Shad worked hard to make things right and it showed, very much appreciated. What a fantastic decision to transfer him to this facility in Gilbert to "fix" things, he definitely is in the right spot and will go far. During my dealings with Shad last week, I dealt with numerous others that definitely deserve recognition for their patience, helpfulness and just being kind over the phone. Chase was the one answering the phone and wanting to help, good listener and never just transferred me to get me off his line, he truly wanted to make sure I got to the right person. Andrew, the assistant manager is also in the right position, he truly is there to serve MountainSide's customers. Last but not least is Chandler the manager, talk about making things happen for the good of the customers and the follow up is amazing, something you don't find anymore. One morning I was taking my 2-year-old to the Kid Zone when he urgently needed to use the restroom. We were clearly in a rush, but the front desk employee stopped me and insisted I scan a QR code before letting us pass. The interaction felt unnecessarily strict and passive-aggressive. If I didn't have a membership, I wouldn't even be able to use the Kid Zone, so the situation could have been handled with a little more understanding given that I was trying to help my child get to the restroom. What made the experience worse was the tone. It felt like a scene was made in front of my child over something that could have been handled calmly and quickly. For a gym that charges close to $50 a month, I would expect a higher level of customer service and basic courtesy. I spoke with someone at the register afterward and was told the manager would be informed, but it has been over two weeks and I haven't received any follow-up or apology. Between that experience and the already high membership price (especially considering the sauna often smells unpleasant), I decided to cancel my membership. I'm very disappointed and will be going to a different gym moving forward. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this location based on my experience.

If you're into standard bodybuilding or exercising in a "no frills" and "no BS perks" kind of gym, this is YOUR gym. Since I used to body build and compete everything here is perfect for me to get in a decent workout anytime I want. On top of that, even when there is more than a few people at this gym at certain peak hours, everyone is very respectful and literally just there to get their workout in (no BS). The owner Whitney is a well-known competitor and coach in the bodybuilding industry and her vibe is extremely friendly and kind. She was the one that gave me such a quick tour the day I walked in and obviously signed up for a monthly membership here. It's also nice to feel motivated when you're at this gym when you see present-day competitors training here.

I paid $250 to participate in a performance, but unfortunately landed in the hospital for 10 days and was unable to perform. I communicated this, expecting some level of understanding or flexibility. Instead, I was told there would be no reimbursement -- only the option to perform at the next event, and not even at full value -- just a discounted rate. And this was only offered after they could not get enough girls to sign up for that performance. I also never received the text she said she sent, and the screenshot she claimed to provide never came through. While I truly understand that she just had a newborn -- and I wish her and her family well -- there was no compassion shown to me during my own serious medical emergency. For anyone considering joining, please be aware of all the additional fees involved. The membership is costly, and if you cancel a class last minute due to unforeseen circumstances -- even legitimate emergencies -- you're still charged a late cancellation fee. These extra fees are not always made clear upfront and can quickly add up. Not to mention it is communicated that guest can attend one class for free. That has not always been the case for me even when sending the link through my invite. I was also told there's no profit made off these performances. However, after doing my own research, I found out that organizations like the Diamondbacks don't charge for these pregame performances -- and many companies actually use these events as a way to raise money. That was really disappointing to learn, especially after being told otherwise. If this is true and it's the franchise rules that don't allow a reimbursement then everyone should know this upfront. Since stepping away from DivaDance, I've discovered other local dance studios that charge a fraction of the cost, foster a great sense of community, and don't charge cancellation fees. It's been a refreshing and positive change. I believe in supporting small businesses and the arts, but this experience left me feeling misled, unsupported, and taken advantage of. I hope in the future others do not experience this same situation which is why I felt compelled to be transparent in my own experience.

But the class before us got out late. Bc of this, we had to stand outside and wait for the class to end which was 10 min after our class was supposed to start. During class the instructor seemed distracted and less than enthusiastic. I saw her on her phone while instructing the class multiple times. She was not encouraging or super helpful with all of the equipment even though she knew it was our first class. Along with this, she made it very clear to the rest of class that it was my sister and I's first class and was saying things like "you might want to do this bc it's your first class" "you might not be strong enough for this" while her mic was on. Which is absurd when you are instructing a fitness class. After class was finished the instructor did not seem interested in us at all. She didn't say bye to us or help clean up.

Prior to this, I went to a 'regular' gym with machines and weights. Burn is a combination of strength and high intensity interval training. However, they do not use machines; there are plenty of equipment such as free weights, bands, battle ropes, med balls, and more to help target every muscle group. Each camp is 45 minutes long and very challenging. I always leave sweaty and feeling good. Some days it takes me a while to get my heart rate down. There are several camp times offered throughout the day, Monday to Friday and three morning camp times on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays. Burn Gilbert East has an amazing team. They are all friendly and supportive. I transferred to this gym over the summer and they made the transition very smooth. They welcomed me with open arms and treated me like I had been a member since day one. They learned my name quickly and greet me with a high five everytime I walk in. The trainers are very knowledgeable and will give you the right push to reach your potential. They will also make modifications if you have an injury but still want to participate. Focus meetings are included in the packages. The trainers will provide you a nutritional plan that's doable to help you achieve your goals. As a member, you also get free childcare and access to the private Facebook community group. There's always a fun challenge as well as specials throughout the year. I got started with Burn through one of their specials, a four-week trial for $99. I've been hooked ever since! I'm thankful for Burn Boot Camp Gilbert East today and everyday!
