When I first moved here everyone raved about this place. I used to order all the time despite being so expensive but the food was really good. I don't know if the chef changed but the quality changed and it's now not that great. I typically get orange beef which comes with white rice. The beef slices used to look like actual beef. Ordered delivery from this place via door dash. Food showed up pretty quickly which made me believe it was not really made to order. I ordered the General Tsao's chicken, Mongolian Beef, veggie fried rice, fried dumplings, and two egg rolls. The chicken was pretty good. Solid 7/10. Flavorful and plentiful. A bit overcooked, but still good. The beef was better, 8/10. The rice, was 7/10. Not a lot of veggies but still pretty good. Egg rolls 3/10. I didn't care for them much and likely won't order again. Dumplings, 3/10. Same as the egg rolls. Overall, Summer Palace is just ok for me. A solid 7/10 for basic American Chinese food with a few hits and some misses given the quantity of food they are preparing. Although I may order from them again, I'd likely skip the apps and only order a few entrées which all come with white rice. read more

First Time LAST TIME They will serve your food in poisoning containers. I specifically asked for NO STYROFOAM and lady LIED and told me its regular boxes. When confronted her about it, she got RUDE and told me that's what they use. Styrofoam (polystyrene) is harmful for hot food because high temperatures cause the container to break down, leaching toxic chemicals like styrene and benzene directly into the food. These chemicals are linked to health risks including cancer, nervous system issues, and reproductive damage. The foam can also warp or melt into food. The food would be great if the packaging didn't leach poison into your body!! read more

We ordered from here on Uber Eats. We ordered General Tso's chicken with medium spice level and it came with a side of white rice. The food was still steaming hot when we received it. The chicken was like any Chinese place but the spice level was very tamed down. It was a good size portion and was enough for two meals. It was about $18 per meal before tax. read more

*Do not eat here!* This is the worst place I have ever eaten in all of Central Florida. Immediately, when we walked in the lady was rude and dismissive of us. We were the only people in the restaurant. We placed our order and payed at the counter. By time we sat down the food was coming to our table, in to-go boxes and plastic cutlery. How on earth did they prepare 2 entrees in less than 5 minutes?? The food was awful. The rice was completely flavorless and had freezer burn on the mixed vegetables. We ordered sesame chicken and beef lo mein. The beef was chewy and a little slimy. We could not tell what the sesame chicken was made of (pictures provided). It did have some chicken in it but the rest was a slimy goop. Couldn't even wash it down with water as they do not provide cups of water. We ended up walking out, leaving our food there. This place used to be so much better but it seems new owners have taken over and basically ruined it. I wouldn't feed that "food" to my dog. read more

We have eaten at Summer Palace for years and I am sad to say today is the last time I will ever go there. They USED to be very good. I used to LOVE their food. THAT HAS CHANGED !!! I wish I had believed the bad reviews that I read. I didn't want to be unhappy with this food. We got 2 lunches. The prices have gone way up and quality way down. Lunch prices were $15.00 each. Both had a lot of rice, not much meat and very crunchy almost not cooked vegetables and it was very bland, almost no flavor. Just moved to the area, and the choices for Asian cuisine is very slim. This place seemed to be the closest option for us when it comes to Chinese food. The reviews didn't sound great, but honestly the place is not bad. This review is based on one visit where we did takeout for Chinese food only. Can't comment on the sushi. Beef and broccoli - standard offering. It was cooked well and good ratio of both beef and broccoli General Tso tofu - good flavor and lots of tofu, but the batter was not sticking to the tofu and wasn't really crispy compared to other places Krab rangoon - The filling was a bit salty and had cream cheese and chive and no surimi (fake crab). A bit different than other places where it was more sweet and had the fake crab with the cream cheese Sweet and sour shrimp - Batter was tasty, but too thick which made the middle a bit soggy and bready. So overall, pretty decent choice for Chinese. Will probably try other items on the menu or even try to eat in to see if the quality is different than the takeout. But definitely will get takeout here when we are craving some Chinese takeout. read more

