I came here for the Ladies Night event that they had with a group of friends. We were not expecting it to be as busy as it was! The parking lot was full and there was even an employee directing traffic. The store itself is huge! Even though there were a lot of people, I still felt like there was a good amount of space for everyone. Ladies Night is a once a year event. They had free beer, wine, seltzer, and apps! They also handed out a 20% off coupon for everyone. There was a raffle that you could enter as well. I was so impressed by the turnout of the event. It was super fun and I enjoyed walking around the store looking at plants and flowers. My friends and I each ended up getting a plant!

The people working there are always extremely nice. The products are high-quality, and the inside is pretty clean.

Beautiful place. The garden center albeit small is well cared for with many selections. The aisles are chocked full of items yet organized making finding things simple. They are super helpful and friendly. Masks on all and social distancing was evident by the patrons. Great hardware store!

I'm guessing this is a local garden/hardware store! It's cute! This location is smaller than another one that we passed by. We stopped in after eating breakfast at Cafe Patachou just diagonal across the street. They have all kinds of things! Peppers, sunflowers, and other things I had never heard of. We mostly just browsed but I know my mom would love it here! I'd like to come back and buy something!

Sullivan's provides excellent customer service for your hardware store needs. They treat their customers like family and friends. It is a great place to go when you have lots of questions about small repair projects and fixer upper details. The employees will answer all your questions and make great recommendations for the things you might not have thought of. Highly appreciate all the help. I also go here for wonderful garden items and unique outdoor ideas. I purchased a large fire pit / table here eight years ago and it is still a show piece on my patio. Convenient location. Free parking. Great service. Fresh popcorn. This is my kind of place!!

I love this place! I don't take on many home projects, but I'll tag along to Sullivan's any day. Free popcorn! Friendly staff. Products galore (& staff to help figure out which ones you actually need)! Plus, it's a community-minded business. They offer Halloween events for the kiddos, grill outs for the grown ups and the most fantastic holiday train set up in town (aside from the Eiteljorg but this ones free!!). Bonus: Get yourself on the rewards program & get a $5 Bday gift certificate & earn points all year!

The garden center is small, but mighty at this place. Good selection of both perennial and annual plants. Friendly & helpful staff to answer questions or make suggestions. Hearty looking plants and priced similarly as a big box.

Sullivan Hardware on Penn offers free popcorn on weekends. Hmm. Photo by Jennifer Litz.

The Sullivan at 49th and Pennsylvania has all kinds of hardware--paint, nails, glue, pots--plus young, friendly kids ready to help out with your questions. Outside, a nursery center with plenty of plants, lawn furniture, and more is available for beautifying your garden. The great thing about this Sullivan is that it's located inside a neighborhood. I guess they're trying to capture that neighborly essence with the popcorn maker at the back of the store--a small, dirty-lookin' popper that promises "free popcorn on Wednesdays and weekends." Thanks, but I'd rather not. Cute, though!

I think Fusek's True Value is the only other hardware store in the downtown area, so for those who reside near here (especially those who own homes with lawns downtown), there is now another option. It is located across the parking lot from the new Bodhi Cocktail Bar & Thai Bistro in the site formerly home to Indy Reads (which moved to Fountain Square.) Before you read any further, know that because I don't live downtown, I didn't engage in any transactions while here, so I hope others will soon add more detailed shopping information than I can. The shop is especially prepared for home owners in the area. Lots of items for outdoor work as well a the standard aisles of small items do it yourselfers need and can't find elsewhere. Note that when we visited, a "house" dog was lounging near the counter. So, I would advise not bringing your pets with you to shop since I don't know how they might interact. The dog did not move during our entire visit. Seemed well mannered. One of the benefits of shopping here is that they are open 24 hours a day. My wife asked and yes, they do get shoppers throughout the night! I am glad I'm too old for those all night projects now, but realize that when you get started on something, you sometimes just want to get it done and having a place to get the supplies you need is a huge benefit! The one negative that keeps this from an even higher rating is that the parking is very limited and if you wanted to bring a big truck for hauling larger or multiple purchases, you may have some difficulty in the small parking/loading area compared to most hardware stores I have frequented. But, the store did have a lot of needs covered. I think they are supposed to be a paint supply specialty shop as well. But I didn't realize that until I got home and read some info on their website. If you are downtown for some excellent food, stop by and check Trust out. It might save you a trip to one of those big box stores later. Review #3905
