My daughter's first teacher was rude and mean to my daughter. She was let go due to her behavior. Then my daughter was assigned to very young and in-experienced teachers, this is a Pre-K class and they were by no means Pre-K teachers. The one girl told my daughter to her face "you will not go to the other teachers class because you are a bad girl." This completely broke my daughters confidence in herself. That girl was let go. During this period of time there were multiple "teachers" in her Pre-K class to fill the gap of not having a teacher. Eventually they found someone. My daughter started coming home crying and telling me that she is scared to go to school. Her teachers are mean to her, they always just yell, they force her to eat her food, force her to nap else she gets in trouble. Then I gave 2 weeks notice, which I think is unfair considering my daughter was being emotionally abused. She had another incident of being excluded because she was "bad." My daughter has suffered major emotional abuse, she has regressed, she has lost her confidence. She does not sleep well because she is scared of being yelled at and is constantly seeking assurance that she is not bad. The curriculum is a complete joke. The center does not have qualified Pre-K teachers to teach the children anything. They charge an absolute fortune p/month for doing nothing. There is no structure, organization or routine. The classes are complete chaos. The staff turn over is concerning. This center was a huge mistake and caused my daughter a lot of emotional damage.

Staff are very competent, highly enthusiastic about all aspects of theatre arts (writing, acting, dancing, stage management, directing, make up, costume design, music, choreography, set design, tech etc etc), nurturing, and there is very strong overall sense of community. My daughter has undoubtedly grown in various ways - willingness to try new experiences, confidence acting on stage in front of ~200 people at the fantastic Mesa Arts Center theatre, made good new friends, carefully managed her time, flexed her memory skills, dealt with the setback of not being cast, been a responsible and positive cast member, improved her acting, dancing, and singing skill. Thank you to all at EVCT for cultivating such a safe, welcoming, and encouraging space for children who want to try theatre! There seems to be something for every young aspiring actor at EVCT.

In the end, after five months stay at this school, I was unable to drop my son off in the morning. He would cry, begging not to go into the class. While this was happening in their lobby and hallway, none of the teachers or admins came out to help calm him down, seemed like as long as tuition is paid, they don't care about you anymore. My son was happy when he first enrolled in this school, unfortunately things went downhill quickly.

I met a gentleman here while waiting for our kids to finish and he told me that he took his son from age 8 to 16 to Aloha in New York and when he moved here for work he moved to cave creek. He takes his daughter to this location every Sunday to better her education. That speaks volumes to me so I knew I was making a great decision. I have 50/50 custody so making weekly plans for my daughters education and extracurricular activities is always difficult and Sandy (Owner) worked hard to accommodate my crazy schedule. I always give my daughter the choice in activities and she willingly chooses to come here and learn, especially on a Sunday so I know I made the right choice in choosing Aloha.

They have their set time to play on the equipment then rotate other classes, in this time they brought our party up stairs to enjoy pizza and cake. Smooth transition.
