! Crab and Scallop = 3 Stars). My family and I absolutely love this restaurant. It's a small neighborhood restaurant and it is casual, very clean, and nice atmosphere. The service is incredible and as regular patrons all the servers know us by name, and treat us like family. They offer a wide range or Chinese food, and Sushi too. Our favorites are the General Taos Chicken, Egg Fu Yong, Lomain Noodles, and their all you can eat sushi. The sushi is amazing especially the Dynamite Roll, my personal favorite. Food was not hot when it came out. Rice is normally steaming when it comes out. The meat was very chewy and soggy. Sadly I will not return.

Okay food but a bit overpriced. That being said I used to order take out at least weekly (my food standards are low). The final straw was my last order was missing two sushi rolls. I called the restaurant and was told the driver would be right back. 30 minutes later (I live 5 mins away) I called again and was told the driver had delivered my order to the wrong address and they were making me new rolls. It's now been an hour and 15 mins since I ordered. 30 MINUTES LATER I called AGAIN and was told "we're really busy - we're leaving with your order right now". If the owners are reading this-- if a customer orders over an hour ago, doesn't receive their full order, and calls back twice looking for their food - you make them your priority. Finally, TWO HOURS after I ordered my sushi rolls arrived. Did they offer to refund me? Nope. Throw in a free egg role? Nope. I literally threw out their menu and haven't ordered since. read more

I gave this place one star for two reasons. First of all, it's not a Chinese restaurant, it's Chinese and Japanese. We ordered a sushi roll. While we were waiting for our food we heard a plate break and didn't think anything of it. When our roll came my girlfriend found a piece of stoneware in her sushi roll. I immediately called our waitress over, who was the owner. She apologized and gave us a free salad. When the bill came she charged us for the roll, and said she wouldn't take it off because mistakes happen and we did order the roll. I guess the free salad was supposed to make up for the roll. read more

Absolute worst experience! I used to come here and order from the Waterford location, but when I moved to windermere I was excited that there was another location... now i'm regretting it. When we were seated our waitress appeared almost instantly. Yet there was no greeting, no introduction of who she was just a sharp and simple "What drinks do you want?" She seemed very rushed and it was very rude. This was strike 1. Strike 2 came when she would reach over me and my fiance to grab things and wouldn't excuse herself to do so. That was very annoying. Strike 3 came when she finally came to take our orders. The website for the windermere location was down, which we didn't find out until we got there because the menu for the All you can eat sushi is different for the two locations(The windemere location is much smaller) and within the hour of waiting to receive our food, we noticed that people who sat after us were getting their food a lot quicker, yet all we wanted was sushi. An hour of waiting for food??? Not okay.We could have had two sushi orders back to back in the time we waited to have our first order. We asked for the check the moment we got our food. BUT when we received the bill, there was still someone else's receipt with their credit card information still inside it. My fiance let the woman who seemed to be the manager know this but she didn't seem to care. Overall this experience was infuriating. Taking a step back and looking at it, there was a sushi cook and whoever else in the kitchen and 3 women in the front. The hostess was sometimes doing the job of the waitress, and the woman who seemed to be manager was sometimes doing both the hostess and waitresses jobs. There was no order to this restaurant and it made it more frustrating. Our waitress was trying to manage 4 tables by herself, and the other two women were somewhat helpful to her, but it's no excuse. None of this should have been my experience for a simple 'all you can eat sushi night', which we didn't even choose because the selection was so small. In terms of food taste and quality, it's okay. There are better sushi places out there for good prices as well. read more

delivery was great! had the sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak, chicken and broccoli and house friend rice, flavor was good and all the orders came with white steamed rice that was more than enough. all of this fed a family of 5 plus we had left overs. overall it was okay i would order out again from this place. read more

Would not recommend any of these. The Moo Goo Gai Pan was undercooked and very, very chewy, the sauce was almost water with no flavor at all. The Sesame Chicken was very overcooked to the point of being overly greasy and grease laden. The Sweet and Sour was cooked well BUT they did not bring the sauce or our drinks. I called as soon as I realized the sauce and drinks were missing and they said they would bring them right over, they arrived 30 minutes later. Very poor response time. CLOSING COMMENTS: As we all know all Asian delivery restaurants use per-prepared food, the magic is in the preparation and handling. We placed a to go order that included tempura. I was so excited when we got home and opened the order as I haven't had tempura in a long time that I picked up a shrimp and dunked it in what the girl at the restaurant told me was tempura sauce but it was actually some sort of oil. It tasted off and like it was used oil that was brown in color. This pretty much ruined that meal for the evening because I just could not get the taste of the oil out of my mouth. The next day I took the container of oil or what ever it was back to Summer Palace and explained to the the guy what happened....he took the container to the kitchen and after about five minutes came out and admitted it was not tempura sauce and offered me two egg rolls, I told him I didn't want egg rolls but I would appreciate a partial refund since my entire dinner was ruined. He declined the refund and offered me a $5.00 and $3.00 coupon instead that I could use at different times. I told him I already have coupons because they are on the back of the to go menu. He would not give me anything other the the $5 and $3 dollar coupon because he said the manager would question it. Needless to say we will no longer patronize Summer Palace. read more