Do not order from this restaurant or even sit down to eat. Check ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS on Google and Yelp. The woman who answers the phone can't speak English very well at all and more importantly can't understand what the customer is saying because she keeps saying "speak slower" (which makes absolutely no difference) and then she will say you are "rude" for not speaking slower. I had the absolute worst conversation with her just now. My husbands food is still ordered and expected via Uber eats delivery. I am deeply concerned based on her attitude that the food will either (a) never arrive and yes, that has happened before, or very late (that has happened before) or it will be somehow "altered" due to her "fishy attitude". If he gets sick from the food tonite, we will let you know for sure. But this place is technically the only Chinese restaurant around in this part of Florida and they seriously rest on their laurels of a reputation gone by the wayside. Sorry/--but it's true. Food arrives dry and cold most times. When dining in, the food doesn't match the meal description or look appetizing. This place used to be very good years ago, but now it's a pit. Now I know of this place for a long time, but I didn't know they had AYCE! My friend told me about it and we went to try it! The menu for the AYCE sushi is very limited...but have a number of options available. I just went for the nigiris. The nigiris were surprisingly not bad! All these are made to order, it isn't a place where they are already made and you just go and pick them up. They give you a sheet and you fill in what you want. The nigiri fish slices were surprisingly pretty thick but the rice pieces underneath was also very thick... the nigiris came with 2 in every order. Environment This is in the Summerport plaza tucked away in the corner. It is a very small restaurant, seems like it is a take out restaurant more. There are about less than 15 tables available inside to sit, you can also sit at the bar. Definitely not a romantic spot. Niceness of the staff There wasn't very much interactions with the staff, she just took our order and left. She did not caution me about anything even when I ordered more than what I could eat. I initially thought it was 1 piece of nigiri per order but it is actually 2... so I got about 18 pieces. At least I got my monies worth right? But be careful not to get too much cause they have the right to charge you for not finishing the food Dollar It was 20.95 for all you can eat. But be cautious not to order too much, they charge 0.25 per roll and 1.25 per nigiri piece that was not eaten! Order what you can eat! Yes? This will be our last time going to Summer Palace. If we could do a zero or negative stars we would. Unbelievably bad experience. We called to pick up an order. We were told a certain price for the order by the woman on the phone. It seemed very high to begin with but we had friends over and everyone was hungry so we went to the restaurant to pick it up. When we got there, we picked up the food and brought it home. My wife noticed on the receipt that we were charged even more than what I had signed for and we contacted the woman on the phone. She said we were charged for "Uber" pricing and that was why it was more. We said why on earth would we be getting charged more to pick up our own order. She couldn't explain why we were charged even more after picking it up and it looked like she added a tip to the order which was not authorized. We told her this was not right and she began to scream in a way that we couldn't understand her. We mentioned that we will be sure to put this into a review and she gave us attitude about "well you can do whatever you want, I don't care". Obviously for those that don't want to deal with an unscrupulous business and horrendous customer no service, definitely avoid Summer Palace. Their average quality and overpriced food is not worth the hassle and grief and there are so many better Chinese options in the area. read more

Sumer Palace is a small restaurant located in a strip mall anchored by Publix. The restaurant always appears to be clean and orderly when I stop in. The staff is friendly enough. For starters we ordered the Steamed Dumplings and the Krab Rangoon. The Krab Rangoon turned out to be kind of chewy and a little greasy but the dumplings were perfect. For entrees we picked the Moo Shu Pork, Honey Chicken and the Mongolian Beef. Each entree came with a side of rice. All three dishes were hot and exactly what we expected. The Mongolian Beef was the favorite because it had the perfect balance between sweet and a little spicy. ------------------------------------------ My best advice If you order take out.....When you pick up your order you have to take the responsibility to inventory the contents of your bag before paying and leaving the restaurant. We ordered our food, fast delivery, looked good except we ordered chow mein and got a dish with glassy noodles, not chow mein. My wife called to alert them and the woman on the phone immediately got defensive, told her "you are American, not Chinese", even put a supposed customer on the phone to reiterate the same line of BS. This place is an awesome sushi place. I've yet to try anything else on the menu due to the fact that their sushi combo is such an amazing deal. I got a soup, ginger salad, edamame, a small krab salad roll, a huge fried roll and 4 pieces of nigiri. This sushi combo comes with all that for the low price of $14!! Change of opinion. Their driver just MADE me give him a 15% or he wouldn't leave. Never giving these guys my business again. Apparently they don't understand the concept of how tips work, in retrospect I should've left $0 and just told him to get the F off my porch. I wish i could give this place a minus of a star because 1 star is to good for them went there last night pick up a to go order i spent $75 dollars for my order i have a family of 5 and that is are normal price for Chinese take out sometimes more so place my order with the lady and say 20 minutes so i come back to get my order and i ask for hot chilli oil and homemade hot mustard one of each she say that will be 50 cents each now i think to my self this is a red flag back home up north when you ask for those items they don't charge your for them so i said ok thats fine so i go to pay i pull out my debit card and she says no minimum of $5 on card now she know i only have a card because i paid for my food when i ordered it at the beginning so then i ask her to if she can just give it to me since i just spent $75 and she said plain out no you should of said you wanted those items at beginning i told her i didt know you charge for them so she says ill give you only one choose and i said your going to loose a customer over 50 cents i told her i never coming back here and that you lost a customer that average order is $75 dollars and we order Chinese take out once a week and she said that fine then her husband in the back ground is saying to what do think we run a free restaurant he acts like i just come in and ask for hot oil and mustard and didt spend $75 on food don't waste your money here the service In horrible and food is absolutely garbage i wont feed my dog this food go support people that appreciate your business and your hard earned money read more
