Cauliflower Soup - delish!!!
Valerie S.

My husband and I had lunch here with some friends recently. I tried the cauliflower soup and it was absolutely delicious. The Reubens, which is one of their signature dishes, were really good as well. The service was just okay though. Our friends were almost done eating before our Reubens came out, so that was a little annoying. The bartender/waitress was nice and fairly attentive but probably could have used some help cause there were a good many people there. The history behind the place was pretty neat. We will probably end up back there sometime.

Who knew there was awesomeness in Middletown, DE? Sully's Irish Pub, Delaware's oldest pub. We got the cheesesteak with mushrooms and it came with beer cheese and steak fries. This Cheesesteak was tasty. The beer cheese was very good. It was thinish so it worked its way through the cheesesteak pretty well. The fried onions and mushrooms added a lot of flavor. The roll is not a traditional cheesesteak roll. We had a major roll blowout. I think the $13.50 ($1.50 for the mushrooms) was a touch High.

This place is fantastic. I love this bar, the service is impeccable and bartenders are the best. Great food 10/10 bar

5 for 5 on visits here at Sullys. Server was MJ this time, she was great!! Attentive, informative, with a great personality. Ahi tuna was awesome and you can't beat the corned beef Reuben. The burgers are always a good choice. Plus....every delicious pint of Guinness has a shamrock design on top of its creamy head...MJ mastered this skill

Ducked in during the Thanksgiving holiday break as I was staying close-by at family's and I needed to get away from all of the estrogen from my many lovable but moody female cousins for a beer and this place was in walking distance. SCORE! Basically an Irish dive bar located right square in the center of quaint and tiny Middletown, Delaware. So I slammed a couple of inexpensive coldies and kept an eye on tings for a wee visit. I didn't try the food. Good stuff. Cabeza, Slainte!

Sully's was recommended by one of the locals. It's a pub/bar but don't think the food takes a back seat to the drinks. I had the Ruben with fries. It was fabulous, the corned beef was killer and the French fries were the best in Delaware, really better than any beach fries.

No frills no thrills type bar. Old, young and pretty damn spacious (the bar you pervs). Lots and lots of friendly staff, mixed in with a very very interesting crowd. I won't elaborate as I like to make people use their imagination. I don't know if it was me but that night I was there, it seemed I was dead set on drinking everything in the bar. Whiskey. Vodka. Fireball shots...everything. What was even more impressive was every time I went back to the bar to buy a round, my drinks kept getting cheaper and cheaper. They had a live acoustic set which was getting in the way of my alcohol consumption but once they finished, I was no longer at time out. Full steam ahead. But I did manage to pick up some key notes: whoever you order a shot from will pour you a different measurement. The one male bartender/server only served shots in the mini plastic shot glasses. We're not in 6th grade buddy. This other female bartender would serve shots in the regular shot glasses, concave shaped. Ok. The best female bartender (didn't get name or pics - I can't creep in a different state - I'm from NYC ya'll) would pour all our shots into a rocks glass, 1/4 the way. It tasted more like 2 shots. Yes, I measured. I thought her first pour was a fluke accident so I proceeded to experiment. Ordered a round from male tender 1, no. Ordered a round from female tender 2. eh. Ordered a round through my home girl tender 3, score. The outdoor seating is also nice but we left that area for the folk looking for some serious conversation. Mr. Rogers much?

Great service and great location. It's a pub and a good one. Best fish and chips I have had on this side of the Atlantic.

A dump where the 20 somethings go for cheap beer. The best thing is the outdoor porch and live music during the summer.

Crappy service, dirty bathrooms, no food to offer, except bags of chips. Some live entertainment and that sucked too.... Poor beer selection

Hubby's birthday and he wanted to stay local due to many home projects we had going on. This place has been a permanent fixture in the area for years. Our first time. Located on the corner of a small strip mall offset by the Wawa, bank & Walgreens. It features live music, karaoke and sports on 7 TV's. My husband got the cowboy sirloin which was a good quality cut and cooked as requested. It came with onion rings and choice of two sides. He had a bourbon & club ($10) for a beverage. I had the French onion soup which was decent but a hunk of French bread was overwhelming in it. Got the loaded potato skins. They were decent perhaps a bit overdone but not a deal breaker. I'm sure they are from a food service. For dessert we got the overloaded brownie & ice cream. That too was decent. Food overall was good. There's 16 tables, some high tops and bar seating as well. The place started to fill after 6pm. Sadie was our server. She ran the bar and along with one other waited tables. She was a no nonsense professional, albeit pleasant. My husband left her a $20 tip on a $59 bill. My husband would definitely eat here again. I like a nicer ambiance with my meal. But like I have said not a deal breaker!

The place is incredibly clean, nicely decorated, and just welcoming. I was seated promptly, and my waitress recommended the Irish stew, which is what I went with. She also recommended a very tempting tasting flight, and I'm not going to admit to enjoying that while on lunch break. I'm not denying it. I'm just not admitting it. The stew was fantastic and really hearty. It warmed me up almost as much as the flight of... tea did. I couldn't resist getting dessert. The bread pudding was delicious and worth going back for on it's own.

My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.
