I am here with my sorority sisters for a Valentine's Day celebration. Surprisingly I'm pretty refreshed after going out dancing last night. I did sleep in this morning. I'm familiar with this Summer Moon coffee as it is across the street from my gym - Gold's Gym Cypress Creek. It is a bit tricky to get to as you have to go down to the light and make a left turn. Then you weave through the parking lot to reach the location. This Summer Moon has an extensive food offering - yogurt, sandwiches, breakfast biscuits, chips and assorted pastries. In addition, there is an assortment of coffee and teas. I ordered the hot latte with 1/4 moon milk (weaned myself from full moon milk). It was warm and soothing. Very good... There are a number of items for sell - candles, clothing, caps and of course, coffee. My cashier rang me up lightning fast. The ordering line was long for a while but went super fast. We came here for the second time, and after my wife had been talking about this place for a long while, I can confidently say it's quickly becoming one of our favorite spots. Even though this wasn't our first visit, the cozy and welcoming atmosphere still made a great impression the moment we walked in. We ordered the decaf Half Moon coffee and the Matcha Moon, and wow--both were absolutely amazing once again. The flavors were smooth, comforting, and well-balanced. The sweetness was just about perfect for us--maybe slightly on the sweeter side--but in a way that felt indulgent rather than overwhelming. After a couple of visits now, it's safe to say we're officially fans. One thing that really stood out to me was the moon milk. It was beautifully prepared--soft, creamy, and not heavy at all. I usually don't do well with regular cow's milk, but this one sat perfectly fine with my stomach, which was a pleasant surprise and made the whole drink even more enjoyable. They offer both hot and cold options, which is great since you can enjoy their drinks no matter the season or your mood. Since it was a cold day, the warm drinks were especially comforting. We also tried a slice of their carrot cake, and it was delicious--moist, flavorful, and the perfect companion to our drinks. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, patiently explaining the menu and giving us great recommendations. Overall, it was another wonderful experience from start to finish. Summermoon is a very well known coffee chain that started in Austin and most well known for their moon milk which is like if sweet cream/half and half/vanilla had a baby. It makes all their drinks so good! I love their seasonal drinks (like strawberry mocha) and their blue moon (which is basically lavender latte). Their moon milk can also be non dairy which is nice for those who can't have dairy. My friend had a matcha moon milk latte and I must say I was impressed - usually matcha is too powdery at other coffee places but this one was creamy and smooth. There are a bunch of locations in Austin, but I particularly like this one. First off there is plenty of seating if you want to meet up with friends, study, or hang out. Most tables along the wall has outlets for you to plug in your computer if you need it. They have pastries and hand pies as well as tacos. This location is not nearly as busy as the one in the Domain or one down south so it's more quaint. They also have a drive through which a lot of the others don't have. Parking is free and plentiful. It's also nice they have an outdoor area that has umbrellas and underneath roof overhang although their view is of a parking lot haha. Highly recommend this location to get a drink and hang out. My wife and I have been in here a few times before but I've never gotten around to making a review for this place. I've been to a lot of summer moons and they're all great. This one is no different, but I think I like the vibe better in this location since it's more compact and it feels more homey. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Austin. I love the iced 1/4 moon and the plain latte, which is my go to drink. They've got yummy pastries, including the homemade pop tarts. So good! I love that you can order ahead on the app and it's ready to go when you get there. They've got lots of seating inside if you've got time to stay awhile. read more

I've been to 3 different Summer Moon locations. Each one has a different vibe. The one here on Little Elm is nice but the music is too loud to sit and really study. Staff was super friendly. And of course the coffee was excellent. I had the Mocha Moon which has a deep chocolate flavor without being overpowering. You can get it with either 3 or 4 shots of espresso. Summer Moon coffee shops (all of them, including this location) are generally consistent in their coffee quality. They're sweet (that's the moon milk for you), have a fairly large menu, dairy-free options, some food items, and offer a clean space. I've never seen a dirty bathroom either at Summer Moon which is another perk. You know what coffee can do to some people's insides... It can get ugly (and stinky) real fast. This local chain knows what they're doing in that regard. The only criticism I have for Summer Moon is the following: Lattes need to feature a stronger espresso taste. Even in the quarter and half moon versions of their drinks, the sweetness and milk greatly overpower the taste of espresso. I can't tell what I'm having. They are emulating Starbucks, which is fine, but not pleasing to those who enjoy a balance of espresso and milk/sweet flavors. It's always leaning more towards the latter. Also, make your drinks hotter. Lukewarm coffee isn't all that. I don't have any realistic expectations that a Summer Moon executive will ever read this review and be inspired to improve their offering and their menu as most people seem okay with drinking overly sweet tepid coffee. That's how Starbucks got big and Summer Moon is walking in their shadow, retracing their footsteps. Good luck on that journey! read more

I have never had a worse experience at a coffee shop before!!! I have come here a few times in the past couple months and have never had any noticeably bad experiences, until this morning. I think he is the manager, he is short and bald and truly one of, if not the rudest people I have ever experienced in the service industry. I order my drink and he immediately comments on how much sugar is in it (quarter moon latte) which reallyyyy caught me off guard and made me not want to even get it anymore. Then I ask if their matcha is pre sweetened and he says "yeah it is, it's definitely not top grade because if you couldn't tell we're not in Japan". Every single time I asked about something or ordered he made a horribly rude comment about it. I wish I would've had the courage to say something to him to maybe prevent him from being like this to other customers but I was so caught off guard I couldn't get it out. What scares me even more is if he can treat complete strangers (customers) like this then how is he treating his coworkers? I hope he gets repercussions for his actions, I would be thrilled if I came back there and never saw him again. Coffee is fine, HIS service is horrible. I chugged this drink so fast! lol. Their moon juice (homemade creamer) can be dairy free if you want it! I had an iced mocha latte with dairy free summer moon 50% was def sweet enough! First time trying Summer Moon and it's worth the hype! Coffee is good and strong and the Moon milk is so original and tasty! We got a cold drink, a hot drink and a bottle of the Moon Milk. They have different options on the moon Milk Ike dairy, almond, oat, coconut etc. The Moon Milk is very sweet but their menu lets you choose full, half, quarter, or eighth. We got a full which was very sweet, but still delicious! The half was also still sweet but the flavor of their coffee is so good and strong, the moon Milk doesn't over power the coffee. I'm thinking the sweet spot for my taste would be the quarter. Line in the drive thru can get a bit long but the staff try to be as efficient as possible and get to us fairly quickly. Summer moon is my new favorite coffee shop. Prices are great, they have tacodeli breakfast tacos in the morning, and they have smoothies and tea! All the staff is friendly, and they are knowledgeable about their menu. I've come to study, but it's pretty loud and the seating is not comfortable. They have a few tables and chairs and 4 big comfortable chairs, but the long tables in back have high metal barstools and absolutely no back support or cushion. After about 20 minutes I could really feel it. Once an hour passed I had to leave. Besides the uncomfortable seating, everything was great! read more
