What she didn't realize is that their policy is to charge a $20 fee for every month they have to charge you backup credit card. That's a $20 penalty on a membership that costs $25 a month (almost 100% penalty). And they don't notify you they are doing it. Not one email. We just discovered it after getting hit with bogus gym fees and the ridiculous penalty for six months. We talked to a manager. Not only would they not credit back any of the penalty fees, they wouldn't even credit back the month fee and penalty they charged YESTERDAY for the coming month. Despite the fact she'd not even set foot in the gym for more than six months. We even contacted corporate, which said it's an independently owned and managed gym and they couldn't do anything about it. Despite their brand being tarnished. They'll be losing two more memberships when my wife and I cancel our memberships and move to a gym with less onerous policies and better management who care about loyalty and fairness. (And hey Planet Fitness Corporate, we won't be moving to a different franchisee of Planet Fitness....we are done with ALL Planet Fitnesses because of this one franchise's poor business ethics and policies.)

VASA ENDORSES HARASSMENT I canceled my membership at this…read moregym because I was harassed by an older man while working with my personal trainer. He became angry because I was using a machine "too long" during my workout (20 min for 4 sets on hip thrust, 2 other machines were available). This man followed me around the gym for the rest of my hour-long training session staring at me attempting to intimidate me. I reported this unacceptable behavior to gym management, and they endorsed his actions. My trainer was written up for allowing me to use the equipment "too long", and the individual who harassed me is still allowed to use the facilities. I no longer feel safe working out at Vasa, and I am outraged that no action was taken to address my concerns. This is not a safe place for women to work out.

I am now in my early forties and I was finding that I didn't have the motivation or desire to hit the gym. Losing weight and staying trim has become more difficult than when I was 25, so it's been easy to become discouraged. I needed some help. A couple months ago I found Max on Thumbtack and noticed he was getting a lot of great reviews. I decided to meet with him for a consultation and I am now one of his regular loyal clients. Max's workouts are fun, never repetitive, and are completely tailored to my personal goals. He's really down to earth and has a great sense of humor (expect to actually laugh and have a good time while working out). The best part is he's helped me adjust my daily diet and I actually get to eat MORE than I used to and I'm still losing weight, gaining muscle, and having more energy. Can't beat that.
